You can rearrange your view so that carbs and fiber are right next to each other, which makes it easier to manage. That’s how I do it.

How long of a stall are we talking about? I routinely go two weeks without losing any weight, and sometimes up to three. Then I have a few days where I lose all the weight I was “supposed” to lose during that time (and sometimes a little extra), so I can’t really call that a stall. It’s just the way some people’s bodies…

Eat enough during the day. ;)

You’re (all!) welcome to add me as well! I’m on keto for psychological rather than physical reasons, so I take breaks now and then. I just don’t log those days and pick back up again when I’m ready to come back into ketosis. :)

K, so I started keto on the first of the year, and in late March I had a nasty light-headed-bradycardic-couldn’t-see moment. I’d had a few similar but much milder episodes years ago while nursing my son, but since that huge one I’ve been having them several times a day. So I went to the doctor and of course I told her…

I got some containers at the hardware store and moved most of them down to the basement. The weight started coming off so fast after not budging for so long that I was nervous about giving them all away right away! I’m about to start loading up my next container. :*

I love Under Armor tops, but their leggings just don’t seem to fit me right. My old Athleta ones have held up for YEARS, although I’ve heard their new super-soft yoga fabrics pill like crazy. Lululemon fits and moves beautifully, but I’ve had issues with some of their designs (no side pockets, no internal drawstring, using…

The first 10k steps are accounted for in your activity level; after that Fitbit starts adding on extra. I have days where I can eat 2k calories and be in a deficit, and those are just days when I’m especially busy, not days when I purposely set out to break a record on the elliptical or whatever. Mine is a smaller deficit…

I’m in ketosis right now, too, and am down 26 pounds, and I didn’t have to pay a dime into a pyramid scheme in order to accomplish those things.

Years ago, when I weighed around 160, a nutritionist colleague of mine told me very sincerely that she didn’t think anything less than 135 would “look right” on my frame. I weigh 129 now, with plenty of muscle mass on me, and I could still lose about 10-15 more and be fine. People get used to the way you are, and…

Yes. I used to crave junk food like crazy during that time, but this year I’ve been doing keto and haven’t had cravings at all. So imagine my surprise when month after month I’d get ravenously hungry during that same week. I had to eat more than my calorie goal, but it didn’t seem to affect my weight loss when I did. After…

My thought, too. Anxiety is coming off the first post in waves, and it can have very real physical effects on the body. Of course, a mystery ailment acquired overseas is a bit of a wild card, as well, so either way, OP, this is something I think you’re best off working on with your doctor.

Ugh—there was supposed to be a smiley face. It comes off really hostile without the smiley face, and that was not the intent!

My bad. :) Yeah, candy isn’t realistically going to happen that often. You actually COULD eat a fuzzy peach candy or two with no problems, but it’d be taking up carb space from things with actual nutrients and I don’t see it being a regular thing. I disagree, though, that keto is for people who don’t like them. If you…

Um...the steak. Eating on the go is a pain in the neck, but restaurants are easy.

Oh for crying out loud—a peach has what, 10 net carbs? 12? You could eat a fuzzy peach every day and stay in ketosis if you wanted. A peach, as many leafy greens as you can handle, maybe an avocado, some meat/fish/eggs/nuts, then do it again. I made an entire meal out of fruit today and am so endlessly annoyed by this sort…

Two cups of arugula is enough to cut the fat "feel" of the things I usually eat with it. I could easily fit six cups into a day, though, which would probably make me feel sick but would definitely count as "a lot." :) I choose to eat a portion of raspberries (and strawberries, and blueberries, and watermelon, and…

I didn’t say it might be scary; I said there was no advantage. I’m quite content at 10% with no nutritional concerns. Somewhere above 10% is the ceiling I break through to go back to my “normal,” but I’m not motivated to nail down exactly how far above, because this is working. I couldn’t fit a whole slice of cake into 15…

I’m comparing keto to the diet I actually ate. What matters is what we do in the real world, right? Look: I love veggies. I would have told you a year ago that I ate tons of them and they’re delicious and yay vegetables. What that meant in practice, though, was that I tended to eat a lot of them at once, then have other…

I’ve gone 25 years bingeing on a daily basis, or close. More recently, I’ve gone 5.5 months without a single unplanned “treat.” I have no guilt or shame related to eating anymore, and I’ve lost 25 pounds. You can nitpick my logic all you want, but results talk. I take a weekend off once a month or so around holidays and…

What do you think WOULD work?
-
Interesting question. I don’t know exactly where the line is, but there’s no margin for me in finding out. I’m getting a satisfying variety of foods with a wide array of nutrients in them now and am content with that; why would I risk a relapse just for the sake of finding out where it happens? I know that when I have my…

Same! I just told someone the other day that I feel like it changed my brain. My husband went on it with me at the same time and hasn’t gotten nearly as much out of it...but he’s always had a healthy relationship with food to begin with. He doesn’t “need” keto, so it’s not as appealing to him. So I think it really depends…

Of course they’re different, but in my own eating experience they’re linked. I’ve never had success limiting myself to unlimited carbs such as lentils, beans, and potatoes—and yes, I’ve tried. When I eat an apple for a snack I WILL eventually eat candy later that same night, not because carbs are all created equal but…
-
Same. You can take quite a lot of the carbohydrates out of the typical American diet and still have plenty of room left over for fruits and veggies. It’s true that I don’t sit around munching on a whole apple as a snack on keto, but let’s face it: that wasn’t something I’d actually do before keto, either. Now, instead of…

This worked pretty well for me for about a month until life happened and I kinda forgot I was doing it and I just went back to eating like normal. Over the years, though, I’ve found that weekly “cheats” are just too frequent for me. I feel all bloated and gross and am retaining water for a few days after each one, and by…

At the end of the day MFP thought you had more than a 3000-calorie deficit, because YOU told it to double-count most of your caloric burn. Of course it tells you you’re going to lose weight if you’re under eating by 3k calories....but you’re not.
-
Okay, again: he doesn’t need to see into your soul and agree with you that his way has always been wrong and he just never realized that until you found the perfect way to explain it. Just tell him that it bothers you and ask him to stop.
-
Okay, well, if you consistently burn more than 3000 calories per day you’ll lose weight doing that. If.
