Welcome to MFP! Congratulations to you and your growing family :) Please be careful while pregnant to speak with your doctor first before going further. Generally while pregnant you'll want to add about 300 calories more a day. That really doesn't translate into much more food so I'd suggest finding some healthy options…

I have scheduled a doctor's visit to draw my A1c and cholesterol again. I want my numbers lower than they were last time and that's my motivation.

I would suggest researching the types of cholesterol so you're more familiar with them. HDL (Happy cholesterol vs LDL (bad cholesterol) and Triglycerides to start. Eating foods that increase your HDL is recommended: avocados, fatty fish like salmon, extra virgin olive oil and almonds.

Distraction is my key, and changing up the nigh-time routine where I would mindlessly eat in front of the TV. That was my "bored" time. Now I do a lot on MFP, sip my herbal teas, and honestly go to bed earlier.
