  • One thing that I've found is really important is to know that you aren't perfect, but that you need to keep going and be dedicated. Sometimes you'll slip up and eat too many calories, you'll go out for dinner, you'll go out for drinks with your friends, etc. Don't let this hold you back from enjoying your life, but eat in…
  • I still eat bread, but I do try to be mindful (as with any foods) of how much I am eating. I like the FiberOne Wraps, and they are only 80 calories. They are smaller than regular wraps, but I find them good for lunch with various fillings. I actually also use them instead of tortillas for tacos and it works great.
  • I have a regular Fitbit Charge (not HR), and I like it a lot.
  • I don't. I buy clothes that make me happy now, which gives me more confidence and reminds me to keep working at it long term. This is probably just something I experience personally, but if I'm uncomfortable in my clothes I usually think about it all day and get cranky. I think it has partially to do with my anxiety.…
  • This is exactly what I do. And my boyfriend refuses to use real butter on anything except maybe some cooking.
  • I wouldn't say anything. I know you probably just wanted to be helpful, but no need to insert yourself into a conversation. Many people don't take that very well.
  • Hello! That's great that you lost 85lbs and kept most of it. It sounds like you'll be on your way to your goal in no time. I'm 5'8 and looking to lose about 40 more pounds (give or take, we'll see). I could definitely use some more motivational friends as well, feel free to add me!
  • If I don't want to eat too many calories, I'll have veggies for a snack -- Cucumbers, bell peppers, etc. Fruit is a great snack too, and you can freeze grapes or other fruits for a cold snack. I've also been making/eating a lot of apple and zucchini chips.
  • I love having healthy snacks to eat, but I try to stay low calorie since I work at a desk job. My favorites are: Cucumber slices Bell peppers Apple chips Zucchini chips Watermelon If I don't have a healthy snack, I try to just drink lots of water to make it to my next meal. However, I see you said that hasn't been working…
  • Maybe you could open your diary so we can get a sense of what you're eating now? For instance, if you're eating salads, add some avocado, chicken, etc. If you're eating oatmeal for breakfast, add fruits, nuts, nut nutter, and honey. It sounds like you just need to bulk up your meals! If you're eating a lot of lettuce, you…
  • Depends on your weight, height, speed of walking, incline, etc.
  • Right now I'm obsessed with apple chips and zucchini chips. I was making them in my oven but that takes forever for the apples so I got a food dehydrator. You slice them with a mandolin and sprinkle them with cinnamon and they are sweet, crunchy, delicious, and super cheap.
  • Hmm.. I'm no expert but it sounds like you're drinking enough water. Is there a specific food you're eating that you don't normally eat that could be causing it? Do you have any medical conditions that may be a cause?
  • Depends -- how much water are you drinking? How much exercise are you doing? What are your stats? Etc.
  • I'm a chunky monkey person but I'd take cherry garcia right about now
  • As long as you weigh/log your food and don't go over your calorie goal for the day you'll be fine! And even if you did go over your calorie goal (which I'm sure you didn't with 30 cherries), just get back on track and don't let slip ups ruin your goal!
  • Definitely try weighing your food for a couple of weeks and you should see a difference. Using the generic entries can be very far off because perceptions vary. You could say you ate a "medium banana" but that could be someone else's "large banana" and the calories could vary a lot depending on the item.
  • I have mine set to 1200 calories a day and normally eat around there. If I'm being honest, probably about half of the time I end up eating closer to 1300-1400 calories because it's more realistic for me. Heck, probably once a week I have a treat and eat closer to 1600 calories. I've been losing about 1-1.5lbs a week. I'm…
  • I use Almond Breeze unsweetened almond milk (well, my grocery stores' off brand, Almond Break). As others have said, unsweetened almond milk is about 30 calories a cup. I use it for cooking, cereal, etc. I don't, however, drink milk at all. I know some people don't like the taste of it, but I don't find it to be very…
  • You need to do what works for you. Everyone is going to be different. If you aren't going to count calories, it's still important to have an idea of how much you should be eating per meal -- basically a far less intense type of calorie counting in your head. Personally, I know I probably won't calorie count for the rest of…
  • I have to agree with @kshama2001. In your diary, I see number of berries instead of grams. I see slices of items instead of measurements. It is very easy to make mistakes when guessing how much food you're eating. Also, the quick calories, unless it's a packaged item, is likely off too. You could be eating far more…
  • Snack sized oreos only. I have a problem. Same with potato chips. It's a serious danger for me! Anyways, kudos for portioning them all out! Maybe I can do that and get my boyfriend to hide them. I'd get plenty of exercise searching for them.
  • Don't give in! As others said, drink water, eat celery/cucumbers/other low calorie veggies. If you're craving something sweet, eat a small amount of fruit instead. One thing that really helps me is MotiveWeight and Before and After Weight Loss Tumblr pages. They are super inspiring and make me want to stick to healthy…
  • Special K Fruit and Yogurt is amazing. Soooo good. Usually a bowl of cereal is not filling enough for me for breakfast, so I'd pair it with something. Sometimes I'll eat a small amount dry (weighed and logged, of course), as a sweet night time snack.
  • I eat oatmeal made with almond milk (half cup each), which gives me a base of 165 calories (150 for the oats, 15 for the almond milk). From there, I add fruit (fresh or frozen), maybe some honey, nuts, etc. Sometimes I just do cinnamon and a teaspoon of maple syrup if I have no fruit on hand. There are so many things you…
  • I gotta say, I'm pretty much the same with potato chips. Except that after a couple, they aren't even that good, but I still eat a totally ridiculous amount. The only time I have potato chips now are in those little single serving bags, and I very rarely eat them. My boyfriend knows this and will only buy chips that I…
  • I don't like to do cheat days because I tend to feel bad about it. I do, however, eat more calories on certain days. Usually, though, if I'm going to eat a treat or an especially large meal, I'll try to scale down my other meals or get some extra work outs in to offset. Something that helps me is to really think about how…
  • I literally was just thinking the exact same thing. I started reading and I would think of something hilarious to add only to see that someone else said it a couple pages later. Love this whole thread so much. I am having a particularly bad day so I really needed this laugh!
  • I have a Fitbit Charge and I have never had a problem with the clasp. It took a couple days to get used to putting it on, but after that I have had no issues. It has never come loose or gotten ripped off by anything. I've been using it every day for several months now.
