  • Make your tuna salad with plain Greek yogurt instead of mayo. Mayo = really bad for you. Greek yogurt = really great for you. Granted, I'm not a hug mayo fan so the substitution is fine with me. Someone mentioned cottage cheese, though, and I love that idea!

  • I took my dachshund for a walk Saturday. He's had cabin fever so he decided to run his walk, and I let him. I had to keep a good jog going to keep up with him. His legs are about 2 inches long. Now, granted, he has 4 of them, but still... I'm just being funny, I'm not mocking. But it's a bit true. I am no expert, but am…
  • Are you able to take classes? Nothing mixes things up as much as a nice variety of classes.
  • Being in good cardio vascular health makes you feel fantastic. And that should be enough
  • I struggled with the "enjoyable" part as well. Running is one of those things where, when you get good at, it's fun. Until then...yuck. The good news is that you really do get a little bit better each time. What has helped me is music. That seems obvious, but it's more than just listening to music. I'm a huge music fan, so…

  • Why would you not eat the calories back? This is math, plain and simple. If you're trying to lose weight, MFP sets a low calorie goal for you which will allow you to lose weight. It then adds any exercise calories to the already-low daily calorie goal. So if you eat those calories, you are still low enough to lose weight.…
  • Every time I think I might be anything more than lightly active, I look out my office window and see the water cooler delivery guy. haha. I might work out pretty hard 4 times/week, but I don't do anything close to THAT all day, every day.
  • If you find the right combo of exercises, you can get a mix of both, and that burns tons of calories and really slims you down. Kettlebells are great for this, for example. You're lifting/swinging heavy weight and working many different muscle groups which increases your heart rate.
