If he hadn't had a two year gap between clusters of attacks in the past, I would agree. But since there was an equally long gap between the 2011 attacks and 2013 ones ... I always do maintain situational awareness.

I'm in NYC! And in a no dog building, with a no dog spouse....

Your bones won't shift, but that doesn't mean that losing weight won't make you significantly smaller.
-
Thank you. This is encouraging.

I doubt I could be faster with pepper spray than this guy is with a taser, coming out of the woods. Groups and buddies it is. I am glad my other local park is open and busy.
-
I know. Introvert thing, though. Perhaps I can find a human somewhere in this massive city...

I wish I could borrow a very large dog! (I don't know anyone with a large dog.)

Hadn't been caught. The rapist has not been seen in 2 years, but there was a 2 year gap between his attacks in the past, too, so that doesn't mean he's gone for good. I may join the group. I am such an introvert, though, the bliss of running was about being alone in the woods.

In this case, it is the possibility of attack that concerns me. I felt safe in that park before, and considered drivers on the road a bigger threat than a possible attacker. Learning that there has been a specific rapist targeting women running right where I was running made me reconsider doing it. I think the chance of me…

I run 30 minutes in the morning without eating before. Sometimes I'll have 1/4 cup of coffee. If I were running farther, I might have a small piece of fruit beforehand.

I'm remembering how when I was a teen, "bubble butt" was an insult, not a goal. How fashions change, even with bodies!

I prefer pilates-style roll ups to sit-ups.

21 days help, but it really takes much longer than that to firmly establish a new habit. Think more in the line of months, especially if you are replacing an old bad habit.
-
It won't help the first few mornings, but while doing C25K I discovered to my great pleasure that as I got more fit, I started waking up earlier and earlier. It helped that when I woke up early on non running days, I still went for a walk first thing. Doing cardio has really improved my sleep patterns.

I am enjoying Ripped in 30.

I am not a biologist but I enjoy science.

I've gotten almond butter at Costco that was quite tasty.

Wow! Thank you for the fantastic response!

^ Thanks, that's a great idea!

I thought BR was supposed to be easier than 30DS and RI30! What makes them more challenging?
-
If you live in a city where walking is your primary form of transportation, 20k steps is very reasonable.
-
I am doing it now in conjunction with 30 Day Shred. I'm on level 1, day 3. I like the workout a lot--it's challenging, and works on balance, too.
-
Thanks. For some reason when I use the search engine, no groups turn up.

I got very sore after kickboxing. Very. How long have you been doing it? I found that 1) I needed to stretch more after the class 2) I needed to give it time. I went three days a week, though the first two weeks or so I only could go twice because I was so sore. In a few weeks, the soreness was much less, and I probably…

Bump.

Patience and persistence. Have you been losing weight in general, or not at all?
-
Yes, I saw that your workouts include stretches at the end. But if you want flexibility, you probably need more than that, which is why I suggested yoga.
-
You can get sore from something without having gotten a good workout/burned significant calories from it. Just using/stretching a slightly different set of muscles in a way that you don't normally is enough to be a bit sore.
-
It is true that they are not necessary. I do find it psychologically useful to have special clothes for working out. I put them on in the morning first thing, and then I feel like my workout/jog is inevitable and already in progress. Some things--like running--are more comfortable in a fabric that wicks rather than cotton,…

I have gotten good yoga pants at Costco and my running shorts/sports bras at Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Kohls.
