  • Just to update y'all I got a scale AND I increased my calorie inatake. I figured out my TDEE and I need to consume between 1600-1700 calories to lose weight. Anything less would put my body in starvation mode becauase I work out x a week. So, I tried modifying that here and mfp said I'd GAIN weight, and my brain can't…
  • You have to eat ENOUGH calories to be able to burn the fat. If you eat less and work out more, you're not going to burn enough. There's nothing to burn except muscle and tissue. Your metabolism slows down, decreases leptin levels, and decreases your energy. If I'm working out 4-5x a week, burning 300+ calories a day…
  • why you bother to help or sleep?
  • So I DO have to be consuming about 1700 calories to lose weight, based on my activity level. I have always measured food with measuring cups and a tape measure. I mean just today, I measured my banana to make sure I documented the right size. When I measure lasagna, I measure 1 cup. When I eat ice cream, I measure 1/2 cup.…
  • I just ordered one and it'll be here on Friday.
  • I believe, based on various calculators, that my TDEE is about 2245. So subtract 20% and that's 1796....that's what I should be eating a day if I keep up with the amt of exercise I've been doing. And if I don't keep up with it, I need to DECREASE the amt of calories.
  • I NEVER used a scale and never had a problem losing until recently.
  • Ok, so SAY I get a scale.....I still want to know how much I should be eating!
  • So, I'm NOT eating enough. I SHOULD be eating some of those calories back? 3x a week, I do 60 mins of cardio (4 mile power walk) and in that cardio at least once a week includes weight training. THen 2x a week, I do 30 mins on a manual stepper using intervals (2 mins of fast pace, 3 of slow)
  • but you have to eat enough to burn the calories.
  • 5'3", 150lbs, 32 yrs old
  • this was so much easier BEFORE I had kids lol. When I got married, I was 130lbs. I gained 20lbs in the first year we were married, and I blame the birth control pill. I got on Weight Watchers and back then (10 yrs ago), it was the single points system where I was only allowed to eat a max of 18pts a day. That was almost…
  • I get that. But I'm not the size I want either lol. Trying to get to a comfortable 8 in jeans, but I'm in a 10 or tight 8.
  • I'm a stay at home mom lol. The only really active stuff I do is when I work out. 60mins 3x a week and 30 mins 2x a week. The 60 min work outs are more than 300 calories, I'm sure. But the 30 mins on my stepper....it calculates about 300 calories. Based on my weight, age and height, my BMR is 1400. I homeschool my kids so…
  • I'd like 1lb a week. At first, I set my 10lb goal to take 10 weeks but I see that's not going to happen now lol.
  • I think I migh thave typed something wrong. I'm going to other sites to figure it out lol. I saw that and was like "NO WAY do I burn that in one day lol"
  • If my BMR is 1450 and I burn about 300 in exercise, what should be my daily intake?
  • no but I measure and count everything out
  • I meant since I've been using MFP.
  • I did see on a sight that my BMR is 1447. So with that, it looks like I need to eat over 2000 calories to lose 1lb per week. I've NEVER eaten over 2000 calories lol. Based on this quitehealthy.com/bmr-calorie-calculator/index.php#results Calorie Summary at Current Weight at Goal Weight Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) 1452 1409…
  • I'm aiming for 10lbs right now. I'd like to get down to 140. 2 yrs ago, I was able to lose 34lbs after having my 3rd child. IT took me 15 months using MFP, to get down to 141.8 from 177.4. But I was also breastfeeding. Once I stopped nursing, it seemed like it started to come back over the past year. I nursed him til he…
  • I have not been eating back those calories. TO me, that sounds counterproductive. I did bump up in my intake just a bit (readjusted my calorie intake) just in case I wasn't eating enough. We'll see if that helps.
  • No I do not eat back those calories. I think that would be counterproductive lol
