My gym has just one shower for men and one for women, in a private bathroom. I don't like to shave there just in case someone is waiting for the shower.

Our ladies room is just big enough that I can walk across it in 10 steps, I walk back and forth for 2-3 minutes every time I use the restroom, as long as no one else is using it. I also like to do squats during restroom breaks.

I aim to get 7.5-8hrs/night most nights of the week. If I trend less than that for more than a few days I feel tired and have a tougher time completing my workouts. I also tend to get sick if I can't get better than 5hrs/night for more than 3 nights in a row (although this is much less of a problem now that I sleep better…

I could just eat watermelon all day. I might have to pee 100 times that day, but it would be worth it, lol.

As long as the oil you're using fits into your calories for the day use it. We all need some fat in our diet and olive oil is a good one.

Good Thins are awesome! They Have several different flavors.

I recently got the Charge HR. I tested the reading by comparing to the HRM on the treadmill, I'm sure that's not the most accurate but should be close, and it was within 2-5 bpm. For me, that's good enough.

You are amazing and inspirational! Congratulations on such a huge milestone and good luck on your continued success.

I'm not sure where you're reading "don't eat back your exercise calories". MFP is set up so that you do eat all or at least a portion of your exercise calories back. Your calorie goal is net, including any exercise. Some people will start by eating back just 25-50% because many of the estimated calorie burns given by the…

they're small, why not take them?

Thank you for starting this post. It's important that we get this reminder once in a while. Especially in light of recent events.

This is an unsweetened vanilla, plant based protein powder that I have had very good luck with in the past. I don't know what anyone's health situation is so talking to a doc is a good plan, especially when on meds. I was using this while taking meds for BP and depression and had no adverse side effects.

Welcome and congratulations on making the decision to get your life back. This will be a long and sometimes difficult process and you may deal with a lot of emotions along the way but that is what we are all here for. I have found MFP to be an awesome community of people looking to help one another to get healthy. Please…

Hi Roe, Great job so far. As others have mentioned, you are probably not in an actual plateau but just seeing a slowing of your weight loss. If you're not already doing it, make sure you are weighing all solid foods on a food scale, using grams is best, and measuring all liquids with measuring spoons and cups. It will help…

I agree with @Linzon, you may want to eat at maintenance while healing so that your body has the fuel it needs to do the work. At the very least, set your weight loss goal more modestly and make sure you are eating your macros and lots of nutrient dense foods. Treating your body right while healing will help you get back…

Technically Miralax is polyethylene glycol, not fiber. It actual draws water into your intestines to soften stool. It is an osmotic laxative. Prolonged use of a stool softener of this kind can lead to electrolyte imbalances. If you're looking for fiber then Metamucil would be a better option.…

Hi, I log every day. The good, the bad and the ugly. Add me!

Hi, Nope, don't add the steps through MFP when you have your Fitbit synced. The Fitbit adjustment is all you need. If you do other activity while not wearing the Fitbit you should log that. I have been using a Fitbit since last July and have stopped logging my activity through MFP and it's working great.

I would agree with making sure you are getting enough fat and soluble fiber along with lots of water. I also find that when I drink a large glass of hot water with lemon on an empty stomach it helps to stimulate a bowel movement. Magnesium is also something that is worth a try if the dietary changes don't help. Because…

I second the strength training for loss of inches. Also, enjoy lots of veggies, they'll give you good nutrition with fewer calories. Remember that this is not sustainable and you may not lose as much as you want, 4 weeks is not a lot of time to lose 7-10 lbs. Don't forget to log everything to make sure you are getting…

While I am still losing I am preparing for the fact that I will likely need to continue to weigh and measure my food, at least most days, when I am in maintenance. I know that for me I need to make this a lifelong commitment. I've heard several people suggest the trendweight.com website, you should check it out.

It sure does. I am much more interested in the overall trend, which is down. I don't worry about the ups as long as I refocus and bring it back down. We're all going to fluctuate depending on workouts, salty meals, vacations, TOM, lots of things.

I have come to realize that I am making a change that I must be able to sustain for good. That means that sometimes I am going to eat things that aren't all that healthy. I just have to remember that the overall majority of my choices are healthy and one meal or one day isn't going to undo all of the good I've been doing.…

Congratulations on your engagement! I got married last year at 39 years old in a size 18 wedding dress. I look at the pictures now and yes, there are a few physical 'flaws' that I see in myself, but I focus on how happy we were on that day. And how happy we are every day since. You have a wonderful man who loves you just…
