Just to throw a spanner in the proverbials, there's a Stone of Scone too (don't try to eat this one!)

2lb in 2 weeks is awesome! The only thing you need to change is your expectation.
-
Hehehe I've got used to them at home (I can't do proper spuds), but oh boy do I notice the difference when my brother or a carer cooks for me!

Part of the British tradition is that everybody's mum makes the best roasties. Every one of them does it differently too. Fortunately, for a consistent recipe we all have an Aunt Bessie...

First off, well done on your recovery! I can't help you with regards to using scales in your situation, but there are other ways to measure loss if you're uncomfortable with weighing yourself. Using a tape measure, or checking on clothing tightness/looseness are two that I can think of. Hopefully someone else, with more…

I count all the oil, even the oil that doesn't get soaked up. I reckon this will make up for times when I may be accidently under-logging.
-
Oh sheesh, I've only just been able to disconnect the thought of cricket bats (my brothers used linseed (flaxseed) oil on them) when I eat my seeds!. My brain doesn't have room for new information today.
-
One of the best things (IMO) about logging is being able to see the macro breakdown of a meal. Can you look and see if you've eaten meals that make you feel more full? I know that meals with higher proteins and fats keep me satisfied for longer, and maybe you can identify which macro balance helps you too.

LOL yes, a lot different! Mind you, I hang out on davidbowie.com message boards too, and some of the conspiracy/connections being made there are blowing my mind (from 'blackstar' being a type of tumour, to Elvis's song Black Star being about cancer - plus they share a birthday, to hidden messages in lyrics) so I'm happy…

I'd give you extra steps just for using the word 'malarkey', as it's one of my faves! I don't have a fitbit, but I've seen knowledgeable posters on here say that fitbit 'learns' over time. I don't know if that refers to steps or just calories burned.

Hehe I'm British, cups are for tea ;-)

There a few different methods for weighing. I build sandwiches on the scale, taring in between ingredients.
-
Double check the MFP entries that you've used against the package or another source, as some of them are way out. Also check the weight of the items you've used against the weight of the items in the recipe. Other than that, don't go off-plan with the recipe ;-)

@middlehaitch I kinda wish I hadn't posted it, because it's started me blubbing again xxx

It's a Blackstar. Great thread.

If this is a recurring issue for you I'd suggest journalling your feelings as they happen, either in the note section of your food diary or somewhere else. If you're ever tempted to do this again you'll be able to look back and see exactly how it made you feel when you did it previously, and may make it easier to resist.…

2 single No6 and three single matches could be bought from Nellys sweetshop. And a bottle of Thunderbird from the offy next door. I always was a classy bird :-/

Everyone I know pronounces it Woostah Sauce, similar to the third audio down here http://dictionary.cambridge.org/pronunciation/english/worcestershire-sauce

It's reviews of diets.

I've recorded it. There was too much not enough Bowie on telly last night to watch anything else.

I don't think it's just that people are looking for an easy solution. I think a lot of it is about responsibility/blame. Even if it's not always vocalised, it's much easier to convince ourselves "I'm overweight, because I didn't pay money for <product>" than it is to admit "I'm overweight, because I ate too much or moved…

I just parcel it in foil with a splash of lime juice, but I do that with all fish. I'm not very adventurous!
-
Thanks again! I'm having a bad day today (I'm a massive David Bowie fan and he's just died) so might have to come back to this another time xx
-
@ZeroDelta Thank you so much for taking the time to do that! This is going to be my project for next week :-)

Burgen soya and linseed Edit: Linseed = flaxseed

Oooh I've got one of those (Dymo LabelWriter 450) but never thought to do this! Do you create your own barcode with it? If not, how do you scan the barcode to the Dymo software? I've only used it to import Christmas card address labels from Excel!
-
Another option, if you really are weighing everything, is that you're choosing the wrong things from the database. Unfortunately, the database here is a real mess and can't be relied upon - including the "verified" options and results from barcode scans. Double check the data that MFP gives you against the packet or the…

If I fancy some hot chocolate at 3 a.m and it will take me over my calorie goal for the day I'll log it in tomorrow's (technically, today's) diary. If I can fit it in the previous day's diary and not go over my goal I'll log it there. As long as my weekly deficit is good I'll lose weight, but I don't like to see the red…

BBC 2 I think, if not BBC 1 (can't check now, because I'm playing a game on the telly).

Info for those who don't know about "naughty but nice": It was the strapline for an ad campaign for fresh cream cakes, written by Salman Rushdie (before Satanic Verses!), and it was very popular.
