Hmmm...suggestion for something funny to say. You could get a slightly confused look on your face then say "Oops, I seem to have lost something." Pause for a moment then continue with "Oh yeah, it's the 100 lbs." Once the comment is out, strut your stuff and show yourself off to everyone. I know it sounds kinda cheesy, but…

Hi, Christina! I sent you a friend request as well. Welcome to the group. :)

I have German heritage from BOTH sides of the family, so I hear ya on the short AND stocky. Makes it rough, but it is what it is. I just can't find clothes I like that are my size. I guess short obese people isn't a concern for most designers. *sigh*

I'm up for it. :)

I had a personal trainer tell me once that a person needs to "switch things up" every now and then just so the body doesn't become too complacent with their usual daily diet. Don't know how true that really is, but... Maybe this will be a "switch up" for you and now you'll experience even greater rewards.

You could also use 100 lbs. of sand bags and let willing guests try to lug them around for a while. I agree with the others about it being no carbage, and you could word the invites as "Enjoy my way of eating - plenty of meats, veggies and healthy fats". You deserve to celebrate! Have fun planning it just the way you would…

When you're smashing up fried pork skins to use as breading for your meat.

Coconutty, I've been so worried about you these past several days. Very glad to hear things are turning around a bit for you. :)

Thanks for all the tips! Next question. Do we have a recipe thread? And is it possible to make a thread "sticky" so it's always towards the top? I made some baked cod tonight, using a bag of fried pork skins for "breading". It was so good. I'd love to add it for anyone that might be interested...plus I'd love to see fave…

Thank you! Now I have been schooled. :) Looks like I need to wait for the couple others I bought to ripen up some then.

I haven't really craved sweets either, but after posting my dinner last night I realized I was wayyyy under my calorie intake and macros and was in the mood for something a "little different". I whipped up some cheesecake filling, ate a small portion (all the while worrying that it would make me want more and more sweets)…

Fingers crossed those little good signs keep happening. :)

So glad you are here, Cari. :) And to glossbones...one of my guilty pleasures is joking with my family about how I don't fart anymore and they still do. Yeah, I gotta still have those childish moments from time to time. LOL

My family understands and has been witness to how much better I feel, so no issues there. I haven't really had to deal with others yet, but ones who know me probably wouldn't say anything cause they know my sarcastic nature. LOL Everyone else will depend on the mood aura and end up with a wisecrack or a condensed low carb…

Congrats!!!! :)

I've really enjoyed reading these.

These are definitely going on my shopping list!

Hi, Scorpy! You did wonderfully before and I'm sure you'll do even better this time around.

Great idea, Sabine! I'm Carol, 50, 5'0", married with 2 daughters. I've always been a yo-yo dieter, having success years ago with Weight Watchers, but no matter which diet I attempted, it failed and the weight increased to more than what it was when I started the diet. After I had stents put in a couple years ago, I was…

Glad you are feeling better. :)

I stand corrected and learned a valuable lesson in the process. Thank you. :)

I'm only 5'0" and have my calorie goal set at 1200 and have been wondering if I need it even lower than that. Amazingly, though, I've noticed I lost the most weight on days where I ate 1500 to 1600. It shouldn't hurt to test a little time with higher calories and see if that helps any.

Great to have you all here (said from another new person)!

That sounds yummmmmy!!

One I tend to go for is a taco salad style...ground beef w/spices, mixed lettuce greens and some shredded cheese.

Thanks for the welcome and kind words! AMP, feeling better and healthier is a very important thing to accomplish. Hang in there and the rest will come in time...or so I'm hoping since I seem to have stalled a bit as well.

The main one for me at the moment is seeing the significant drop in my blood sugar readings in just over a month with this woe.

A revival sounds good to me. heh 5'0" here.
