Can you tell us what sort of exercise you're doing? I'm same as OP right now, 5'2 and 129 lbs. Currently on around 1200 calories, but struggling to get exercise into my day. Weight loss is extremely slow at 1200 calories. Even with exercise, I would eat around 1350 calories to lose weight and it would be very slow weight…

I have tried not counting calories a few times, sometimes just a day or two, once or twice, for a whole week. I tried to just focus on eating healthier, making good choices and eating when I'm hungry. But truthfully, that is a lot more hassle as I have lost the ability to know when I'm actually hungry.

Yes, sort of. Haven't binged since writing this post and have lost around 4 lbs. Pretty sure it was water weight from binging before, but still, happy to see a loss. But I know from past experience that I can sometimes do well for a week or two and then mess up. Fingers crossed I can get through the next few weeks, then I…

I'm absolutely miserable at this weight. Don't feel like leaving the house or seeing anyone. There is no way I can just forget about trying to get back down, the longer I stay at this weight, the more likely I am to binge eat. I did manage to stop binge eating for over a year and a half, not one binge. Once the weight…

I have been tracking, but binges are pretty difficult to track. I literally eat until I can't force anything else down. Don't know why I self-sabotage every time, but it's a difficult habit to break.

Perhaps that's what it is. I was able to stick to 1100-1300 calories for a long time, over a year and a half, no problem. Now, I try eating that little and just feel ravenous. I then binge and tell myself I'll have whatever I want, get it out of my system, but of course, that never works! I don't exercise and never really…

I'm female, 32. Top end of normal weight right now.

5'2. I am at the very top end of the BMI scale. Definitely not happy being this large!

Most sites put my TDEE to around 1350-1450. So, it is perfectly possible that I could gain weight on 1500 calories. I think even that is generous as I am the couch potatoes of all couch potatoes, especially in autumn/winter. Barely move a muscle. My point was that often the very act of eating 1200 calories is firstly…

That 1200 is 'starving yourself' and that everyone can lose weight on much more than that, if they aren't then they are cheating and not measuring everything correctly. This gets to me every time and makes me feel like I'm doing it wrong. I've only ever lost weight on 1200 or less. I have always struggled with exercise, I…

This post is a bit patronising. I am short with a petite frame and am for the most part inactive. I lost most of my weight eating around 1200 calories. It took me over a year and a half to lose 57 lbs. That's hardly fast weight loss! I'm currently on 1250 calories, losing weight VERY slowly. It's taken me over a month to…

Never let me go by Kazuo Ishiguro. Pretty good so far, but I think I spoiled it because I've already watched the film adaptation.

I don't quite understand what your point is. That I haven't tried? That I haven't tried to inform myself? Also, what exactly are the facts that I need to accept? I've done the best I can, but now I see that it hasn't been good enough. I honestly believed that I was doing things the healthy way now, had been slowly losing…

Thanks for your response. I understand that I need to do things the healthy way, I have tried, but instead of losing weight, I gain it instead. If the guidelines worked, then I wouldn't need to restrict so much, but they don't. I feel stuck. I'm unhappy staying at my current weight, but can't lose weight doing things the…

I have been weighing out pretty much everything (except spices, black tea/coffee, water) for a couple of years now. This is the only thing that has worked for me and having done it so long, it has now become second nature and no effort at all. I went a couple of months last year when I couldn't weigh my food and had to…

I was just wondering, where did you get your calorie goal of 1910? For someone just 5'1 that seems kind of high to me. What's your activity level?
-
200 or so per day. I used to have a larger breakfast (500ish calories) but cut back on things like peanut butter, seeds/nuts, milk, now it's the same thing, but much lower in calories. I don't have lunch, maybe a snack if hungry, so that keeps me full until dinner.
-
I only wish it was possible for me to lose 1 lb a week! I lose that in a month nowadays, if anything. This past month I have lost 4 ounces after working out so hard and counting every calorie.
-
I could. But I don't want to just eat healthy food. That's boring and I would give up after a month or two. I always have something sweet at night, even when eating 1200 calories, I fit it in.
-
Great, I reckon I will just go back to working out before eating. Much prefer that.
-
I've done it before, but I read that you lose muscle mass if you lift without eating. I'm not exactly lifting heavy at this stage, but still, I have barely any muscle on me as it is. Don't want to lose any more that's why I thought I'd eat something.

I plan on one cheat day every 4 months or so. I've gone 8 months without one though and didn't miss it too much. It seems the more cheat days/meals I have, the more I crave them. I do have treats on a daily basis, if I can fit it into my daily allowance, then I'll have it, no guilt.

The thought of putting on even more weight makes me feel sick. I am hoping to workout at least 3 days a week, doing cardio and strength training. Also, want to increase my calories to 1300 or so. Is this not going to help me?? I'd rather lose the last bit of weight, even just get back to 107 lbs, and then try to build…

I think a lot of the problem is that I have very little muscle mass, so even at that weight, with loose-fitted clothes I looked small, but anything tight would make me look really fat. When I was in my early 20s, I was around 90 lbs, I know that's too small now, so I picked 100-105 lbs as my goal weight. I think that's…

I did join the gym last year, went a few months but wasn't able to stick to it. I know I need to start doing some exercise, of course, I realise I won't gain muscle from sitting on my butt all day. As it is Ramadan, I can't exercise this month, but my plan is to join straight after Eid and aim for just 3 days of exercise.…

I'm 5'2.
-
My aim is 1280, but it's Ramadan, so will probably be under 1200 most days. Not active though, light walking every other day, that's it this month.
-
Currently at 1280 (increased from 1220), losing at a rate of around 1-2 lbs a month.
