  • Weigh myself once every few weeks or so. I like seeing a bigger shift in the numbers, and day to day fluctuations are meaningless anyway. I tend to measure shorter term progress by how loose my belt feels. The belt don't lie!

  • Well BMI tends to overstate how fat tall and muscular people are, and understates how fat short and non-muscular people are. If you're a female, your BMI is almost certainly understating how fat you actually are.
  • Like bananas, many apple varieties, potatoes, oats, leeks, peanuts, strawberries, ginger, watermelons etc? Plants *have* to have more proteins than animals because they require all the cellular machinery to carry out photosynthesis. I don't get why you think more proteins = bad?
  • I'm in. I reckon 50% of my excess weight is directly attributable to alcohol and the other 50% to poor food choices and sloth as an indirect result.
