The manufacturer's recommended protocol is .25mg for four weeks, then increase to .5mg. I've not had much, if any, side effects, other than occasional constipation. No nausea or vomiting at all. Have been on Ozempic since March 2023; switching to Mounjaro tomorrow, as I've not been able to get Ozempic (I'm self-pay) since…

I've been on Ozempic (ordered from Canada) since early March. Down 28 pounds; 20 pounds to go, woot!! Self-confidence is up, clothing choices in my closet have greatly "expanded", lol!! I am on 1.5mg per week. Should be on 2.0, but cannot afford it. Hair loss is increasing, unfortunately - I haven't been as focused as I…

WOW - congratulations!! That's awesome!! I've been on Oz about a month longer, and have lost 24# as of today - I'm now 169, woot!! I would like to lose another 24#, which would put me at just under the lowest I achieved following my sleeve gastrectomy in 2015. I'm also on 1.5mg/week. No side effects worth noting, happily.…

I don't know anything about compounded semaglutide (except to avoid it due to lack of regulation, and sketchy sources for the active ingredient, since food-grade semaglutide is NOT available from the manufacturers). Many compounding pharmacies are being sued right now for false claims; there are multiple recent articles in…

@JCFan3 YouTube and Instagram are your friends when it comes to switching to a healthy eating and movement lifestyle. For both goals, START SLOWLY!! MOVEMENT: Try short walks (strive for ten minutes a day, five days a week, for the first 2-3 weeks, then increase gradually. Add in stair climbing. Spread your movement goals…

I think most people have moved on to Facebook groups. The same thing happened with Yahoo groups, btw.

I've had both issues since starting 4 months ago. I'm on Ozemic, 1.0mg. I've found it's useful to record my movements, and eat + drink fluids correctly in anticipation of any issues. Understanding how semaglutide works to slow your digestive system is crucial. Learn your body's triggers.

Great idea - hope the list owner makes it so! Unfortunately, looks like he hasn't been active on this platform since October 2021. How about: "Ozempic - Wegovy - Mounjaro WLG"

I don't follow a plan, per se. No fast food, ever. Mostly plant-based. Premier Protein or Fairlife shakes to ensure I keep my protein up over 80mg/day. Down 19 pounds since the end of March, woot!!

It's a slow and steady process, with a tool that actually WORKS. I stalled the entire 4 weeks on .5, then started losing nicely on 1.0mg. I do plan to stay at 1.0 for the foreseeable future, e.g. as long as I keep losing. I get my meds shipped from Canada, which doesn't yet have the 8mg pen available.

I've had some minor issues with constipation - the med slows digestion. Be sure to keep up with your fiber (via food and miralax, etc.) and daily water intake, and maybe take a daily stool softener pill. Lack of protein can result in hair loss: strive for 80-100mg per day. I've also occasionally experienced diarhhea the…

I do food prep on Sundays, which helps immensely. My typical weekday looks like this: Breakfast: avocado toast (one slice) and coffee OR protein smoothie and coffee Snack: Greek yogurt Lunch: Salad Snack: Protein (tofu or meat) Dinner: 2-3 bites of whatever I'm making the kids, but NO CARBS I also drink a 16oz glass of…

The .25 and .5 doses are to get your body accustomed to the med. Depending on the amount you need to lose, any weight loss at those dose levels is bonus. I want to lose 47 pounds. I lost ~9 pounds the first 8 weeks (lost 3 pounds the first week; after that it kept fluctuating: some weeks nothing, but a general glide…

Hi, @JCFan3 . I don't eat any of those things, other than toast. I enjoy cooking, and do ~2 hours of food prep almost every Sunday to feed me and my remaining kid at home. This is my typical day: AM: A warm glass of "tea" consisting of water, lemon or lime juice, a splash of sugar-free Torani syrup, and supplements:…

Honestly, I think the whole injection site location discussion is all anecdotal, even spurious. If you look at the manufacturer's insert that comes with your pen, it recommends rotating between locations (upper arm, stomach, thigh) so as to minimize bruising. That's it. No: "It will work better if you inject it in this…

