Great idea!

Those are great options and especially when you don't have set breaks or lunch breaks to work around. It's so important to be able to access healthy food that you can eat at your desk so you don't starve all day and then eat WAY too much at night.

Hello, I just noticed you live in South Africa. One place I have always wanted to visit. I have a friend who recently moved to South Africa because her Mum moved out there and she loved it when use to visit with her. I think she's near Cape Town. It looks beautiful.

It's a loss - so it's all good. Hang in there, stay strong and a steady loss of 1 -2 pounds per week is excellent. Congrats! ;)
-
Haha I bet you're glad you got on those scales! Congrats on a loss this week. Well done. Don't worry about the inches, they are sure to follow. ;)
-
Wow! What an amazing feeling that must have been. Kudos to you - well done!

No humidity here for us yet. In fact, it's been unseasonably cool with the odd day of summer and nice temps. I have been resisting putting the central heating on though on the cooler days. It just seems wrong when we are in the middle of June! Ginette, I don't know how you managed an hour long walk in really humid weather.…

Sorry Ginette, had to smile when I read your post. ;) Never mind, a new day today and a fresh start. I was naughty yesterday and had a lapse - caramel popcorn and a belgium chocolate cookie (why?) but I did manage a bit of walking. Tomorrow is when I WI and I find out how much damage I've done. Sigh...

Thanks for sharing, I will be checking out your links. As they say, knowledge is power! :)

I saw a baby hedgehog the other day and it was crossing the road. My neighbour and I were trying to coax it off the road and we were looking for the mother. It was so cute but gave us quite a scare a couple of times as it kept going into the road. Eventually the mother arrived and all was well.

This is an awesome thread. Thanks for sharing your photos - I also think Cher is an inspiration. She looks fantastic. I need to remember this the next time I feel the urge to reach into that pantry cupboard or fridge ;)

You're welcome Erin. Go kick butt in the gym! ;)

I wonder if they will have these on offer at Asda in the UK. Asda is Walmart here, so I'll have to check out these breakfast cookies the next time I am there. Sometimes you do crave something sweet and it would be really nice to have something low calorie and filling on hand.

I love the containers! Great idea. I agree, planning, prepping and organization are key to staying on track and being successful on our weight loss journeys. More so when we are juggling busy jobs, families and other commitments. Let us know how you get on with your first week with lunch preps.
-
No, I'll do that for us now.
-
I love the Laughing Cow cheeses too, but I haven't tried that flavour yet. I must keep a look out for it but they may not offer that in the UK. As a rule, I try to keep my snacks around 100 -150 calories, but if it works within your daily calorie allotment - I wouldn't worry.
-
Good for you - you confessed and that's not easy. We've all been there and done that. Now you are aware of what you are doing - it's time to reflect on why? Are you stressed, anxious, worried, angry, etc.? Next, place a couple of healthy snacks around so that when this happens again you have something healthy to snack on…

Mmmm sounds good we have salmon planned for Thursday :-)[/quote] I've got salmon on the menu for tonight too! o:)

If you think of your pasta dish as a side dish you can still enjoy it and then load up on veggie or salad on the side. I've done this because every now and then I do crave some pasta, but it's so high in calories. It's also one of my daughter's favourite foods too.

Awww what a sweetie pie. Bless him for doing that. It makes such a difference when your spouse or partner supports your endeavours and helps rather than hinders your progress, He rocks!

Hi last night I had a huge salad bowl and added a slice of roast beef, 1 oz of cheddar cheese and a hard boiled egg for my protein. Tonight I made Red Thai Salmon fillets with broccoli, brussel sprouts and 2 sweet potato wedges that were grilled.

This recipe sounds delicious. I will certainly be giving it a try. I'll have to wait until my next grocery shop though thanks for sharing.

Hi Josie, welcome to our group - there are a few of us who are newbies here. Like you, I also have 70 pounds to lose. But first may I say a HUGE congratulations on losing 50 pounds which is still a significant amount of weight. I agree, that organization, planning and preparation is key in helping us stay on course with…

Yeah, me too.

Hmmm that's a good question. I'll have to give that some thought and get back on that. My problem is I just LOVE food! Haha ;)
-
I LOVE quotes that inspire and motivate - that was a good one. :)

Hi and thanks for the invite. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone a bit better as we find our way through our weight loss and wellness journeys. Onwards and downwards, Bev (my new Mantra ;) )

I guess it depends on what time you are working out Erin. I used to like the mornings and would time my workouts about an hour or so after my breakfast and then I'd have a post workout snack. I do agree you shouldn't workout without proper nutrition before hand though, and I'd also consider healthy proteins too, nuts,…

Sounds yummy! I'm afraid my dreams seem to have copious amounts of cream and chocolate in them. ;)

One bad food/exercise day is like a flat tire, you repair it and keep moving forward, you don't slash the other ones and stay stuck :) good luck! Haha - LOVE this quote - that's a keeper! :)
