It seems like you've already done the hard bit which is getting the motivation to get yourself back up. Find/make a diet and exercise plan, stick to it, and you'll be absolutely fine.

Buying a good water bottle probably. I suck at drinking water as well but if you always have a water bottle with you you're going to drink more without thinking about it.

90% of my clothes are from eBay. You can get really nice clothes for a tenth of the original price. If you find some reliable brands and buy mainly those clothes you won't have to worry about something not fitting. Also, as you said, thrift stores and charity shops are a gem.
