I get what you are saying, but don't think that we all don't want to have that chocolate chip cookie dough or walk through the store and see the stack of twizzlers. I pass a mexican food restraunt and want chips, salsa, guac., enchiladas.... The process is easy, the things you need to do are easy.. actually doing it isn't…

I personally would start right away, get a scale and get use to weighing all your food. You need to make sure you know what your total calorie burn is and what you want your calorie intake to be, then just measure. It's the only real way to know what you are actually taking in.

Eating more at night has long been my nemesis. I save most of my calories and macros for evening time so I can do what works for me the best. It's my boring time filler to be able to eat things. Just adjust your calories for later in the day.

I wouldn't overly stress about the split I second what @ignite_ has told you.. I'd do .8 to 1 gram of protein per pound. I do 20-25% fat and fill the rest in with carbs. You will hear some say that's too low on the fat, but I disagree.. If you don't like how that works.. add in some fats and take away from carbs.. Make it…

If you can fit them into your macros and/or calories don't worry about it, eat and enjoy. You are most likely to stick to your plan if you do.

There is lots of debate the whether higher protein is an advantage.. If you are in a deficit there has been some significant studies to show that higher protein will help you maintain and even gain some muscle depending on your current muscle mass, lifting history, etc. I would definitely do at least 1 gram per pound, In a…

If anything I think my bed has gotten more comfortable.

This is this month's weight tracking that I have.. You can see the 7 day average really smooths out the peaks and valleys of daily weight.
-
You absolutely do not need supplements to lose weight or build muscle. You can do it with just food and exercise. I do think a multi vitamin can be a good addition.

I like corned beef and cabbage :)

I'm not sure how weighing or not weighing will help the weight loss but I do agree obsessing over things isn't super healthy. I weigh every morning and track my 7 day running average. That helps me see the overall progress and smooth out the ups and downs. The biggest problem I see with weighing once a week or every two…

So the bottom line is even if you cut carbs out you have to be in a calorie deficit. Sorry but that is the honest truth.

I hunt, I gather, I eat :)

It really has very little to do with your age. What is most important is knowing how much your body burns in a day and being very accurate with how much you log for food. Get a food scale and weigh everything.
-
sigh.. seriously unless you have a medical problem there is no reason to cut carbs from your diet. Keep a good mix of protein and carbs. Make sure you are really measuring all your food and know how many calories you are taking in. You will lose weight.
-
I don't cut out any foods.. there isn't any reason to cut out any foods. Just measure your food and know exactly how many calories you are taking in vs. burning. Get your body in a deficit and you will lose.
-
seriously 5 pounds a month is great, just keep going. Weight loss is not linear and will fluctuate over time. Just keep doing what you are doing and it will come down.
-
supplements do really very very little as far as weight loss. Get your calorie intake and exercise in place and you really don't need anything else.
-
It is very unlikely that a workout plan is going to help you lose weight much. 90% of weight loss is in the kitchen. I love working out, but just changing your activity is most likely not going to have a significant impact.

Here is the deal with alcohol.. 1 it is calorie dense, both with carbs and alcohol itself is a macro often forgot. Two it slows down your metabolism. You can have it, but it will make your journey harder depending on how much and how often you imbibe.
-
Figure out your total daily calorie burn, put yourself in a 20% deficit and you will lose weight. I'd not cut out my carbs but have a decent mix of high protein/carb and low fat diet. No one can tell you from what you have posted that you can or cannot lose weight from it. You need to weigh everything and know how many…

You can certainly lose weight on WW,they are counting your calories for you and it's a support group. I like fixing my own food and knowing exactly how many calories I get and my breakdown of proteins/carbs/fats.
-
No that's not what people mean. What we mean is you can't go back to what you did before. Honestly there just isn't any reason to give up carbs, there is nothing wrong with carbs, it's all about keeping a calorie deficit. It's not the low carb that causes their weight loss. However if that's what works for you go for it. I…

You can still lose, eat at slight deficit and high protein. Lift heavy and the fat will continue to go away while you build muscle.

Measure all your ingredients and total them up. Then split it out by servings. We create recipes in mfp all the time.

Just let him buy all his own food and you buy yours.

lots of good answers, nothing to panic about, just keep at it.

I agree 1000% you don't have to look at your calories on a daily basis. Bank some to have extra on the weekend, just keep yourself in an overall deficit. Also any exercise you can even if it's only getting you 100 calories a day will add up over time. stick with it you can do it!

I workout 45 minutes to 1 hour in the gym 5 days a week. You really don't need more than that. The vast majority of your weight loss is done in the kitchen. I would always recommend lifting, but that is what I like. It reallly depends on what you want to do, what you enjoy, what you want your body to look like.

@Aaron_K123 I don't disagree with you completely, I think far too many people try to under eat, slam a lot of cardio in and really mess their bodies up. I also think many people really underestimate what they eat unless they weigh everything.
