Thanks you all. I think losing weight is hard when you are used to overeating and living to eat. But I know it’s what I want to do. Getting off the meds would be a huge win. Kudos for donating blood!

Well I’m here. I am logging food. And I need to get more familiar with it. I do see myself transitioning to something sustainable. I want to succeed. And I do enjoy the tatoes for now. Like I said they are very filling. Eating a salad always left me empty. Reading labels was a chore. I just need to figure out the right…

I forgot to mentioned I tried Slimfast with the shakes and snacks and a sensible meal. That made me feel sick. I also tried the ten day special k chaljenge which I lost six pounds in ten days. I just don’t think I’m cut out for those. I like solids lol.

Thanks for sharing about your hubby,hoffman2300. Good for him and his weight loss. I know I’m not following the true potato diet/ hack. I’m just throwing in eggs and the occasional tuna packet and seasonings. I even found sugar free ketchup. So far I’ve lost 7 pounds in six days. This upcoming week should be a challenge.…

Ok, I’ll report back on day 15th. I hope you’re feeling better theses days. I don’t think I could ever do a liquid diet unless doctor ordered

Thanks kimny72. I’ll do that. The easy part is losing. The really hard part is maintaining.

Guess we agree to disagree..... if anyone out there is currently doing this I’d love to hear from you.

Paperdoll, I just wanted to do a program that was easy. Its not only regular potatoes but sweet potatoes. Atkins made me sick and constipated. wW was too hard and involved label reading. I appreciate everyone’s comments. I think I needed a quick validation that I could lose weight.

Thanks Maureen. I too have tried WW multiple times. I had to chuckle at your mono diets. I don’t think I could do them. Tell me. Is starch that bad for you? Every one seems against it. I think you need some in your daily intake. Anyway if I quit I will concede defeat. But right now I’m happy doing it.

I’m not worried about muscles. I’m worried about diabetes and heart disease. I don’t want a gastric bypass. So I’m doing a crazy fad diet. It’s just for a little while lol. I was hoping someone else on here had tried it. I guess not.

Diets tried. WW Atkins calorie counting in general which really involved food diary like we do here. I do intend to incorporate the food groups in the future. And Exercise. And know that I’m not perfect and will fall off the wagon.

Yes two weeks. Then I will expand to fruits veggies perhaps beans lean protein almond milk nuts. So far I haven’t been bored. I do season potatoes. And the sweet tatoes are my dessert.

I’ll be honest in here. I’ve tried a lot of programs with various degrees of success. Weight watchers was too much work with the points etc. T benefit of this plan is freedom from making food choices. No longer do I have to read all those labels. No longer do I have to weigh my food. No longer do I have to endure hunger…

I’m curious. What would be a good source of information ? In the article they strongly do not recommend doing it long term. I don’t intend to do so because I know a lack of fat and protein would affect me. But it’s a choice. I don’t particularly think being eating hi protein is that great either for you but some folks…

Hi y’all I’m Nora. I’m 56. I need to lose about 100. Current weight is 275. What motivated me to start is feeling knee pain when I walk. Im graduating from college next year and I want to look good in my pictures and when I interview for a job. I’m taking high blood pressure meds and am pre diabetic. I hope to get support…

I don’t think it’s that unhealthy, to be honest. Potatoes have most of the nutrition we need. People have survived on them. And I have enough experience with weight loss programs to know it’s a challenge and what to watch out for. I’ll continue to be on here to read about other folks. Thank you all

I first heard about it when I read Kevin Smith (celebrity) had heart surgery and was told he had to lose 50 lbs. he did the potato diet and lost 20 in two weeks. He’s not on it anymore, in fact he’s doing weight watchers. Another person who claims weight loss was Penn Gillette. He claims a 100 lb loss. He eats the potatoes…

Thanks for the encouragement ! I just need to stay on this path.

Hi there. I totally appreciate what you are saying. And I agree it’s not realistic to do this for a long period of time. Let’s face it. Life gets in the way and you have parties, holidays etc. which makes it difficult. But I’m looking for something to cleanse me , satisfy my hunger and give me a boost of energy. That’s why…

Thanks! The only think is takes planning. You have to take your potatoes everywhere lol. Btw I’m 56 and wAnt to lose 100 lbs. I know it will take time. And I know I can’t keep doing this for the long term .... just enough to get inspired.
