Turkey patties (like for turkey burgers) are my secret weapon. 35g protein (=140cal) 200 total cal, so 70% of cals from protein. Beautiful. Trader Joe's has super cheap ($6/bag, and a bag is like 2 meals if you get some veggies) Grilled Chicken Teriyaki. Basically pure protein (if you don't put the sauce on -- but the…

> I hate exercise This is the first thing I addressed when I started. For me, the key to dealing with food is to be able to adjust my exercise accordingly. At a 500cal/day deficit, I feel starved if I meet that deficit by eating less (or eating lots of high-fiber vegetables). If I eat normally and simply burn 500cal, I…

Day to day, no saving. Also it yells at you if you eat under 1200 calories (certain public health reports suggest that <1200 calorie diets be supervised by a medical professional. OTOH there are plenty of intermittent fasters who swear by it so ymmv)

Pasta with marinara Rice with teriyaki chicken if you find you just can't eat enough, go to a Russian store and pick up some Kvas. It's basically liquid rye bread. I drink it if I need carb calories and can't face eating any more food. Also it's delicious.

I think this is…

It looks like much of the research on dietary sodium comes from trials involving hypertension (high blood pressure -- source: http://www.health.harvard.edu/newsletter_article/sodium-salt-and-you). I haven't identified any research on sodium intake with exercise: the 2,300 figure assumes some mild exertion, but if you're…

As a point of comparison, GNC Whey Protein Isolate clocks in at 4.64 cal per 1g of protein

> I'm challenged by a sweet tooth and lack of willpower! And the excellent (but typically unhealthy) food on the cape (fried cod; lobster with buttah;). I'll be at the cape next week, and am not looking forward to the temptation. Log everything. One problem with WW is that the 'point system' rewards you for foods with…

I actually blogged my first couple of weeks, both as an incentive to keep going and so I could look back on it: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/bored_geek?page=2 It's crazy how after only a couple of days exercises that felt like a life-threatening illness became not so bad. After two weeks of working out, I had developed…
