I was walking back to my care after a run at the park a few months back and I got stopped by one of the landscapers (lawn care people) who said: "Girl you must be a tap dancer, cause you just stomped all over my heart." I just gave him a crazy look, said "ok, um, thanks" and dragged my growling dog in the direction of the…

If I were you, I'd consider doing recomp instead of trying to lose more weight. Eat close to maintenance and lift heavy, while progressively getting heavier.

I'm sorry about your husband losing his job Alisa, hopefully he will find a new one soon. I will be busy in the woods this weekend too, but I have to work Monday :grumble: through the holiday so I hope you have fun. Isabelle I request mail order brownies please . Nothing exciting today except I discovered that the…

To lose weight, eat at a calorie deficit. To gain strength and muscle definition ("tone"), lift weights. You won't gain much muscle, except for newbie gains, while lifting in a deficit but you will gain some strength and some slight muscle definition. To be most accurate with your calories, weigh all solids and measure all…

For me it depends on how sore I am and where I'm sore. I usually alternate my strength and running/cardio days too. Also a lot of times, for me anyways, going for run even if my legs are a little sore helps some of that soreness go away. Now if I'm so sore that I can hardly walk or lift my arms, then I'll take it easy that…

Did you know that antidisestablishmentarianism is the longest word in the dictionary? It is also the only word Donald Duck can say without spitting and crackling.

I'm not sure which type of "waist training" you're talking about, the type with an elastic corset (which isn't waist training at all) or the type with a lace up bone corset. If you plan to use a lace up bone corset I would consult a doctor about it and get monitored regularly while using it. It can be very dangerous to…

Depending on the speed of the current and how deep it is the day of the race, you won't have to paddle too aggressively. Try to stay in the middle of the river to avoid obstacles on either side. Also, and I say this because I'm not sure how big the rapids are but follow some of the other race goers as they go down the…

I used to have Garmin on my old phone and I really liked it, I used it when I was doing C25K by Zen Labs. Now I use Nike+ Running and I like it a bit more, mainly because I can sync it with my NTC app and with Google Fit.

My fav would have to be a toss up between squats or overhead press. I really like both, squats work pretty much all my muscles but I also really like the way my back and shoulders are starting to look from doing overhead press. So I'm going with both.

^^^^^ This.... http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1217573/so-you-want-to-start-running#latest ^^^^^ And this is a good read as well.

Stronglifts 5X5 is a good program as well, plus they have an app. Strong Curves is also a good read. And of course there are thousands of Youtube videos out there that can help too.

Hey, Decided I'd go for a short 15min run this morning, 2miles. This afternoon will be different though, I'm aiming for at least 5. Fine tuned my bow yesterday and I was practically stacking the arrows on top of each other, didn't split any though (thank goodness lol). Have a good day everyone. ~ Kris

To get strength and add muscle definition (tone), lifting weights (and progressively getting heavier) would be your best bet. If you're the type that likes cardio, you can add that into your daily routine as well, but you don't have to if you don't want to. "Healthy," eating wise, is a very loose term. Many people are…

Hey, Congrats Alisa on the pull ups yesterday, I'm jealous. My husband and I had to thin out my carrots this weekend too, loads of fun lol. Today has been a busy day, but it has still be a good day. I got my workout in this morning, and I'm planning to add in a run to my workout this afternoon as a warmup (mainly because…

I know quite a few people who need to read this article but I'm afraid they wouldn't get the hint. I like how she knew going in that this wasn't going to be healthy and was of course very skeptical about the whole thing, but after the conversation with the sales rep I would have opted out lol. That's just ridiculous to try…

Ok, that helps. Alright well first off you don't need to exercise to lose weight, just eat at a deficit. Second you can't spot reduce, the fat will come off when and where it wants to come off. Strength training is good to do while in a deficit to help keep some muscle while you're also losing fat. Lifting weights (as…

Very impressive.

Hey everyone, Whew, what a crazy day lol but it's all good now. The rest of the day is going to be a good day, this afternoon I will be fierce with my workout and then I'm going to enjoy some deer steak that I cut up yesterday. Alisa, I hope your daughter gets to feeling better soon. Hope everyone else had a good day. ~…

What are your goals? Any medical conditions or injuries that may prevent you from doing certain exercises? What exercises are you doing now?

Both of these pretty much because I am a little fierce tiger lol .
