Griffinca2. It would be an honor. Thank you

Mk2loser:: thank you!!! That is what I was looking for. It is not anger that sparks eating poorly, but worry. Health issues with family and being in the sandwich generation makes for a lot of people to take care of. Plus my profession is one that requires daily problem solving for many who require care. That is what…

Thereshegoesagain. I have been trying to send a friend request to you! The system appears down. Would love to incorporate swimming into my routine. We are similar in age and you have been so successful. I would love to hear more of your journey. K

Have lost 33 lbs in the last year but have not lost any more since December. I am fighting to maintain. I lost my drive and momentum to keep losing. I need some inspiration and tips to get back on track.

Lonely Wombat:: WELCOME!! How did you lose the ability to get out and about? That is the first ? I have. Secondly, you will see on this message board that we all take it one day at a time. Don't be scared. Anxiety lessens with a plan and a goal. Start small. Big grandiose plans often fail. What is one thing that you are…

Cobourg: I understand how the weekends can be challenging. Maybe you could sign up for a few 5 K charity walks this summer. Use the weekends to train and find new and interesting places to get out in nature and walk. Your busy schedule and lifestyle may be hindering your weight loss. Managing stress is key. What do you do…

Where is everyone? How are you all doing with your goals? What is everyone over 60 doing to stay fit? Those of us in the midwest are waiting for spring to show up. Snow and ice in April makes outdoor activities difficult but it looks like this week may be a turning point. Come on sunshine!!!

First, get inspired. Read about others that have successfully lost weight and got healthy. Then begin to give yourself positive messages about health and strength. Then visualize yourself at your goal. Secondly, prepare your environment. Get your kitchen in order, get a food scale and stock up on healthy food choices.…

You are correct. It is less than 2% additives. Breakstone was always my favorite. I may go back!!!
-
Agree with sylkates. Likely culprits.
-
Strawberry jello with fresh strawberries and chocolate whipped cream is awesome and low calorie.
-
Don't think it would be a bad idea to see your doctor.
-
Awesom!!! What time frames and other specifics about diet and exercise could you share that might motivate us all!
-
I look at the ingredients before buying. Breakstone has too many additives. Daisy has only 3 ingredients. Taste is important but so is keeping it healthy.

Thank you all so much! So much wisdom so quickly. I will implement your suggestions and knowledge and see if it makes a positive impact on energy and weight loss.

Recently went from1200 up to 1400 after 35 lb weight loss. I still have 10-15 lbs to loss. So according to the above calculations in the article I should hit around 70 grams of protein a day.
-
Thank you all. This is great information and regardless of the exact formula, I am falling way short on protein consumption. Yikes!

What discipline!!!

Happy Birthday!!! What a great present! Good job!

Buy a fitbit or similar device. They are very motivating and make counting steps and activity fun. It pairs nicely with MFP. You just have to be in competition with yourself. Increase your total steps a little each day or week. You get a weekly report showing your calorie in / calorie out deficit as well as many other…

Griffinca2:: Yes, I would be interested in that type of magazine. I find anything inspirational along this journey helps to keep me motivated. I take what positives I can gather from any form of health info and ignore the rest. We've all lived long enough to be able to put it all in perspective. But I think the positives…

Thank you Ann! It's just nice to hear how someone else is succeeding to reinforce that I am doing just fine. It also does demonstrate that it is not the food or diet since you ate similarly all these years. Btw. You are not an old lady. If you are then I am. ( she says with great denial). Thanks so much for your insight!!

Ann PT77. I have been seeing you on here for awhile. You and I are close in age and started weight loss around the same time. But I am down 35 and you 60!!! That is awesome! Could you share your success formula with us? Im slowing down this winter and need some new ideas

Definitely get a Fitbit! Very motivating.
-
Awesome job , but would love more of your story. The journey , I know, is not easy. I would love to hear the day to day details!!

To Calm and Peaceful. I think it is normal to start many times. Life gets in the way. Something clicked for me last May and I have not missed a day and am down 35 lbs. Do not get discouraged and give yourself positive messages.( it really works) I read 3-4 autobiographies on peoples weight loss journeys before beginning…

Triplestep: Yes, I agree! I always read too much and made it all so complicated that I self sabatoged. I cannot tell you how enlightening this experience has been. Why the heck didnt I understand this sooner? I do not feel deprived. I eat whatever I want but stay within my calorie allowance. It is Calories in/ Calories…

Gdadki. I have lost 33 lbs since the end of May 2015. Slow and steady. Just follow MFP guidelines and exercise. I have just walked a ton. Another tool that has been a huge motivator is my Fitbit. I did get the Fitbit scale half-way through and that is fun as well. And lastly, I read the MFP message boards every morning to…
