  • I’ve just started (again!) but this morning I was at the zoo with the little boy I look after and was overcome with hunger suddenly. Nothing available was healthy other than a very small basket of fruit. I had an apple and passed over the chocolate croissants and pastries and chicken and everything. Small thing but…
  • I am also starting over.... feel free to add me. Always good to have extra support!
  • I’m starting again (for the....millionth time) from scratch so my first mini goal is to get to the end of the day without breaking. Second mini goal is to lose the first 7lbs, because it’s always a motivation booster, then 3rd mini goal is to go the next 30 days without any added sugar in my diet.
  • Well, I completed my last mini goal which was to lose 15lbs before I go home at the end of may (I'm in the USA for work, and I've been since the beginning of April). Woo hoo! Next mini goal is to get out of the obese BMI (4 more lbs) then to lose 10% of my overall body weight (6 more lbs). Setting myself these mini goals…
  • My most recent NSV, I had my dominos order on the phone screen in front of me for lunch, I was just about to press the confirm button, and "treat myself" then I saw the little "nutrition" button at the bottom of the screen, so I thought oh go on then, I'll have a quick look. My meal (I can eat a lot of dominos!) would have…
  • Oh man, yep, I think it was last summer or Maybe the summer before l was heading back home from a BBQ and yes I had eaten a lot and had a few beers, but I got on a tram which was quite busy and a lady (a lot older than me) stood up to give me her seat. I politely declined wondering why, and about 5 mins later it suddenly…
  • Yes exactly. It's ADDED sugar that's the problem not sugar found in actual food like fruits/veggies and also dairy. A good rule of thumb for dairy I was told by a dr was that around 6 grams per 100 grams (6%) is naturally occurring sugar. Anything above that is added, so things like fruit flavoured yogurts are terrible for…
  • I woke up this morning at 202.8, I want to get back into one-derland by this time next week!! Would be great! Then after that is to lose another 5lbs by the end of may, then to get out of the obese BMI category. Lots of mini goals!!
  • Oooh, this is a good thread. I love reading about everyone's reasons to lose weight. For me I've been on a decade long journey of yo-yo dieting, I've tried every diet known to man kind, and gain it all back again. Everyone says "lifestyle change" and I heard it, but I didn't really hear it. This clicked for me last year. I…
  • Oh and regarding food choices, plan plan plan. Make a 2 week rolling plan of what you can take with you. Doesn't have to be a salad every day, you could make wraps, quinoa salad, leftover pasta, maybe give yourself one meal per week that you can still have a take away at work, or a subway, but planning and proper prep here…
  • I work usually 60/65 hours a week, 12 hours a day, sometimes also overnights. You just have to commit to going, it's not easy but if you really want to do it, then you gotta do it. Look at your shifts, and decide when will work. Remember you don't have to do hours and hours of cardio.... lift weights instead and a bit of…
  • My new mini goal is to drop 15lbs by June 15th. I am currently in the USA (I live in Europe) and I am dating a guy who I won't have seen for 3 months, so would love to look a little lighter by the time I next see him.
  • I was diagnosed about 7 years ago with BED/compulsive overeating. I never sought any help about it though because I was in denial, then I moved overseas. I am so sick of this ruining my life. I go through phases. I'll be able to control it for months at a time and have no binges, and feel so much better about myself and so…
  • What mini goal is motivating me? Getting started....again. All over again! Urgh. In September I was doing really well, I had lost around 30lbs, and all of a sudden those 30lbs are back and here I am Again. I just need to get started again. The first 5lbs. I guess that's my mini goal. Then to get back below 200lbs. Again…
  • I love this thread. Great seeing everyone's goals. Next goals are to lose 3 stone (3lbs away) and then 20% of my body weight (5lbs away). I was also going through my "skinny clothes@ drawer the other day and I can fit into some of my stuff but there is a really nice dress in there I really want to get back into!! Probably…
  • Well, I managed this goal as well. Got back on Wednesday from a month in the USA, and basically ate whatever the heck I wanted for 2 of those weeks. I only gained 3lbs in a month when realistically I expected to gain around 10lbs haha. So yay. My next goal is to start feeling more energetic in myself, and get to a 50lb…
  • Darn it. I typed out a whole piece to go with my above quote. Gargh. Anyway....it went something along the lines of don't worry about yesterday, draw a line under it, move on, and focus on next week instead. Make a plan of what you'll eat for the next week and it's one less thing to focus on, and will take the added stress…
  • Awww. So sorry to hear about your cat.
  • Hmmmm, well my waistline is saying otherwise haha. Anyway, it will be fine I'm sure. Once im back I'll cut out the sugar again and get back on it!!!
  • I will be properly back in about 10 days once I get home. It's just too hard to log and weigh myself and food etc when I'm not in control of what goes in it, plus I'm enjoying myself! Haha. Can someone pleeeease tell me Panda Express is the healthiest take out in the world and I'll be happy?! Hahahaha.
  • And yesterday I did he equivalent of 62 flights of stairs in San Fransisco! Those hills are a killer!!!
  • Great to see this thread is still going!! :D this whole not being able to weigh myself is killing me!! I'm quite sure I've gained weight, but I don't know how much. Grrrr.... On another note, I'm pretty proud of this from my Fitbit the other day.....
  • Pfffft. No. Some days I hold onto more water. I plateaued a few weeks ago, for more than a week, and then started losing again. Weight loss isn't linear. And I don't know anyone who sticks to the exact same amount of calories per day and does the exact same amount of exercise per day. Personally my calorie intake varies…
  • I hope you're right!!! I can keep my portion sizes under control. Whenever I travel to the USA, and eat out, I cannot. Seriously USA.....I know everything is bigger there but there are some things that do not need to be as big as they are! I remember my shock the first USA trip of my friend ordering a small pizza for 3 of…
  • Haha. That's why these types of threads are here though, to motivate others. Hopefully you can read through some of them and find that inner motivation and go go go!
  • I made egg fried rice, tofu, green beans and corn with a bit of soy sauce. Random mix, was using what's in the fridge. Haha
  • I will be travelling to the USA (I live in Europe) leaving on Monday and will be gone for a month. 2 weeks working, and have little control over what I eat, and 2 weeks vacation. Vacation time will be even harder as I'm in hotels and whatever. Plus I (probably like everyone here) love food, and half of the fun of visiting…
  • You can do it!! Add some friends, feel free to add me if you like, and check back into the community area. This time with more people on my profile it feels so much more motivating!!!
  • Definitely not. It's totally up to you what you put into your body. For some people cutting out certain foods helps them, for other people eating everything in smaller portions is what works. If you don't want something because you decide that's the right choice for you, don't let people tell you otherwise.