Started Week 6 last Friday; second .5mg dose. The appetite suppression has kicked in - SUCH A RELIEF. I keep trying - and failing - to log my foods, sigh. OTOH, I eat a healthy diet, with one square of dark chocolate per day and zero alcohol. Absolutely no processed meats or fast foods (not for many years). I do love my…

Unhappy people post far more than happy people, so the results are always skewed. Virtually no one goes on BBB to praise a company - only to complain, for example.
-
I'm on week two at .25, tomorrow is injection day, and I've decided to go up two clicks, to ~.37mg. I've had no adverse effects from .25mg, and little to no appetite suppression. Crossing fingers and toes!!

Hi, unfortunately, this group is practically moribund. Suggest you take a look at the Facebook group for Ozempi and Wegovy - it has tens of thousands of members, and is very active. You can search messages for other people with your health conditions. As for the side effects - look at the insert that came with your pen.…

Ozempic in Canada comes in either 2mg and 4mg pens (I order mine from Canada, cuz my US insurance does not cover weight loss meds - meaning it would cost me $1600 for a four week supply of .25mg). The pens give you the option to dial in different amounts, too. You could go from .5 to ~.75mg , for example, instead of .5 to…

Agreed - I both weigh almost daily and also observe how my jeans and bra fit. When I got out of the habit of weighing daily, I discovered I'd put on ten pounds in a month. It's important to catch these trends early, and nip them in the bud!! For the life of me, I could not find my tape measure, so just got a new one. Will…

I'm curious: if you lost 5#/week at .25mg - why increase the dosage? Speaking from past experience of twice losing 60 (1999) and 82 (2015) pounds quickly, I learned the hard way that rapid weight loss equates to hair loss. Hair loss which for me never came back. :'( I'm only on week one of Ozempic, but am hoping to lose no…

Congratulations! The MFP groups I followed before/post VSG are pretty much moribund, sadly. Maybe try FaceBook?? KEY TIP: Do everything right this first six months!! Protein first, no drinking liquids 20 minutes before/30 minutes after a meal, no straws, no alcohol, no carbonated drinks, build up to 5x/week @ 30 minutes…

Sleeved 18 June 2015. 5’4”, 62 yrs. Highest weight 232. Lowest post-sleeve weight: 148. Current weight 188. Have gained most of that since changing jobs in Feb 2018. Time (past time) to get back on track!!

Joining in! Down 3 pounds since 1 July.

Don't have time to add much, but I'm here, and back on track! Starting a 12 week challenge at work on Monday. Found a new walking buddy. Had an InBody assessment today - ugh. Have gained an utterly disgusting 35 pounds in the past 2.5 years, which is when I was at my lowest (148 pounds for one day only!). The InBody…

I would love to have some new friends! Had VSG on 18 June 2015. Stats: 5'4" 61 yrs HW: 234 SW: 228 LW: 148 (for one day only) CW: 178 ACCKKK!! I went back to work in Feb of this year, and have steadily put on about 3/4 pound a week. I'm back on MFP, cutting the carbs and alcohol, and determined to lose. I feel awful, and…

I love to cook, and make stir fries and Korean BBQ ribs and chia bowls and so many more interesting foods now than before surgery. Key to your new life is eating MINDFULLY - thinking about what you put in your mouth, and how it will affect the way you feel. My mobility is vastly improved - never giving that up again! So,…

A profoundly obese (~400+ pounds) friend ended our friendship six months ago. She was constantly sniping at me and bragging about how healthy she is because she walks a mile every day. Saying I’d mutilated my body. She even had a “Ban WLS” badge in place of her FB avatar. I made it very clear: My body - My choice. No one…

If anyone knows of a vegan bariatric diet group - let me know. I was an O/L vegetarian for 9.5 years. Gave it mostly up when I adopted two toddlers from China who were malnourished. They are now 13 and 15, and confirmed carnivores. I plan to go vegan once they leave home, but right now I cook stir fries for them.....…
