I loved that novel; Heathcliff was a refreshing change from the usual dull leads. I wish Emily Brontë had a chance to write more, such a shame. Currently reading To Kill a Mockingbird. Glad it's a quick read, it's not quite lived up to expectation, unfortunately.

I too had reached my goal weight last year in May, having started in 2016. Since then I have regained 10 lbs and now am ready to get back on track! Feel awful about having gained the weight back, I didn't even realise that I had reverted back to old habits as I was doing well most of the time but having off days here and…

I've been on here since 2016, but so far have been going it alone. I lost 57 lbs, but have regained 10 lbs back recently. I would love some friends on here to keep me accountable and stop me from slipping back into bad habits. Please feel free to add me.

These resolutioners are the ones that keep your gym membership costs down, so stop complaining!!

I was eating 1200 for about a year, brought it up to 1300 towards the end of the year. I lost 57 lbs in 1.5 years, (although last 3 months of that I eat really low - not through choice). I never exercised, at least not much. Did a month or so of the 30-day shred, otherwise completely sedentary. I'm 5'2 btw.

I am actually quite shocked at this! Why is this acceptable?
-
Not the best advice. Why waste food?? Be honest, why does this need to be made into a big deal? I hate lying, especially over trivial things because then it becomes a habit. People should accept that you don't want to eat. Unless they are physically forcing it down your mouth, there really isn't a problem. Just refuse!

I'm in the same boat. I was 107 in May having lost almost 60 lbs, now am 111 lbs. Which isn't a great deal of weight gain, but I find myself binge eating after every 30-40 days and I'm certain I'm storing more fat than before. I lose some of the weight, then I'll have another day or two where I overeat to the point of…

Wow... why is there ANOTHER thread on this?!! Is this really necessary? OP, we don't care either way. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. You hate short girls, fair enough, good on you for having an opinion, now man up and stick to it. Why are people even bothered what some random man on the internet thinks? Is there…

Nobody offers me anything anymore, as I always refuse, politely of course. The most I'm ever offered is a cup of tea or some water, thank god. You just have to be firm.

I was one of them! I started in 2016, January 1st. Still here almost 2 years later. Started obese, now around 110 lbs and normal weight, but still very much a work in progress. I too am hoping to make some changes this year and am waiting for January 1st to start. I don't know why but starting afresh just makes…

Me too, but I always make my own food regardless. I don't mind it too much now. Most of my meals are super easy and require minimal cooking. Also, I only cook for myself as nobody else wants my food (guess I should count myself lucky!).
-
I do this every day. Have oats every day for breakfast, miss lunch and then save most of my calories for dinner. If I get hungry mid-day I have a piece of fruit, or something light and a cup of coffee. If I didn't, I'd have to have tiny meals and I don't do tiny! Plus who wants to spend all day cooking?

I don't have any difficulty reaching my goal, but so many of these foods are my absolute faves! I am having to cut down on avocados, houmous, seeds and most definitely peanut butter. I still have them as they are just too delicious, but not as often or as much as I would like. Wish I was one of the lucky ones having…

Yes, I get that too. I seem to have become so much more critical of myself. It's difficult to explain, this is the lightest I've been for many years and yet I feel that I need to hide in baggy clothes until I get to my ultimate goal weight. I struggle more now with what to wear and often feel terribly fat, even though I am…

Oh dear god. I'm really hoping I get to eat more than this when I'm maintaining! I'm around the same as you, 5'2 and 111 lbs and currently losing on 1300 calories, albeit VERY slowly. I don't even exercise, but hopefully will in January. How are you finding eating that little and exercising? I felt ravenous when I was…

Just out of curiosity, why thighs?? I'm more worried about waist size, never really cared much about thighs and definitely not my knees!
-
I don't understand why it matters. I'm 5'2 with a small frame and need to be at the lower end of a healthy BMI to look slim. I look podgy at 110 lbs, whilst others my height would look super slim.
-
Thanks. I will do
-
All the advice has been really helpful, thank you for all the replies. I have taken it on board, I'm not just ignoring everything that people have said. It has genuinely been eye-opening. I will go on a diet break for 2 weeks, continue with my exercise, but maybe add in some free weights too. Every calculator I try is…

I sure hope not!! :worried:
-
I understand what everyone is saying, but I feel like I am so close to hitting my ultimate goal weight, I can't have a diet break now, I just cannot do that. I want to hurry up and get slim, I want to get this weight off, then start a proper strength training routine. I may start when at 105 lbs, but not yet. I did watch…

I want to lose the last 10 lbs or so, then eat at maintenance and do a recomp. Will definitely look into that once I'm at my final goal weight. Thanks for the link, will check it out.

Sorry, I should have clarified. I haven't been exercising the whole time. Last year I probably exercised for a month or two, the whole year. I've been at the gym for the last two months, so it hasn't been that much of a deficit the whole time. According to some calculators, my BMR is set at around 1100 and maintenance…

I doubt it. I don't count my exercise calories, I just exercise. I have a Salter digital scale that I use to weigh out my food. I never eat from outside, never eat at parties, weddings, never eat anything cooked by anyone else - if it's not weighed I don't eat it. Everything is weighed out to the gram. I thought my diary…
-
I just had a look through your diary. I'm the same height and am eating around the same. You need to eat more nutritious foods than what you are currently eating. By the looks of it, you are eating a lot of energy-dense foods that aren't very filling. What is this Cocoa cheesecake that you eat almost daily (sometimes for…

Okay. I will read through those links first, to see where I'm going wrong and what I need to be doing. It's all a bit confusing to me as yet! I have increased my calories since joining the gym, so I really don't think I'm at a huge deficit now.
-
Thanks, will have a read! Although I'm not really at a huge deficit as I'm only short and have a petite frame under all the fat.

Since January 2016 I've been at around 1200 calories. I did increase to 1300 earlier this year, then went below 1200 for a few months. I am not using the MFP settings but just put my own calories goals, currently set at 1350. I'm happy losing weight slow - 3 lbs a month would be ideal, but I keep losing and regaining the…
