  • I am. I have been on a medically monitored weight loss plan since 2015. I lost 80lbs. I've had some issues since the spring, and my weight is back up. To help me get some control over late in the day overeating, and some quick success, my Dr. put me on Saxenda. I'm in wk 3, my dose just went up. I've lost 15lbs in 3 weeks.…
  • Hey, that's my blog - cool! So yeah... Here's what my doc did with me. I had about 75lbs to lose. The first two weeks - your kind of in survival / crash / mode. Don't worry about excercise. Just stick to the plan. You may experience some constipation (use Miralax), and otherwise, you'll be dealing with cravings, withdrawal…
  • Looking good Lisa! Way to go!! It is so amazing how quickly you can change when it took years to put on! Stay the course!
  • Julie: I was doing well and staying in ketosis until probably this weekend. I had a slice of bread for the first time, and I can feel the carb cravings now - its crazy! We're moving house and I missed my meeting this Friday and ran out of shakes yesterday. I'm counting calories - but I need my shakes! I don't trust myself!…
  • Checking in: I started 6/4/15 and I am down 66.5lbs. I'm down from a size 20/22 to 12/14. Feeling good. My Dr. moved me from VLCD to LCD when I hit 198 and I'm still losing just slower. Working on adjusting to this slimmer me. I can fit into everything in my closet but I need to get strong now. I feel flabby with all this…
  • I tried the cheddar broccoli in my first week and it was ghastly. Maybe if I was further along in the program I would have been able to stomach it - but the fake cheese flavor did me in. CORRECTION: I use iced coffee with my morning chocolate shake - hot coffee doesn't work so well! LOL
  • Kate: I had trouble going down to 3 replacements a day -- so I would do a couple days at 3, then have a 4 day, and then get back on 3. I was misunderstanding thirst for hunger - so keep drinking, and I was allowed to eat calorie free dill pickles and a diet soda, which would substitute as a snack when I was dying around…
  • Julie: The Foundation Training gal is a friend of the PA at my New Direction Diet clinic. She is the only trainer they recommend, but you don't HAVE to do it. Foundation Training is good for back issues and very friendly for folks with knee/ hip issues. I personally have L4/L5 disc issues so I was excited about the…
  • So, I reached my initial weight goal and the PA moved me from VLCD to LCD. Eating 1 meal and 1 snack a day. It is hard! I'm really struggling with making decisions about what to eat. My Dr. said I should do LCD for about 6 weeks and get my metabolism back up and then maybe do another round of shakes.... has anyone done…
  • Here's what kept me sane for the past 12 weeks: Chocolate shake w/ fiber made with black coffee for breakfast. I use a wisk and pour over ice. I don't like the froth that comes from the blender. Lunch - Vanilla Pudding or Vanilla Shake - add Sugar Free Salted Caramel flavoring. Chili - Add jalepenos or hot sauce. 2nd…
  • I am in week 10 of the VLCD. My doctor asked me to add consistence strength training to my schedule so that I wouldn't lose muscle mass. I have been doing walk/jog cardio 3 days a week for 30 mins each on the treadmill. For strength, I do something called Foundation Training with a trainer through our New Direction clinic.…
  • My Dr. wasn't going to give me a goal weight until I asked for one. My current goal weight may be a bit soft - it is within 20 of the skinniest I've been as an adult. For me to get into the 170's, I was training for a half marathon and running 5-8 miles a day. I need something that is maintainable - so, she's got me at…
  • 10 Weeks in and flirting with 50lbs down. I've gotten exercise worked into the schedule and am on 3 meal replacements a day. I'm within 10lbs of my initial goal which is 198. Happily into my 16s and getting into some 14s and regular XL. It feels good. Starting to fear having to cook again though!!
  • Hang in there Kate, it gets easier!!
  • Week 8-9. I'm over 40lbs down on the VLCD and needing to add more strength training as Dr. is concerned that I'll start burning muscle. My total cholesterol is 100. My Triglycerides went from borderline to 62. Blood pressure is 120/70. Pretty amazing. Worried about maintenance as I've only a month left on full replacement.…
  • I'm in the midst of ND Diet! Just started my second month and down 30 lbs. I needed a jump start! I have previously lost 100 lbs and gained about 60 back with the last pregnancy. I've got 30 lbs to go and am on full meal replacements still. I'd love some company on the journey! ~Mara
  • I'm 20 days in and have been a purist so far, but I just started adding a shot of hot sauce to the veggie chilli and it has made me so happy. Was totally getting bored with the food. I haven't been flavoring water or anything. My only vice is making my morning chocolate shake with black coffee - if I didn't do that, I…
