  • http://www.unjury.com/products.html Expensive, but so worthwhile - and think of all the $$ you're saving on the food you're not eating! Also, your insurance may cover it during the pre- and post-op phase, too.
  • If you try to eat more than your healing stomach can handle, you'll wind up extremely uncomfortable - or even back in hospital. You can do this!! It's head hunger, not REAL hunger. Keep drinking water. All day long. Add flavors if you prefer them. Go to The World According to Eggface blog for some great suggestions. I…
  • I can't stand the aftertaste of vitamins, so can't chew them. They've always gagged me. Pretty much all vitamins, unless they're like the D3 type: clear, small, football shaped. Have to swallow them whole, preferably with yogurt. I have never been able to take any vitamins on an empty stomach - causes nausea within moments.
  • The World According to Eggface blog has some excellent suggestions for the liquid diet phase, too!
  • Try Unjury Chicken Soup - it's amazing! Lots of protein, good flavor and aroma. You can do this! Your surgeon will thank you, and YOU WILL LOVE THE RESULTS! Hang in there! :)
  • I've figured out the problem: it's my daily Premier Protein chocolate shake. Switched to Unjury with almond milk, and the problem cleared up immediately. IMMEDIATELY. I suspect my previous mild milk sensitivity has increased since the surgery. WHEW!!
  • Keep squeaking!! You'll get there! I was denied the first time, denied on appeal, got older and fatter for 3 years, went thru the whole dang process again, and finally got my surgery. VERY HAPPY. (annoyed at the delay, but VERY HAPPY!)
  • I'm down FOUR POUNDS since I started logging at MFP again, three weeks ago. I'd been stalled for MONTHS. YAY!!

  • I think for every horror story out there, there are literally hundreds of success stories. I would discuss this with my surgeon - what are his/her success statistics? There's a reason VSG has become so popular world-wide, and a reason why insurance agencies are willing to pay for it: it WORKS. Remember, unhappy people are…
  • My only wish is that I'd had the sleeve done in 2009, when I first heard about it, instead of waiting until 2015, when I'd gained a lot more weight, and done a lot of damage to my knees. #nevergoingback !!!!
  • I was sleeved in June 2015. I've lost 78 pounds. The first six months were the easiest, but I've steadily continued to lose, and am happy with that. I LOVE MY SLEEVE and would do it again in a heartbeat - it's been truly life-changing.
  • I find the snap peas delicious, albeit a bit oily. Trouble is, they're slider foods for me, and I can consume a surprising amount of them. Earlier this year I joined the Facebook group "Dehydrating Divas and Dudes", and bought a dehydrator. Now I dehydrate organic bananas, apples, pineapple, tomatoes, zucchini chips,…
  • So last night at about 9pm, DD#1 - newly turned 14 years old - informed me that she needed "professional business attire" to wear TODAY for the debate she's participating in. !!! Her closet consists of t-shirts and either black or camo pants!! So I dug into the very, very back of my walk-in closet for the extremely few…
  • Thinking of you - hope all went well! Sip sip sip, walk walk walk!! WELCOME TO THE LOSER'S BENCH!!
  • thanks, will try some of these!!

  • Thanks, I tried the BA chocolate and caramel calcium chews and got sick of them. Will see if I can get a sample of the new flavors, and a couple of gel caps.
  • 2013??? It is sooo maddening, the hoops they make you jump through! Best of luck!! I went back to work after a week, still on liquids, and was fine - and I was 56 years old. There are always more women on forums than men. Look around the forum for a men's group? I tell my kids: don't borrow trouble. Worry about the things…
  • I can so relate! I bought jeans, leggings, and even a SWEATER from Costco recently! Size 10 jeans, size large leggings, and a large sweater that probably should have been a medium - so very excited!! :)
  • Hope you're doing better - you're almost a month out, and should be seeing good results! :)
  • My goal this month is to add waist and hip trimming calisthenics in to my daily routine, and to increase my standing time at my sit/stand desk from current 2 to 3 hours/day.
  • Huh. I can't seem to correct my post, two posts up. Make that a "Premier Protein" shake every day. "Pure Protein" is a bar I occasionally eat, not my morning shake/smoothie!
  • I am 16 months out, and still drink a Pure Protein shake every morning. Sometimes straight, sometimes a chocolate one w/ a scoop of powdered peanut butter, 1/2 frozen banana, a tsp of chia seeds, and a lot of ice. The smoothie is huge, and much more filling. Especially great for the days I drive car pool, and have a 60…

  • Oh, yeah - forgot about crossing legs - that still makes me smile - so utterly awesome and comfy! Sitting in an airplane seat, too - legs crossed and room to spare on either side of my bum! LOVE IT!!
  • I haven't regained; am still slowly losing (3# this week; 10# since beginning of August), but have had a very long stall, due mostly to my love of a glass of wine in the evenings. !!! My breakfast has remained unchanged since the start: a Pure Protein chocolate shake, sometimes with PB powder, chia seeds and 1/2 banana;…
  • I had VSG on 18 June 2015. Have lost 75 pounds; still have ~14 to go. Haven't been on here in a long time; have a lot of NSVs!! - clearing out the closet, donating bag after bag of clothes from size 14 to size 3X. - losing a full shoe size - wearing size 10 clothes I've had squirreled away in the back of the closet for 12…
  • Start a fitness routine!!! Keep on track and losing. Increase daily step count. Finish painting the bathrooms!!!
  • I felt good after 2 weeks, when I could finally stop sleeping propped up. Have felt GREAT since week 4. Down 65 pounds now and feeling fantastic. Everyone is different, tho.
