It wouldn't be for me! $90+ per month membership.

That is exactly what I was going to suggest.

Taken, 30, PR rep.

Although it is a short workout, it is reasonably challenging. I'd say it must be very difficult for anyone who is just beginning to work out regularly. I don't quite understand why people seem to do it daily, rather than alternating with something else.

So you've done the same level about 15-18 times? I'd have a hard time getting through it again, too. That's a lot of repetition. But it sounds like you might need more rest. When I change up my exercise, the quality of my sleep suffers a bit due to low level soreness that interrupts my sleep. Taking a little ibuprofin…

If you ride a bike, perhaps you could take your bike with you and go for a ride on your breaks?

Have you recently increased your overall activity level by a significant amount?

How many days have you been doing it? I am doing 30DS, and Day 3 was harder in terms of strength to complete because my muscles were sore. I had to go down in my hand weights for some exercises in order keep good form, though my stamina for the cardio was somewhat improved. Although I don't think 30DS requires as many rest…

Yeah, I have actually been sitting here thinking of my sewing patterns and there is no way that the difference in volume between a 16 and an 18 is the same as between a 2 and a 4. The clothing is larger in three dimensions.

Oh, how interesting. I call myself lightly active, but according to your link I'd be well over highly active (when not injured).

Small changes over time makes it easier for me to make big changes in the long run. It doesn't all have to be at once. There is always a little part of me that cries that over the fact that one has to do all this work to get fit (or thin, or whatever your goal is) and that one can't then just sit back and stay that way.…

My husband bakes a lot. Cookies and fresh bread. I resist snacking on it by having him slice it/pack it up and put it in the freezer. It lasts longer that way, is out of sight, and takes some effort for me to prepare. This is self defense for me. For some reason, he and his family love frozen cookies, but I don't, so it's…

Did you check under cardio? Because that is where I find both pilates and yoga.

I've actually never really thought about this before, but thinking of geometry, volume, and 3D shapes . . . couldn't there be a bigger difference between a 16 and an 18 than between a 2 and a 4 (for example)? Also, don't dwell on this too much. Why? 1. As you said, you know different clothing lines are not consistent in…

Agreed. I did give a suggestion for helping relieve the pain, but it was not intended to replace going to the doctor. I feel so bad for women (well, all people, but for this topic especially women) before there were antibiotics.

Look under cardio.

I don't think that's the case. I understand that it burns more calories to run, because when you run you have periods when both feet leave the ground.

I get fixated on a certain kind of food and will eat a LOT of it for a brief period, then I get tired of it. I got fixated on hot dogs over the holiday weekend, and there were several days this week when I had four in a day. Probably not the best choice for my nutritional needs, alas. But it was so yummy.

Strange tastes.

Walking at a leisurely pace is good in that it gets you up and moving (rather than sedentary). For cardio fitness, you would have to walk at a brisk pace that raises your heart rate and keeps it elevated, or so I understand. Power walking can be just about as brisk as slow jogging.
-
If I take that test, it tells me simultaneously to avoid aerobic exercise and to engage in it, to lift heavy and slowly, but at a moderate pace with moderate-to-heavy weights, and to eat more than I'm used to, but watch out for slow-creeping fat gains. Hm. Reads like a horoscope.

LOL, I don't think those songs are about my particular booty shape, though, even if I am a pear. Mostly, me being a pear means that I have no chest.
-
Caffeine addiction, perhaps? ;-) Mountain Dew has a lot, doesn't it?
-
Ha! I didn't anticipate that this thread would be about somatotypes. I was going to come here and say that I'm a pear with narrow shoulders, so I'm trying to build some arm/shoulder/back muscle to balance me out visually.

How old are your kids? The other day I saw a mom jogging with her 8 or 9 year old son in the park. It was adorable. I also see lots of moms in my neighborhood with jogging strollers.

In many circles it's considered really impolite to comment on another person's weight, no matter what direction you are going. Weight loss could be involuntary due to depression or illness, for example, so if you haven't been mentioning your fitness and diet goals to others, they may feel like it is uncouth to comment.

I lost quite a bit when I started college. It was a combination of walking to class (long distances and many hills) and eating set servings in the dining hall (I went to the a la carte dining halls rather than all-you-can-eat style). It really increased my activity levels.

If you have a UTI, you should go to the doctor and get an antibiotic. Make sure to finish the full course of the medication. A home remedy for the pain/urgency (that tastes foul but relieves symptoms somewhat) is a mixture of a little bit (just a little) of baking soda with three tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a…

Wellbutrin's side effect in terms of food is typically to suppress apatite.

This is wrong. Some (like me) people need to take antidepressants long term, possibly forever. If a person has had more than one period of acute depression, their doctor may consider having them on a maintenance dose for good to help prevent relapse.
