  • Sending everyone friend requests, LOL. I get kinda lonesome on MFP--I have like one person in my real life who uses it, so I'd love more MFP friends!
  • @kaycuciurean, I started my keto journey using the free food plans from I Breathe, I'm Hungry (www.ibreatheimhungry.com). Since I was cooking only for myself, I scaled some of the recipes back or made one week of meals go for two weeks, etc., but I found it to be a really good guide to help me get started because it all…
  • @Italiana_xx79, there are a bunch of different keto calculators out there, so when I found mine, I used a few different calculators to see what the various ranges were, then picked macros that fit into the various ranges that I'd found. There's a whole subReddit for keto that has a link to calculator in the FAQ. I used…
  • @kimberwolf71 and @KnitOrMiss, thank you both for your uplifting words and thoughts! I'm done pouting today, and am feeling much better. The fact is, I'm actually enjoying the food I'm eating, and there are way too many success stories out there for me to doubt whether or not keto works, so I'm going to just keep ketoing…
  • I'm having a day, emotionally. I'm not necessary sad, just not happy. Here's why: I was tagged in a picture that was taken at a concert last week in my neighborhood and I look enormous and uncomfortable and just awful. What makes it worse is that, when that picture was taken, I was actually feeling good about myself…
  • @havisham, I'll be getting laid off, probably around April of next year. We got plenty of notice, so I started some pre-nursing classes. I'm in microbiology right now. Having those classes done will allow me to roll right into an accelerated Bachelor's of Nursing degree program when I do get laid off. It's a total career…
  • @KnitOrMiss, I'm totally OK waiting, LOL. I'm managing to walk my dog at least a few times a week, which feels like a pretty major accomplishment right now. Waiting until I'm done with this semester of school (8 weeks left) to start hitting the gym will work out perfectly. Thank you so much for the info!
  • @KnitOrMiss and @kpk54, thank you both for the info/suggestions! I bought some frozen salmon at Costco last weekend, and I'm bound and determined to make it delicious, LOL.
  • Busy day for me today, as well. Work all day, class + lab after work. These are long days. I leave around 7, stop home long enough to let my dogs out, then turn around and leave again until 10:30. Days like today, I survive the evening with fat bombs, string cheese, and almonds. It's not ideal, but it's not permanent.…
  • Hi everyone! I've been mostly lurking for the past week, with the exception of posting a couple questions, but have never done the daily check-in. So hopefully it's OK that I'm just hopping in--I think the daily check-in is a great way for someone like me (who's fairly new to this WOE) to learn tips and tricks and survival…
  • OMG, @ripptorn714, that looks amazing. All of it, but the fish especially! I live in Nebraska, so I've always been horrible at cooking fish--always overcooked because I'm afraid I won't get it done enough, LOL. What kind of fish did you use?
  • Awesome, this is what I needed to hear! Thank you all so much!
