  • Wrong v8! It's V8 energy drinks and they have b12 30% b6 20% riboflavin 20% and 60mg caffeine.
  • Thanks for all the replies...interesting stuff. No I don't take a multivitamin currently. Perhaps that's a good place to start and see if I notice difference...MUCH cheaper than a 6 pack of v8 energy drinks. But they are tasty and when I have a coupon I buy em up ;) I'm not sure without looking what B vitamins are in the…
  • I love it too!! I love it with grilled chicken, a bit of enchilada sauce cilantro and a a bit of shredded cheese and black beans. I roast mine in the oven with salt and pepper. (I get frozen grilled chicken strips and enchilada sauce from trader joes.) I also love it for breakfast with some diced up turkey breakfast…
  • I don't know if you're numbers are right but I'm 34 5'8 128-130 and eat at maintenance for recomp which is about 1880 calories plus whatever my Fitbit calculates. I don't eat back all my exercise calories unless I feel I need them. I couldn't do 1400...I'd pass out from hunger. You might find as you start to lift more…
  • I wouldn't make it on those foods you listed as another poster mentioned...the sugar content is too high. If convenience is the issue you'd be better off to splurge on some quality protein mix. Bagel thins aren't bad but paired with fruit I think you need some more solid protein.
  • I eat regularly 6 meals a day and always have protein with every meal and snack. I keep a sandwich bag of almonds and craisins in my purse or a protein bar anytime I leave the house even if ive eaten just in case a sugar crash occurs. Eta: I don't do low carb. I eat them at every meal as well but I generally stay away from…
  • Oh man I have to try this. I eat plain Greek yogurt everyday usually with a bit of honey and some pistachios. Never thought to add protein powder or my favorite kashi!
  • Mediterranean lentil salad: leftover chicken, lentils, cucumbers, tomatoes, feta, red wine vinegar. Turkey sloppy joes with steamed broccoli with a sprinkle of garlic salt (minus the bun) I love light Italian flat out wraps and fold it bread with turkey, BBQ sauce and lettuce etc. or tuna avocado and hot and sweet mustard.…
  • +1 quest vanilla. Hands down the best. It smells like vanilla pudding mix and is good with water but amazing blended with almond milk and frozen fruit. My favorite "milkshake" is made with just a 1/2 frozen peach. My kids tried it and begged to have one so I bought vanilla carnation instant breakfast packets for theirs.…
  • I'm not crazy. I like quest vanilla protein mix and if I drink it at night I'll mix it with water. For the most part I blend it with 1 cup almond milk and 1/2 frozen peach. Did you know 86% of all statistics are made up.
  • I've been in maintenance for 6 weeks now. I find if I hit my protein and snack between each meal and before bed I stayed fueled all day. I'm 5'8" at 128-130 with 1880 calories. I DO eat back some of my exercise calories (didn't until I got a Fitbit) and I find my body really needs them most days. However yesterday I had a…
  • Lately this is me! I can't keep my eyes open and have to lie in the couch for 30 minutes or so to snap out of it. I eat well and don't have a lot of trigger foods or anything that would be causing it. When it hits me I feel like I just need a Pepsi but I avoid that and nap! Lol. I was hoping it wasn't overtraining but I'm…
  • I think we're all aware we could feasibly raise chickens and it would be a moot point but would you have that same logic if beef and turkey prices were rising too? I am just trying to not rely heavily on egg protein as a result of increasing prices. <period.
  • Wish I could. Darn HOA's!
  • Don't worry about the scale so much. I watched it for 4 weeks when I first started and at first went up (water retention in my muscles I'm guessing from starting a new program) then it went away and I actually lost 1-2 pounds around 4/5. Now I'm pretty confident my maintenance calories are accurate as the scale doesn't…
  • I had this issue when I wasn't logging correctly. By that I wasn't entering all the small stuff all the time...olive oil I used to cook some chicken, veggies added to my salad, measured dressings, butter, jelly, cottage cheese, nuts etc. all those things were eye opening when I actually weighed them out and got portions…
  • Glad you're on the other side of it now! Baby steps. Keep an accurate log and make notes on how you feel. My mom had all kinds of digestion issues and after removing corn, soy and dairy she was much better. I hope you can figure out you're triggers and work around them! I'm working to maintain too. I'm currently 127 ish...
  • 34, 5'8" 127lbs maintaining at 1880 lift now 5 days a week with 3-4 days light cardio. Cardio for me just started on my current 12 week plan so I might need a slight increase. So far so good.
  • I can't get past trying to understand the post title. Lol.
  • I don't do much for the week other than make chicken/turkey muffins to eat with salad or lentils. Usually while I'm eating my pre work breakfast I weigh and package things for lunch or snacks later that day. I also prelog most of my days which is really helpful to me.
  • Suggestions on overcoming logging food is a pretty simple solution!! Chances are you have an idea of what you eat for breakfast everyday and if you have any kind of meal plan you might even know what's for dinner. Log it! Phew. Glad we got that covered. It's not hard.

  • ^^Word. I've sat at the table and watched my husband and kids eat donuts on a Saturday morning. They know I love them but work them in when I want. You have to start resisting temptations to get the ball rolling. No different than learning to get up at 5am to exercise if that's all you got. When you walk in panera to just…
  • I split my breakfast when I workout in the morning. This week I had steel cut oats (I make a batch overnight and have enough for 4 servings) with 1/2 banana or peach mixed in. Then after my workout I have 1/2-1 cup egg whites with 1 egg with either 1/2 roasted sweet potato, toast, or a trader joes black bean quinoa burger…
  • Exactly! Not enjoying your birthday or feeling guilty over a piece of cake is a diet not a lifestyle change. I make room in my diet to eat chocolate chip cookies with my kids, trips to the ice cream store, date nights with pizza, football games with wings... I don't do it everyday. balance is key. Press on! Happy birthday!
  • I wilt mine (chopped bag from trader joes) in a sauté pan (4 minutes) with a little non stick spray then toss it with roasted sweet potatoes and red onion (peeled, diced and roasted at 425 20 minutes) slivered almonds, craisins and a few splashes of red wine vinegar.
  • There's no rule of eating 6 meals a day to lose weight. I prefer to eat 6 because it keeps my sugar in balance and I don't overeat at meal time. Do what works for you and track everything in MFP. Have you figured out your TDEE as a starting point? Why is lunch a struggle? Time or choices? Sounds like you're consuming a lot…
  • Why no carb?? I'm with another poster, breakfast doesn't have to be cereal toast pAncakes eggs...eat what you like. And that bacon pic says it all!! Mmm
  • This recipe was a total fail. Not only did my house reek of stinky cauliflower when I stir fried it but they practically disintegrated in the oven. Waste of a perfect head of cauliflower and my beloved cottage cheese. Bummer
  • Just bought a blendtec can't wait to try some of these...especially the pumpkin. I might become an addict over the winter
