  • I have a 1200 calorie limit, so I walk 3-5 miles a day so that I have calories for a bigger dinner & coffee add ins. Or it helps offset any inaccurate logging. I do moderate pace (3.5mph) and it takes 45 minutes to 1 hour. It helps with my mood and stress, so it helps with emotional eating. I recommend using the…
  • What sort of "bread" do you eat with it, and what does it cost you calorie wise? Because a slice of toast is relatively low calorie, but if by "bread" you mean a pastry...that's a whole different story!
  • I don't drink soda anymore. I'd rather eat my calories than drink them. I still eat pasta occassionally, but not the monster portions I used to eat. I bulk up an Italian meal with mushrooms and other vegetables, so it doesn't feel skimpy.
  • My goal is 50lbs by next April (2017). I will be taking couples portraits to celebrate my 10th anniversary. Very doable, so here's hoping! Best wishes to you!
  • Thanks. I'm just wondering if or how much my PCOS is affecting my BMR. Still losing weight, but if I knew the number I would adjust accordingly. It seems I've got to set my goal at 2 pounds a week in order to lose .5-1 lb a week. That's ok for me. I assume its inaccurate logging, but wonder if the PCOS is a factor.
  • I'm bad... 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream and 2 teaspoons sugar. Puts it at around 150 calories. Sometimes, I put pumpkin pie liquor. Shhhhhh
  • That's how I end up eating naturally. I eat a big breakfast around 10 or 11(when I feel hunger pangs), then lunch/dinner at 3ish, and a small bite around 5. So there is a 15 or 16 hour fast between my evening snack and my next day's breakfast.
  • I did not say Carbs were the most caloric, just that they were very caloric. The salad I eat almost daily has 300 calories, and it fills a very large bowl. It's about 4 cups of food. A cup of white rice has 200 calories. I can eat an entire meal for 100 calories more. The goal is to eat enough to satisfy you within your…
  • Once I hit "healthy" range I'll stop. Ha Ha. The BMI chart says 145 would put me in the upper range of "healthy" but I think 150 is a good weight for me, given my body type and skeletal structure. Best wishes on meeting your goal!
  • I started at 228 and my first goal is to reach 174 (to push me out of the obese range). So, I have 15 pounds left I think? I've lost almost 40. Once I hit my first goal, I will work on my final goal of 150.
  • High carb foods are usually very caloric, so cutting back on them is a good tool for keeping calories low. A large salad will have the same amount of calories as a serving of rice, with the salad being more filling. On a 1200 calorie diet, you must be VERY selective with your food and choose filling options.
  • Oh, this also is partly to blame for the crazy amount of weight gain after a cheat meal. The stored carbohydrates bring with them lots of water, so even if the meal didn't put you 7000-10500 over your maintenance, you still gain 2-3 pounds due to all the stored water.
  • Carbohydrates are stored as glycogen in the liver and muscles to be used as energy. With this glycogen is LOTS of water. Each gram of glycogen is bound to 3-4 grams of water. When you start eating a low carb diet, your body will go into your glycogen stores and use them up. Those water grams also leave with it. Hence, you…
  • Have you tried the Bagel Thins? They are around 100 calories. I ate them 3-4 times a week when I first started. I love cinnamon raisin bagels with butter, so I would eat it at breakfast. The bagel, plus butter (.5 tablespoon), plus my fried egg (used nonfat cooking spray) was only around 250 calories. I've got "deal…
