You can edit the name of the recipe to reflect the serving size, e.g. "Soup 1.5 cups".

You might find it useful (I did) to log everything you're eating now, before starting weight loss. This will help to pinpoint what you can (or wish to) tweak, as well as teaching you how to log.

I'd recommend reading all the stickies at the top of the boards, set reasonable goals and log accurately. Then, if you have a specific question, people on MFP are very helpful. It's hard to guess what's going on otherwise.

I track because not tracking got me here in the first place.

Thanks for the link. Part of my therapy when I was relearning to walk was to sit outside a coffee shop and watch passers-by walking, and imagine that my legs were doing the same. I can't say that this made a huge difference as I was having lots of other therapy at the same time, but this article certainly makes sense to me.

Thanks @middlehaitch! I'm still getting used to it being there but can't wait to show it off when summer comes :-)

The best one is the one you can stick to, and nobody else can tell you that.

I have Bodylastics, and although the over-the-door thingie was fine, I recently got the full bondage door attachment. There are some great workouts on YouTube, search for LiveExercise.

Oh @rabbitjb, I do like that chart! Based on that I have decided I'm not fat, I'm just not old enough :-)

Offer to point him in the direction of facts. This will leave him still feeling he's in control, as you aren't actually telling him what to do. If he says no, then ask him not to discuss it with you further and reinforce this every time he tries.

I found it useful at the beginning to log everything I ate accurately, without making any changes. Looking at the stark figures at the bottom of my food diary helped me to figure out what I needed to change in order to reach the macro goals (fat, protein, carbs) MFP had set. Much later, I changed MFP targets to something…

My tip would be to start acting and singing lessons, so that you'll be ready to audition for "The Simpsons - The Musical" (no body/facepaint will be needed).

I wouldn't tell myself anything. Partly because, good or bad, I've learned something from every experience. Mostly because meh, younger me wouldn't listen to some ol' lady telling me what to do or giving me her opinion.

It's having an MFP Moment™. My online dashboard says I've lost 0lb but the app shows the true loss. It's happened before and it will happen again, and searching the help pages shows that the user is blamed every time ;-)

I use a vacuum sealer to save room. I don't vacuum soups, just seal them, because...well, I learned the hard way about liquids and vacuum sealers :-/

Other than milk for my coffee, I've blown every single calorie on pancakes today and thoroughly enjoyed them :-)

You're welcome!

A desk job is classed as sedentary. If you've told MFP that you're active it will give you more calories than sedentary. * Sedentary: Spend most of the day sitting (e.g. bank teller, desk job) * Lightly Active: Spend a good part of the day on your feet (e.g. teacher, salesman) * Active: Spend a good part of the day doing…

Mine's out all the time as I weigh my pets' food too, and I log on my phone as I'm weighing (my food, not the pets!). It really doesn't matter how you do it though, and doesn't have to be complicated.

Right now it's Gü, all the Gü.

Despite drooling over this thread for the past day, I just went to the store and passed the Oreos by to get to the Belvita Soft Bakes. I'm feeling uber-virtuous at the moment, although I do have to go back to the store tomorrow...

My scale is bluetooth enabled, so the app tells me how much battery life is available.

Selfishly, I like it when people who I want to be like when I grow down show that it's not always "easy". Keep being human - well, as human as a rabbit can be.
-
Unfortunately no ;-)

I've seen Oreo in the shop but never bought any. Why would I want to, when we have the chocolaty deliciousness that is Bourbon?

In for the uniforms...

All the knowledgeable people here say that HRMs are only accurate for steady state cardio (I have no idea what SSC is though, so I'm not much help sorry!)

Although we don't get much extreme weather, I use Musher's Secret if the gritters/salters have been out (mainly because dog shoes look like thigh-high boots on Diva's little legs) http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003UCKP0A?

You can certainly edit recipes on the website and Android app . There's an edit link next to where it says how many ingredients there are on the website, and a pencil icon on the app.
