I spend 4 days at NYCC every year (adjust following adive for SD!) and *always* bring my own food and water; (more than anything else because there's no way in the formless abyss that I'm paying convention center food prices. $10 burger? NUH-UH). I tend to bring anything that'll pack flat (sandwiches, protein bars, etc.)…
