Btw, happy birthday and thanks for accepting me as a friend.

The way that I do the weigh in is either once or twice a week, in the morning after using the restroom, before I eat or drink anything and completely naked. It's strange but your pj's can really add a lot of weight, a pound or two. You also want your system to be as empty as possible because then you know it's actually…

Had a new weight loss today, now a total of 9 pounds. Doesn't seem like a whole lot but when prior to starting with MFP I was hovering over the same 5 back and forth for 4 years, it's amazing. So my wife and I went over to the pool and did some swimming. I walked in the water for 50 minutes and burned off 676 calories! I…

One of the other responders said this is not a dating site and I have to agree with her. This is just for losing weight. If you are cruising around the boards and you see someone who has goals similar to yours send them a friend request. No one is going to think you are hitting on them.

I'm a gay female. Married for almost 15 years and even though my wife could care less that I'm fat, I care. I started approx 40 days ago and have lost almost 8 lbs. Where are you in your journey?

I'm bad, I would've entered the four pound loss!

I'm not sure more true words were ever spoken. I have cut out Pepsi for at least 3 weeks now, which I swore I never would. It's made such a difference and I don't even crave it. Whenever we go out, I just get water, it's such a waste of calories to drink soda - 150 for 12 oz! I also, just bought a food scale through…

What an awesome tip, thanks!

Does anybody find that they get really sick (diarrhea) when you eat not so healthy foods? My body hates it.

I see many people saying that they celebrate in increments of 5 or 10 lbs. Honestly, I take any weight loss as a victory. I don't care if it's 1 lb., .5 or even .2, it all adds up to a larger number coming off and that is worthy of a Snoopy Dance!

I have a recipe similar to this but quite a bit more complicated, I'm going to try this version. Thanks for posting! (Red bell pepper in them was a total hit with my family.)

Wow, some of you have really made progress and look really awesome. I'm 5'5 and I started 38 days ago, I have been working to stay within my calories. It's a hard road for sure but it's worth following. I've lost 7.6 lbs so far and I will keep fighting.

Hi there from Indiana. Have a great 4th of July!

Way to show love to your sister, give her the foods that tastes horrible!

I had 8 wheat thins crackers with a tablespoon of peanut butter. Looking back on it I think maybe I should've had oatmeal instead. First thing I've eaten all day. I was hungry.

I hope this thread isn't dead! I have over 100 lbs to lose. I started just over a month ago and have lost 7 lbs so far but my goodness is it hard work!

Don't leave the house without some type of healthy snack pre-portioned out. My favorites are string cheese, grapes or apples, greek yogurt, and nuts. It makes eating right a lot easier when you are ready for battle.[/quote] What a great idea!

That's for all your tips. I started just over a month ago and I have been estimating so far, and it has worked. Although, I did figure eventually I would have to buy the scale. I am very lucky as my wife has joined me on the get more healthy/lose weight journey and sometimes she cooks instead of me but we plot out every…

I wish there was someone who worked for MFP who would go in and check nutritional values/calorie counts/duplicate entries. It would be very helpful.

[quote="Danilynn1975; I actually own 4 food scales, 1 that travels, 1 at the office and 2 in the kitchen. Their batteries are changed the 1st day of every month whether they need it or not. They are also all the same brand and identical. I'm a lab tech and have used the calibrated weights to check their accuracy, they are…

Can't believe the transformation. How wonderful for you. I think your "fat arms" look really good!

A woman wrote that the handicapped stall is not for overweight people. She needs to realize that being severely overweight/obese IS a handicap! I will use that stall as I please until I no longer need it.

I did use spironolactone for approx 2 years and I seemed to develop a resistance to it although it did work at first.

Just starting out. Remember every journey has many steps but the only way to get to the end is to take those steps. Don't look at the end and think it's too hard you'll never get there. Concentrate on what is in front of you at that moment. It's one day at a time and make the most of that day. If you mess up immediately…
