Just because someone uses myfitnesspal doesn't mean they've been overweight their entire life. I have never been overweight a day in my life. However, I use myfitnesspal to log macronutrients so that I am eating exactly the amount I want, to ensure muscle gain etc. [edited by MFP Moderator]

I eat 1200. I count all of my macros. I am only 119 and still losing weight on 1200 cal. a day.

a good place to start is 1 carb per pound of body weight.

diet diet diet. Abs are made in the kitchen. (even if you don't want "abs")... 90% of your layer of fat being lost will be done in the kitchen.

I am gaining muscle and losing fat simultaneously. I eat 1.2 grams of protein per lb of body weight, 1 carb. per pound and .25 grams fat per pound. It is doing the trick for me! (Obviously I lift heavy, but that seems like an obvious requirement to gaining muscle).

It doesn't matter when you eat your calories. All at once or spaced out, your body will use them the same either way. If youre eating the same amount either way, then the choice of when to consume them is up to you.

What is the point of working out if you wont be eating proteins? Your body needs protein more than it needs carbs from fruit.

If you LOVE ice cream, you should try arctic zero. The stuff is amazing and you can eat a full pint of the vanilla for 150 calories. I always do vanilla and add some fun toppings. They have a website, instagram etc. Check them out!

When I feel low on willpower I post progress pics. The nice compliments from my friends are encouraging to keep up the grind! When I am out of calories but still feel the need for dessert, I eat sugar free jello. I weigh and measure everything I eat. I don't restrict ANY foods. Just use moderation. And if I feel the need…

I am 5'4" and 120. I would not be happy at 145 unless it was muscle. That is just my opinion. We all have different comfort levels tho, and different goals.

I am 5'4" and 120lbs. I do strength training and there is no way I would give it up for cardio. PLUS, putting on more muscle, means you get a higher calorie allowance, since muscle weighs more than fat! Right now, my allowance is around 1200. Once I stop cutting it will be around 1500. I only lift heavy, I don't do cardio.

Im 5'4", 32 years old, and still cutting. I eat around 1220 now, and guessing soon when I go to maintenance, I will be eating around 1600. Cant wait!!!

Im 5'4" and 119 lbs. Not usually hungry or starving through the day, but I eat 145 grams of protein (around 1200 a day total in calories). If I were you Id up your protein and lower carbs some, and I bet that will make a difference in fullness. Also make sure youre getting fiber.

Start lifting weights. Cardio wont do much but the skinny fat thing you mention. Weights and building muscle is where its at!

Yes they sell out quickly, go on sale on Thursday mornings and Sunday mornings only. Have to buy them quickly, but theyre worth it!!!

I eat fat and carbs. Your body is made to use carbs as energy, therefore you should be eating a reasonable amount of both to keep everything running as it should.

Um.... I am a woman, and I do as heavy lifting as I can, for 3 sets of up to 6 reps. I am building a lot of muscle AND losing fat in the process. Whoever told you women shouldn't lift heavy is an idiot.

I just think its harder due to science. lol. I am 5' 4" and 119. and YES it is harder but its only due to the fact that because you are smaller, your body requires less food to keep it going and what it needs. I say often, that I wish I were taller so I could eat more! lol

I take two a day. The other five days are chest, back, shoulders, arms, legs. I need my two rest days! Your body needs them too! I usually rest Mon and Tues.

I weigh everyday in the morning after I go pee, and I record it, and I also run a 7 day average to get a better feel for whats happening.
