Agreed. Especially salads. We're inclined to think that salads are healthier options but I've noticed in a lot of places it's actually less calories if you get the burger you've been eyeballing on the menu!

Yup. Restaurants are not forgiving with their food. That's why I always look up the menu first. I never go into restaurants without some sort of idea and ballpark estimate of what I'm about to eat. I can't wait for the restaurant tracker on the app to get more thorough. Until then I just use websites and smart decision…

I don't think there's any actual concrete evidence on that whole diet soda thing. At least I've never found any concrete peer reviewed evidence or articles. I love the crisp taste of soda so I like to drink diet whatever. I've been steadily losing weight. Only times I've gained it's because I slacked on logging or ate over…

I don't have a picture on my fridge but I always think back to my high school days. I was 135lbs on a 5'1'' frame. Maybe not the most fit but I remember feeling very good about myself. My current motivation is my work badge. I was 200lbs in the picture and I'm currently 166.6lbs. So I definitely don't want to go backwards.

There's no way I could stick to a diet like that. Honestly from that small amount of food, you are most likely eating more than you think. Or you're not being honest about some possible snacking going on through the day. Why exactly are you restricting yourself so much? Weight loss doesn't have to be some miserable…

Try different cooking methods. My fiance doesn't like tomatoes raw but he loves them when I cook them down and make them into a great sauce or stew them slowly. I'm not crazy about raw carrots but I love them steamed.

Personally I only use MFP for the calorie counter and the forums. That's it. Everything else that comes with premium is just not what I'm into. A lot of people say that paying for something is motivation to use it, like a gym membership, but I find it has zero effect on me lol. I paid for WW as well and while I did use it,…

You can do it!

I really dislike it. It just reminds me of my mom and her judgmental ways. I really wish there was a way to disable it.

The vitamins are not inhibiting your weight loss. That's not how they work in the body. It's more than likely you are eating more than you think. That's always my issue. It's very easy to kind of kid yourself into thinking you're doing okay when really deep down you know you haven't been logging accurately. It'll show on…

Way back when in my younger and naive days I used Slim Fast products. Let me tell you. That coffee one? That stuff literally made my urine smell like the drink. It was weird and I thought maybe I was imagining things until my friend, who was alos using the products, said the same thing. Then I went online and looked it up…

Just stick to your calorie goal and don't get discouraged when the scale moves quickly in the beginning and then stops, goes and slows after that. Your weight is going to fluctuate so much during your journey. Don't get hung up on the numbers on the scale!!
-
I'd be happy if I could get to 135lbs which was what I weighed in high school. I'm 5'1'' and I remember feeling very confident at that weight.
-
Congrats on starting! You can do this! I've been through three first days with MFP. I think it has helped me gain the momentum that I need.

I prefer a profile picture mostly because I feel like that means they actually put effort into their profile and maybe will take this seriously...? I don't know lol that's my weird logic. I just prefer to have active friends on here. I don't want people who slack off and don't log often. I mean we all get busy but I like…

Diet soda really satisfies my cravings for something sweet and something carbonated. I don't love the aftertaste though and I find that lingers for a while. I haven't seen any stalls in my weight loss from drinking diet. I've read a lot of the woo about it and it's mostly about how artificial sugars can cause weight gain…

I just wouldn't weigh myself while on crutches. I don't weigh myself very often anyway because I just want to focus on my calorie deficit and getting into good habits, not necessarily the number on the scale.

There was another thread recently with a person asking if WW or MFP would work better for her. Someone in the thread said they calculated their calories on MFP along with their point value allowance with WW and saw that they were actually eating more than their MFP goal even if they were under their points goal for WW.…

Don't focus so much on the damage and the numbers. Just focus on making better choices now and when you're better. If you start playing with numbers you're just going to make yourself feel worst. I've had bad days, hell I had a bad week just a bit ago! But I just moved on and started tightening up my logging. I really…

I have to get my engagement ring resized for a second time because of the weight I lost. I should have just waited to get it done but I was too anxious to finally start wearing it!
-
This is probably a contributing factor. The amount of food that can fit into a measuring cup, especially dry things like cereals or rice, will vary every time you scoop it. Weighing things is way more accurate. I tend to weigh my solids and scoop my liquids. I tend to weigh my salad dressings though.

I deal with this a lot. This usually means I'm craving something sweet so I save calories for dessert or maybe a small piece of chocolate like the Hershey's mini bars. It's hard to say no to yourself sometimes though. But willpower doesn't get any stronger unless you exercise it!

Aww. I loved that television show. As for OP, just eat the cheese? Work it into your calories. I buy the Babybel cheese wheels in bulk and keep them in my fridge. I have probably one or two a day because I love me some cheese.

Water is basically the foundation of most drinks that you consume. I drink tea or I flavor my own water with fruit. I keep a waterbottle handy while at work so I don't forget to drink in between working.
-
Feel free to add me if you'd like! I too suffer from anxiety and depression and have been trying to slowly overcome it.

I've lost ~8lbs (can't remember what my tracker says) and my coworkers have been making comments. One of my supervisors especially but I think she's doing it to be catty. Either way I still accept the praise.
-
I would only track the cream and sugar to be honest.
-
Do you have a recipe to share? I LOVE savory breakfast muffins. As for the OP: I usually just eat a banana with peanut butter. It's my favorite and it's filling. If I don't want something sweet that morning I grab a breakfast sandwich from the freezer. I make my own, calculate them, and then pop them in the freezer.
-
I really wish they would implement something where I can "favorite" entries. I eat a lot of the same things through out the week and I hate having to try and track down something I used a few days ago. If this already exists, please tell me!

Are we the same person? lol If I would have kept going with WW 3 years ago I would have hit goal a long time ago. Instead I got lazy and gave up but luckily didn't gain anything back. Just didn't lose like I wanted. Now I'm back at it again and doing really well with MFP. I do the same thing, too. I look at success stories…
