  • I've been on here for just under 3 years and using MyFitnessPal lost 40kg / 88 lbs / 6 stone during the first 8 months or so. Since then I've been working on maintaining that and gaining strength, and hopefully a little muscle. I'm 45, work full time, I'm gay and have a fantastic husband whose also been on the journey with…

  • TRX is very versatile - it's one of my favourite bits of kit in the gym.
  • 'Fraid I'm gonna be all metric on you all  Age: 45 Height: 178cm Starting Weight: 114kg (about 250 lbs) Weight Loss Finishing Weight: 79.4kg (175 lbs) Currently: About 83kg and 15.5% fat Target weight: Somewhere between 85kg and 90kg, and < 14% fat. I spent my first 6 or 7 months or so on MFP losing a bucket load…
  • I do a 4x2 workout Monday - Thursday, so chest & shoulders Monday AM, legs Monday lunch, arms Tuesday morning, back Tuesday lunch, then repeat Wednesday and Thursday but different exercises. Friday is a de-load day, so only 2/3 of my normal weights till failure across the board. Saturday is a total rest day, then Sunday is…
  • Difficult to beat 70s disco/hustle/funk etc. If you want my playlist and have Spotify, look for kitschcamp and EFM 750 Workout.
  • Hi, I've been on MFP for two years, but not much in the discussion areas the last few months. Now I'm back. With a plan! Feel free to add me as well, but put a note in your request so I know it's not just some random weirdo ;)
  • That's what I've been doing for the past 15-16 months. It's not easy. There are a lot of frustrations and finding the sweet spot is flipping complicated. In 2016 I spent most of the time from March to October spinning my wheels, gaining zero lean body mass (confirmed by DEXA), and only gaining fat. It was quite…

  • Because it feels absolutely awesome, basically. And some people like the look of it as well.

  • "Show your...". That's one way to get thrown off the forums ;)
  • I've had flu jabs that hurt more than the piercing. The skin at the point they go through is actually very thin (the skin around it is quite thick). Providing they get it at the right spot, just to one side of the frenum, it's not as bad as you think it'd be. It also heals pretty quick, light "contact" within 2 weeks is…
  • Always fancied that one, I think it looks great - how does it work for you?
  • I sure do. Why not? They're great. Best eighty quid I ever spent ;) Definitely one to get references for before you choose a piercer, and definitely worth investing in titanium jewellery as stainless is bloody heavy!
  • Indeed, really happy for you. Just getting rid of that sort of pressure is a huge relief to anyone, and with stress gone or reduced everything else just gets so much easier.
  • It's the last day of Winter here in Australia. Hurrah! Hopefully the weather will now start turning for the better, and I've got just over three weeks until the City to Bay run. And I hate running.
  • Congratulations on your progress. Its brilliant to hear other people having great success as well. I've lost about 40kg of fat, and put on some muscle, and gone from a 46" waist to a 32" waist in the last 15 or so months. It's a great feeling, and you've got every reason to be pleased and proud. I'm sure you'll get to your…
  • Funny thing is only last week I was talking to my gym instructor about pretty much this. That conversation started because I was talking about watching some old Buffy episodes, and how David Boreanaz was seen as super fit back then, and how the definition of a "hot bod" has changed so much in my lifetime. Remember the Burt…
  • That's something I'm still incredibly self conscious about. I know it's in my head, and I know if I look properly in the mirror, I'm no longer fat, if I glance down I still think of myself as fat and see the shape there as fat rather than actual muscle. Not sure if I'll ever get my head straight on that one.
  • I've been using MFP for just over a year. Between June and January I lost 35kg and over 40kg of fat using MFP and exercise tracking (Map My Fitness and later Garmin Connect). It does help to keep you honest. I'm now using it to plan out my meals for the day in advance, then tweaking the amount I'm eating, or what I'm…
  • Slowly having to rebuild the wardrobe. In a year down from shopping in the XL and XXL section to now Medium top and bottom. Flipping expensive this losing weight ;)
  • Just sent you a request - another fellow human here. Glad to know there are a few of us around ;)
