Best of luck Steve!

I agree with you that unless there were other medical factors, that i should not be considered a candidate for WLS. Nor would I seek it at this point for what its worth.

Everyones build and body shapes are different. I am about 100lbs over weight at 258lbs. I am also 5'8. The before profile could be me. My chest might a bit bigger but otherwise very similar to my shape.

Wow do I get what you are saying. I am nearly 50 and food has always been my comfort and my friend. I am not going to say that I have this mastered but right now I take it one day at a time. I am focusing on eating well, getting in physical activity and adding like minded folks to my MFP friend list so that we can support…

Follow the plan. It will work for you. I would also urge you to research ways to manage stress. Sometime the stressors cannot be eliminated but we can manage how we respond to it. Yoga, meditation, talk therapy, bubble baths, deep breathing, kickboxing...dind what works for you.

Hey I get it. There is a lady at my work that had WLS a while back and has lost a tremendous amount of weight. Nearly 200lbs gone in a matter of months. She is close to het doctors goal to be eligible for skin removal surgery. Trust me when I say that I am sick and tired of hearing her give nutritional/food/diet advice to…

I will send you a friend request. My diary is open so you can look at my meals for ideas. What limits did the dr set for you? Many mornings I eat 1/2 cup of old fashioned oatmeal made with 1/2 cup 2% milk and 1/2 cup of blueberries.

Bijarkhan, how about 10 years ago I lost 80lbs and then fell so hard that I gained back 100lbs! Talk about feeling bad. I felt so bad that it has taken me 10 years to really find my mojo again. I did some half hearted attempts and lost 10 or 12 lbs each time but just didn't stick with it. I am 3 weeks in and feel so…

Hey! I am back at this again after a few false starts over the years where I would lose a few pounds and then fall off the wagon. I've been back 3 weeks or so. I will send you a friend request so that we can support and motivate each other!
-
(((Hugs))) I could have written this post! I am right there with you sister. I started back on MFP just 3 weeks ago myself and this time my focus on my health and not my appearance. I am going to send you a friend request. Let's support each other along the way!

I will send you a friend request.

Welcome and congrats on starting!

I too am an emotional eater. You can do this. We need to find different ways of managing our emotions that don't include food. I will send you a friend request 😊

Yes! I love leaving another "decade" behind. I focus on moving from one decade to another. Makes it so much more doable for me versus thinking about where I am to my final goal.

Hey add me! I have been back on MFP about 20 days and have 100lbs or so to lose. I love motivation and support -- to give and receive!

Hi! I have about 100lbs to lose. I've been back on MFP for about 20 days. I tried sending friend requests to everyone on this thread so far. I hope I did it right. If not, please friend me!

Well done! You are off to a great start!

For me the key is really good shoes. I've had luck with Vionic, Hotter and Aetrex. I also avoid going barefoot except in the shower. I keep a pair of Vionic flip flops by my bed and I slip them on when I get up. They are my "house shoes". I never ever wear cheap, flat shoes, sandals or flip flops. I've been pain free for a…

I sent you a request! I am 49 with 100lbs to lose and my diary is open.

Hi! Ive been back here about 2 weeks with 100+ lbs to lose. Friend request sent!
-
My best advice is to increase your support network by sending friend requests. I find that getting to share with the same group is great and we are able to support each other.
