I would guess the majority is water weight. I've read that when you first jump start into any fitness routine your muscles hold onto water until things balance out (you keep exercising). Perhaps it could also just be hormones given your age and it's nothing more than Some bloating on top of water weight? etc... Are you…

Get a foam roller! It will be uncomfortable at first but you'll learn to love it. It helped me tremendously.

I started her plan a few months back but then decided I was better off (just based on my goals) to focus on weight lifting instead. I've heard great things about it but some moves were hard on my lower back in round 2. I think she calls them weighted jackknives. I found some days I could only do two rounds instead of 4.…

I don't follow their plan but Chris and Heidi Powell say chick fil a's diet lemonade is approved on their plan. I say start with flavor and slowly wean yourself off if that's your ultimate goal. I'm really picky with water. I don't like it from a glass in my home but will gulp it down with a straw/thermos type cup. I…

I second this! I don't think you should skip breakfast or prolong it for any reason. I exercise in the morning so I split my breakfast. Today it was a piece of toast with PB before my workout then egg whites and roasted sweet potatoes after my workout.

I just returned from vacation too although I ate pretty "healthy" and stayed on track for the most part. You can do it!! It feels great to be cooking and eating the way I really want again. What sucks is 1 day home then it's pizza cake and ice cream to celebrate my moms birthday. I'm eating light all day to account for…

I'm not going to take time to read all the replies but drinking lemon water first thing in the morning helped me as well as going to bed with a bowl of kashi go lean cereal (high protein and fiber). I squeeze half a lemon in a coffee mug and fill 3/4 with cold tap water. I also take probiotics on occasion. Usually my…

Sautéed kale paired with roasted sweet potato chunks, some dried cranberries and slivered almonds with red wine vinegar is heavenly!! Oh and red onion...and bacon if you really wish :)
-
I love lentils with leftover chicken, pork tossed with cucumbers tomatoes and some red wine vinegar and feta cheese. Super yummy and filling. I also like tuna wraps with laughing cow cheese and mini peppers
-
I think you have some great ideas already. I love laughing cow cheese with mini peppers or spread on lite Italian Flat Out wraps (good fiber and low carbs) with tuna or turkey. Can't think of anything not listed except think thin protein bars for on the go snacks.
-
Low cal low fat I can offer some suggestions but you're already pairing it with chicken so really you shouldn't need another high protein as a side dish... I love roasted veggies. I toss a huge bowl of diced zucchini, squash, red onions, mushrooms, red peppers, and cherry tomatoes with a bit of coconut oil, salt pepper and…

10lbs in a day? What do you mean your body just grew? Sounds like a scale error or you forgot to take off your shoes one day Edited...why does MFP keep dropping parts of my comments after posting?? Anyways if it continues to climb significantly each day you need a doc...

10-15 minutes of what?? Maybe we all need your workout plan!
-
I don't know the correct answer but I would say you'd be fine as long as you're eating enough to maintain your muscle. Chris Powell believes in FITT when things plateau OR after 4 weeks of the same thing (I think he says 4 weeks...) change either your frequency, intensity, time or total (reps). Again, I don't know the…

I just had to laugh at your screen name scubasteve Edited... Why does MFP keep dropping off my text after posting??? Anyways, we say scuba Steve all the time in our house because it's a line from big daddy. Know it? Anyways moving on!...

Victorias secret is not so much a secret anymore

I'm on the last day of vacation and I use pool time to get some exercise. Run the stairs wherever you go. Pack healthy snacks for the hotel and your purse ;). I looked up nutrition facts of places I knew we'd eat at ahead of time to make wiser choices and made a note in my phone. Other than that I did the best I could and…

When it goes on sale I love Peppridge farms whole wheat oatmeal bread. It has great fiber and protein and isn't dry like some wheat bread. Very good toasted with pb and honey before a workout :)
-
With all the confusion that surrounds fit bits, what advantage do they have?? Maybe another thread and perhaps it's no different than figuring out MFP....just curious as I don't have one.

One of my favorite food bloggers Iowa Girl Eats is gluten free and posts all kinds of great things.

Oh..another favorite of mine...black bean tacos!! Super easy. Lightly Mash rinsed and drained black beans with cilantro ,red onions, lots of cumin, and spread a corn tortilla with either chipotle laughing cow cheese or use the real stuff and add the mix and cook on both sides
-
I love chicken sausages (I get mine at trader joes) sautéed with cherry tomatoes, broccoli and tossed with some lentils and red wine vinegar. You can add cucumbers and feta and toss it on a bed of greens the next day. Day 3 make an omelette and chop everything a little smaller. I prepare homemade turkey sloppy joe mix with…

I'm in the same weight category at 5'8" and just started Jamie Eason's 12 week plan (free) to kick off my recomp. I just recently upped my calories closer to my TDEE. I'm not focusing on the scale anymore but how my body looks overall and have read it takes patience. Edited to add...I used an average of several free online…

I'll add you! I have an open diary for friends and eat balanced and "normal" meals. I just started Jamie Eason's 12 week program. week 2 starts on Friday for me. Edited to add I'm 34, 5'8" not trying to lose weight but gain muscle and lose fat

I'll add you. I'm 34 and while I've had an account a long time I just started the last few months really using it daily.

I have the same issue although not medically diagnosed. I use to buy bakery bagels all the time and never put it together that it was high carbs causing my day long low sugar feeling issues Nowadays I love plain Greek yogurt with pistachios and a touch of honey paired with 1 slice of wheat toast and 1/2 TB peanut butter.…

I do this combined with a meal plan and inventory list for for my freezer. I would often buy too much ground turkey forgetting I had two half portions frozen already etc. Plan out your meals based on what you have including snacks for the week. When you need a new rotation just choose 3-4 and not every healthy thing that…

Super! Keep good track in MFP and you'll be on your way!

I can relate to this. When I don't have any sweets throughout the week I generally don't crave them but once I have a treat meal and maybe some dessert...it's like the flood gates are open. I have a hard time turning it off the following days. I love trader joes dark chocolate espresso beans. Just a few does the trick for…

Finding healthier choices at most fast food places can be done. -McDonald's, they seem more limited to me but their grilled chicken salad has decent macros. The grilled chicken sandwiches don't usually fill me up alone so something paired up from home would be good. -chick fil a's market salad with grilled chicken is the…
