Got some new kicks, mizuno wave rider 18's. I'll be rotating them in with my saucony ride 7's. Had my first run with them today and they felt awesome, it was fantastic. Win! (PS 4mile distance PR) Bought a nike hydration belt. Main reason was to hold my phone close to my body to keep it from getting too cold, which prolly…

WTG @shilshilshil , @Ch1psNQueso and @Orphia , that's a great accomplishment!

Man its been cold lately! -16c (3f) out today, but the sun was beautiful. I froze in the shade and basked in the sun haha. I am still chilled hours later. Felt hard today, but not as hard as the run on the treadmill on the second. I'm just starting to figure out a running plan, so things are changing fast with it. I think…

@MobyCarp I can understand your frustration :/ Even tho I don't have to rely as much on my tech, it's still extremely frustrating when it wont work as intended. As an aside, how you do you check your watch with all your winter gear on? Mine is buried so deep there is no hope of casually checking it, lol. @kristinegift…

@_nikkiwolf_ ok thanks, that makes me feel better! My resting HR has dropped the same as yours and it also started up around 70, yikes. And like you, I can not imagine running with a HR under 130, let alone 100! My HR is about 115 just casually moving around the house. I will check that link too, thanks.

Just saw your post, and not sure if anyone else responded yet! But it just synced with my last run from my fitbit charge HR. Ok, the run and gps, my distance and time synced but I'm not sure about my HR. (Oh, just checked, it did :) ) And I did that run before I even had the strava app. So once I signed up and opened it on…

OH wow, that's just so much awesome right there, i love it :) I'm grinning too! And I have three children, mostly grown, but I catch myself always buying groceries in quantities of three...

First ever back to back run and god what a difference! I felt pretty tired in the legs and I thought all my stationary bike work would help, but alas :) It wasn't too bad, altho it was on the treadmill as I expected, because of the storm. I have noticed my HR is remaining steady now. Which means to me that I've found my…

@skippygirlsmom yes!! You have found the solution. I will be right there and we will call it prevention :) lovely pics

I save my progress and my ticker url (the first option on the ticker site) in note pad. When I do an update I simply modify the note pad entry and then copy it to my MFP post. Once posted, I can click on my ticker to be taken directly to the ticker site so I can add my miles! Make sure you click next on ticker site to make…

Just realised I will get a few more miles in this month as march is a little bit longer so I readjusted my ticker! Today I'm sitting with ice on my shins. They're not hurting, just kind of achy. And the slow me just seemed to realise I don't have to wait till they're hurting to ice them. Perhaps if I do it now they wont…

Awesome march! Let the spring arrive and please let me outrun the black flies! Oh and don't let it get to hot. New for this month, increasing mileage, rawr. Also running 5 times a week, up from 3-4. I'm terribly excited about this. Still on the hunt for new shoes too. It looks like I'm running less, but for jan I was…

My mileage was a little short for this month, as my plan changed from following distance markers to time markers and I can't run as fast as they expect me too I suppose. It is rather frustrating too because I'm feeling that I'm not very consistent with distance as my pace is all over the place. So the plan for march is…

Oh wow, well my thoughts have been running towards seed ordering soon and I can't wait to start my tomatoes etc. Right now I'm craving zucchini. I love shredding it up and using it in crab cakes. I refuse to buy the sad expensive ones in the grocery store! I can't wait for the fresh tomatoes and cucumbers and I love love…

2/01 - x-train 2/02 - 4 miles that came nice and easy 2/03 - nada 2/04 - 3.4 2/05 - x-train 2/06 - 3.3 11'20 split 2/07 - total sloth day. I like sloths, I don't like sloth days. 2/08 - 4.4 was a great run 2/09 - x-train on the stationary bike. Now that is a torture device. Does it have its own nasty name? 2/10 - 4.3 snowy…

Ok awesome ty for this! It certainly gives me lots to digest. The HM distance isnt daunting to me yet and might be a distance I would plan for a weekend run however I have no idea how running in the heat and humidity of summer will affect me. It used to just do me right in and I certainly wasn't running in it! I am…

Thanks for the insight into how you all time your intervals differently. I can't imagine having to check my watch but if it were to beep at me that might work. However, the low tech method of marks on the shoulder of the road would work great for me! I'll surreptitiously do chalk markings or something lol. However, I'm…
-
How do you guys figure out how many meters you're running if you're outside on the road? For your interval training that is.

That should be my last treadmill run for a while. We got 50cm of snow in one day, broke records and so forth. They've done a great job cleaning it up already and the roads are run-able, but today there is a nasty windchill so I'll just stay warm inside until Saturday which should be fantastic. @moyer566 Congrats on your…

It felt like -37c today (-34f) and bloody hell there was no way I was heading out. So me and the treadmill got to rolling. It was a good run, I do really well when I can keep cool and so it seems I can push a little harder when I'm on the treadmill. @dominichoran wow sounds...I can't even imagine :) @Qwik_Dry Welcome!…

@skippygirlsmom My daughter had a brief episode of mild seizures that were triggered by pain in her case. Fight? no way, she'll Flight every time. I hope it's nothing serious! Super cold outside today -23c (-10f) with the windchill. I was already cold when I got home from work, in fact I would have swore on my children's…

I've got to start working on lower body strength, I will be looking into some of those exercises posted. Best to head injury off by being proactive eh! 2/01 - x-train 2/02 - 4 miles that came nice and easy 2/03 - nada 2/04 - 3.4 2/05 - x-train 2/06 - 3.3 11'20 split 2/07 - total sloth day. Wow, I'm so sorry, that sucks so much!

The wind almost made me hit the treadmill this am, but I decided I would go outside anyway. The ambient temp was only about -4c (24f) but the windchill brought it down to -15c (9f) and it was directly in my face for half the run. Actually a couple hours after my run I can still feel my face and thighs burning a touch. So…

Haha, yay!! I'm so glad you got it :) @juliet3455 Great race report, thanks! And congrats on your PB? or first HM? Either way, awesome! The weather sounded fantastic. I have determined I like 5c to -10c the best...so far. But I honestly can't see myself enjoying running in 30c temps. As you said, there are only so many…

Suckered in once again by the ZOMBIE THREAD! @AnnaJarmila strikes again

@ddmom0811 thanks for the race recap, I love reading those :) and congrats on your PR!! awesome! @MobyCarp What gorgeous weather, I'm so jealous! We've got some nasty stuff coming...its about time i suppose @KnordRW Welcome to the group, Ray! You've got some nice goals and a solid plan, I'm excited for you! @runner_girl83…

Beautiful day here today, about -1c (30f) and snowing lightly. The roads were covered with snow and because of the mild temps, it was sticky and slippery. I had to stay out of the car tracks and try to run on the fresh snow (only a couple cm's) to make it a little more stable. My feet got soaked but I wear Lorpen wool…

@Elise4270 I too wear Saucony Rides, I have a very high arch and do a conscious mid strike. I have an extensor tendonitis issue that is very very slowly getting better and shins that remind me they're there, but not a full on splint. I sure hope you get it resolved!
