I was briefly at 184, skinny as a rail, lots of ropy vasculature. Friends told me I was too skinny. At a certain point, one of the nutritionists I work with (who is an exercise freak and always skinny) told me in confidence he thought I looked like a prisoner of war and should add a few pounds back. I'm now at about 195…

This makes me wonder then - what's the future for FitBit? Still a market share leader, good size installed user base, but sales have lagged and margins (as you say) have gotten razor thin. Full disclosure, I own about a dozen shares of FitBit (I have a tiny portfolio outside of my 401K which I play with for fun).

Or, you could just embrace your evening snacking. Make sure you otherwise hit your macros, then make sure you have plenty of calories saved up for the evening hours. Me, I have had a thing for doritos and peanut butter cups of late.

You can dump cheese on everything. You can eat candy for breakfast. You can have cheeseburgers every day. Stuff like that. Yes, macros are important (protein and vitamins are necessary!). Otherwise, it all just boils down to calories. Sure, you can run for 10 miles and get an extra thousand calories tacked on to your…

Carbs make me happy

Why is it harder? Just restrict input or increase output until you start losing at a comfortable rate. It's not rocket science.

You don't need to exercise to lose weight (although in my personal experience exercise makes the job easier). If you "don't have time," you do what I do - set your alarm clock 30 minutes earlier so you can go for a run / walk in the morning. Swear off using elevators or escalators of any kind, ever again. Park your car…

Why didnt they say what they meant, then?

On to my second Fitbit Charge HR at this point. Seems to do everything it's supposed to, no problems.

You need to get some game bro. Confidence is what attracts girls.

Fit, normal weight people always look way more youthful than the alternative - at least to me

Cross-country skiing. If that's not available, running. Simply based on the fact these are the two most efficient ways to burn calories I'm aware of.

Yeah I've found that to be the biggest problem. At 43, my muscles, motivation, and stamina remain as high as they ever were - but my joints and connective tissue seem to be showing some definite signs of increasing fragility. Takes some getting used to.

I had a wtf day the other day, treated myself to a birthday pizookie

Why wouldn't it be right? Anyways that's five mini reeses peanut butter cups, plus change. Chin up!

Totally better for morale to weigh in the morning. Depending on your goals, of course

The best cure for bad speech is more speech. I don't support threatening people for verbalizing ideas or thoughts I disagree with, as a rule (aside from the clear "yelling 'fire' in a crowded theater" situations, that is).

That's what I would do. Hit the gym twice as hard.

I went through my KFC phase. Now I'm in a waffle and pancake phase. 'Tis all about fitting it into your calorie goals

I remember reading somewhere that after about two years of maintaining at your target weight you've at that point got your brain reset. The first couple years, though, they may be a rough ride.

I've had huge success with my FitBit. I think you just monitor closely your weight loss (or maintainance) over time and adjust as needed. For my part, I think it's been more than accurate enough.

I reserve vacations for IDGAF activities. Great example was my trip to Maui. One memorable example was my second to the last night there - I ordered a two-pound prime rib for myself, and although I shared probably a three-quarters of a pound with others at the table, I polished off the remainder. Other great treats…

Up at 5:30ish, on the bike from 6-7am, pushups and crunches after that, if my back is feeling OK, two 22 minute powerwalks during the day, maybe sneak in more crunches and pushups throughout the day to keep the blood pumping. Bed by 10:30ish. I do this 6-7 days per week. And it's not a chore at all - I really, really miss…

I wouldn't advise just ignoring the "earned" calories. Your body needs fuel for it's workouts. I agree with the idea that you shouldn't probably eat back all of them (because either there is an overestimate on the burn side or an underestimate on the intake side), but if you eat back none of them you might hurt your…
