Okay thanks! I probably could get 100kg for 2 reps but is that not classed as strength training? Like should I not move up to say 90kg when I know I can get at least 8 reps (hypertrophy) :/
-
Okay got it! So go more on how I feel and just examine myself? Sounds alot better than the scale tbh
-
I do sweat plenty when training I do focus more on hypertrophy aiming for 12 reps... if I get 12 reps easy it's time to add some weight which I have been doing and making sure those last few reps are to failure. I will do that as you said and add another day into my training. I quite enjoy my pull sessions mostly out of…
-
I agree with you there yes it's not about how much you sweat but more about your form and how you execute your workout and again things like progression overload etc come into play especially for lifting weights
-
Oh believe me I do sweat in the gym lol I defo know how to train at the right intensity I include plenty of drop sets and super sets etc and working to failure on last sets etc. I always thought 3 days a week was enough as when I was with my trainer I was doing 3x a week push/pull/legs also I think because of other…

I do want to lose fat I think because previously I had lost weight and got some decent muscle around my body and now I feel more like a flump! I will have a look at the thread with the girl. It's just so frustrating when I'm like yay I feel really lean I have worked my back side off at the gym added extra weight to most…

I agree 100 percent with you there I do want to look a certain way rather than have a number on the scale. I was just meaning when I was that weight previously I felt and looked really good.
-
I haven't in a long long time I used to get my mate to do it who is a personal trainer. I always thought you could only increase muscle mass and lose weight at the same time if you were a newbie. I've been out of lifting seriously for a year so I'm not sure if that would happen again for me ?
-
Well I'm 5'2 and weigh 148lbs I'd like to get to 134lbs I'd feel comfortable at that weight. I'd love to be able to get lean enough to do a bulk one day and gain more muscle mass
-
I agree my mindset is pretty awful just now when it never used to be! I think because I was at a point last year where I was honestly in such a happy place, with my weight and shape of body and the gains I had made. I've been around the same weight for about 4/5 weeks. I do log everything and weigh everything that I eat…

I have always been into sports and fitness but took it to a new level and decided I wanted to become a personal trainer. I currently have my fitness instructor qualification and start my level 3 personal training course after Christmas. This is my why because I want to look good, feel good and encourage/help others to do…

I always thought you could do both at the same time? If your lifting weights and losing fat and your strength increases on a weekly basis does that not mean your building muscle? You need more muscle to lift heavier weights each week? Not sure but that's what I always thought 😕
-
See I've always just cooked and weighed my rice that way and 150g of cooked rice isn't that much..but raw it's a lot once it's been cooked. Or even pasta for example I always have 150g of cooked pasta after training and again weigh it after it's cooked but if I weigh it before it's cooked it's a lot more when it's cooked.…
-
Thank you! Okay so if I need say 150g of rice I should weigh 150g of rice before I cook it? It just looks like tonnes of rice after it's cooked especially to eat In one sitting
-
Thanks! A lot of the pasta etc I use doesn't actually say on the nutritional information wether it's cooked or uncooked 😕 my rice does but not the pasta or potatoes
-
Okay so on here I eat them back but if I was going to use TDEE for my calories I'd never have to eat them back because exercise calories are included in the TDEE? Wow so I've been eating 1600 calories on here and after burning 500 I could of had a little treat and didn't even know this
-
I'm just totally confused with the whole thing. My calories are set at 1600 but when I exercise I never log my calories burned and I don't eat them back. I just make sure I hit that 1600 calories each day. But does that mean say I burn 500 calories through exercise does that mean really I'm actually only eating 1100…
-
I eat more calories on training days and less on rest days ... basically I eat more to fuel my body on training days
-
This could be possible. I study fitness health and exercise. A group of us went out running using HRM's and there was an interference with some individuals HRM's due to use being in close proximity of one another, so yes it is possible.

For me personally it's Optimum Nutrition and with it being a whey protein it's absorbed and digested pretty quickly Vanilla flavour with almond milk it's nice! :)
-
Awesome thank you! :)
-
I normally have about 20-30g at each meal roughly
-
Haha okay thanks guys I wasn't sure but cheers :)
-
Okay thanks guys :)

45carbs 25protein 30fat that's my macros but I do seem to be more 40carbs 30protein 30fat and I get plenty of fruit and veg and hit fiber goal every day I don't have a problem not hitting my carb goal that's not what I'm saying or asking the question is that is eating too much protein more than needed okay for the body…
-
Why?
-
Okay thanks. I'm not over on other macros I'm under on carbs always sometimes a little over fat and mostly always over on protein. I do eat enough carbs I'm not a carb hater lol I just seem to eat/enjoy more fats and proteins than I do carbs.
-
This too ...it is infact the percentages etc that are pretty confusing for me so something pretty easy to follow would be good.

Exactly what FitGirl said! I know what I want I just want to know how to achieve it what 'programmes' are best to achieve the goals I set. I'm not trying to be *kitten* either but am not gonna sit and have someone tell me I don't know what I want. You don't even know me so how can you possibly know?
