Agreed! You can always up the weight if you have heavier weights available when you feel the weights you have are too easy. I've done Jillian's No More Trouble Zones video with my 8 lb weights and it can be tough w all the compound movements, though generally more effective for upper body than lower body.

You can definitely build a butt from scratch with glute isolation moves and progressive overload.

That'll be me one day, I'm sure of it. I already have 3!

Ouch me either. I have a few small ones. Nothing bigger yet, but I'm planning one. They're so addicting!

Oatmeal is actually pretty low calorie. It's what you put in it that adds in the calories. Make the oatmeal with full fat milk if you don't and put the peanut butter in that or maybe nutella. Granola can tend to be pretty high calorie for a small portion. Put mayo on your sandwiches and drizzle olive oil on things. Eat…

The barbell shouldn't be right on your hip bones. It should be right under like where your hip flexors are. I try to squeeze my glutes before I start raising my hips so they're already engaged before any movement happens then drive up through your heels. That might minimize you trying to move the weight with your back.

It wasn't the amount of carbs that led to no weight loss.

I have trouble sometimes eating to my maintenance calories, but I don't eat a lot of calorie dense foods. You're at a healthy weight for your height but if you're worried about eating too few calories try to add in more calorie dense foods like peanut butter, nuts, avocado, full fat dairy products, etc. Drizzle some olive…

It's not the sugar. You're eating more than you're burning. Are you weighing your food on a digital food scale?

Do you have a food scale? Are you weighing all of your food?

I've always had that problem too. I've managed to be in 3 ldr's because I so rarely find someone I like locally. It's also just kind of hard to date in NYC. *shrug* Just keep doing it till you find someone that makes you forget about the Taken One. I guess that was fairly obvious though.
-
It's not the carbs that are making you gain weight. It's the going over your maintenance calories that's doing that.

This thread is almost a year old?

I think my heart just skipped a beat. I would sub out the apple for blueberry pie though.

My SO better say yes to the first question or I'm changing. :#

Also, I'm not super familiar with all the supplements but do any of them have calorie counts that you may be neglecting to log? Don't know if it was answered yet, but do you have a digital food scale and are you weighing all of your food? I see a 4oz Tilapia filet everyday but my tilapia filets are usually all different…

Whoa that's a lot of supplements that I've really only seen fitness models, body builders, and people that do competitions take. Does your trainer have you on all of those or is it for the IBS? Aside from the probiotics, multivitamin and vitamin C the rest seem highly unnecessary and could be very likely causing your…

If you're trying to lose weight calories are more important than macros. However, in order to maintain lean muscle while losing you should try to eat at least .6-.8g of protein per lb of body weight and maybe more if you're lifting. Macros become more important if you're doing low carb, high fat or if you're lifting and…

This doesn't make sense though. If you drop your calories to 1400 then you're eating in a deficit again so of course you will lose the water weight/waste/glycogen stores/actual weight again. Then you'll try to eat to maintenance once you're back down and gain that water weight/waste/glycogen stores back and you'll be back…

If it's the Jillian Michaels video I'm thinking of then it was more of a Romanian deadlift even though she says stiff leg deadlift in the vid and since you use super light weights (like 3-5 lbs) it was really more about squeezing your butt super hard to lift back up.

This road race thing sounds really cool. You have to tell us how the race goes! I saw them do something similar on Top Gear and it looked really tough. I'm just hoping to learn how to drive before the end of the year. Haven't signed up for lessons yet though. :(

I'm an introvert as well. I'm not one for non-fiction books generally but I read Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking by Susan Cain. If I remember correctly they do talk about how introverts become successful leaders and managers in a business world that's dominated by extroverts and how they…

Might need more cake.

It doesn't have to be overwhelming. I think if you find what you're doing to be overwhelming the chances are lower that you'll stick to it. At the end of the day weight loss is about calories in vs calories out. Eat more than you burn and you'll lose weight. Get a digital food scale and weigh and log all of your food. Make…

Undereating did not cause you to gain weight. You were either eating more than you think you were or you ended up binging due to feeling restricted.

Well there goes the rest of my afternoon.

ermagah yummmm! I loooove pie! I don't want to derail the thread with pies, but here's a coconut cream pie I made. =D

I use Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey usually right after I workout and/or in the morning I put the chocolate one in my coffee if I'm feeling lazy. It's 110 cal and has 24g protein a serving. I can't speak to whether it keeps me fuller longer. I never noticed. I just take it to aid muscle recovery and to supplement my…
