You do not want to take in too few of calories because your body will adapt and your metabolism will slow down unless you do a protein sparing modified fast, where most of your calories come from protein. Also, you want to lift weights if you are restricting calories because otherwise the weight you are loosing will be a…

This means that performing exercise on an empty stomach…

I would not worry about your weight. Weight fluctuates a few pounds daily because of water weight. Just look at yourself in the mirror to judge and only weigh yourself every few weeks.

I mentioned this in the other thread, "Intermittent fasting has helped me. I will send you some articles on it. Basically you have a feeding window and fast the rest of the day. My feeding window is between 12:30pm and 7:30pm. During this time I take in all my calories for the day. As long as you eat healthy and stay away…

Counting the calories I ate the previous night for the current morning is working well. I was loosing fat slowly but now I am dropping fat much quicker. I have now dropped 6 percent in 6 months, which I think is pretty stellar.

I have a steady supply of bananas and apples at my disposal, readily available in a location easier to get to than the refrigerator. Lately I have been hitting the fruit up faster than anything from the refrigerator. So, as long as I have them stocked up I will be good to go for now. I will give an update in a week or two…

I am trying to chew gum when I wake up but its not working. I have made sure there is fruit easily assessable for me, that way instead of eating cookies I will eat a banana.

I love tuna noodle casserole. After I read some more articles and found out that it might be a mental illness I have been trying to tell myself when I wake up. Ash, you do not need food, food is fule and you are topped off, you are going to mess up your macros eating a bunch of carbs... its not working yet but I hope it…

Just use the exercise portion of MFP and input your exercise there.

Like the other guys said, increase your protein consumption to spur protein synthesis and it will heal your muscles quicker. Also, flexall will help and make you smell minty fresh.

If you work out it is good to do carb loading on the weekend but I do not think carbs from beer are quality carbs, stick with the hard liquor. I have read how many people start their carb loading Friday night and end it Saturday Night, 24-36 hours of carb loading. They make their workout right before the carb loading phase…

Gale Hawkins, what do you mean by " In hindsight I expect I had a fatty liver and it took months to recover and start my ketone creation in a meaningful way."

Yes on both accounts. My favorite game is Final Fantasy 6 and the game I am currently playing is Dragon Age: Inquisition. As for anime I watch Naruto, Is it Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon, World Trigger and a few others. My favorite anime is Cowboy Bebop.

Scales that show your body-fat are notoriously incorrect. I bought an expensive scale that has a lot of different features and one of them is to test your BMI. It says I am 30% bf. I was perplexed with this figure so I did a tape test and it showed me at 21% bf. I then purchased some calipers on bodybuilding.com and when…

I guess the protein is supposed to convert to glucose but even that has controversies around it. Some people say it does happen and others say it does not.

I try not to use extra oil, just enough for the item(s) I am cooking. If I use a tablespoon of olive oil I count the entire tablespoon, a lot of it gets absorbed into what I am cooking. If there is a good amount left and you are cooking something like chicken breast that will not leave a lot of excess moisture behind you…

That is what that Oxford Journal study I posted in the beginning of the thread stated.

I just came across an article from the Oxford Journal. Basically there is a metabolic adaptation that takes place with severe caloric reduction, 1000-1200 calories consumed per day but exercise reduces the effect of the metabolic adaptation. I am still having trouble finding out information about, at what level of caloric…
