I've found an easier/ cheaper way to prevent sliding. I use rubber/ elastic bands to wrap around the ends of the glasses arms after I wear them. The rubber type of bands work better, but I think anything that can create a "bulk" at the ends would work just fine. I have lower nose ridge & this method works well for me…

I can totally get this. I think it depends on what kind of people you share your weight-loss journey... Some of them just like to take a peek & see what you're doing; some of them would like to have the same progress/result as you but have zero interest in having the same commitment; and there are those who know a lot,…

Usually 30-50 min per day & 5-6x per week. I'm finishing up P90X3 and am mixing it with some Les Mills programs now (also around 30 min). I plan to do another round of P90X3 but a different schedule to see what would happen!

Now it comes to few more questions... Have you tried the machines in either gym & do you like them? Does either one of them offer group classes? Do you prefer (or "do you think you can") working out before work or afterwards? For me, I'm the type of person who's afraid of getting bored during exercising and I enjoy group…

At the same time. I started by cutting my calories and by walking/ using a second-hand home stepper. Lost 14 lbs in two months. Unfortunately, I also used to think exercising as a good excuse for me to eat recklessly. I didn't really enjoy the benefit of exercising afterwards (cuz I slipped back to binge eating) until I…

Or start to think about what you have/don't have to do certain things and choose the one that fits your daily schedule/ activity level. Gym or no gym. Outdoor or indoor. Flexible schedule or busy weekdays. Cook yourself or dine out often. All these could affect your willingness to stick to a certain form of exercise and…

I've been to some Zumba classes where the instructors are the craziest dancers who'd like you to dance your %$&^ out: non-stopping fast beat music for the entire hour (or 50 min). That I think I might have burned around 650 kcal. But for all the other Zumba classes with most songs are slow to moderate tempo (or even…

Sounds like a fun workout option! I've never throw punches on a punching bag (only to the air on an imaginary enemy), but I'd at least ask a professional for guidance & demo to prevent injury since it's actual contact for the fists (or whichever body parts)..?!

^ This!!! Another thing: be patient!!! Our body (I should say especially the fat cells) won't tell if what we're doing is harmful/ life-threatening or "just trying to get adapted to the new environment," so don't get discouraged if you don't see the result right away. And also, it'll be harder and harder to see the change…

If that really helps reducing fat, my family should be the fittest in the community, especially my mom (lol). Nope. She's quite fit for a lady in her age but she definitely has some happy weight around her belly that bothers her. Drinking green tea won't help losing weight/ fat. There are some studies showing that the…

Yeah I think being able to feel excited (or at least not feeling bored) when I do those workout routines is a good way to see if I should continue doing the same thing. I'm thinking about doing a week or two mixed workouts that I really like and start the schedule again (need more weight-training but I like cardio more).…

Oops for that phrase... really... don't fry me yet... please >"< Well, to be honest I really don't know the actual number of my body fat % anymore... I used to believe my scale for that matter, but now (I supposed to know more after all these days) I don't really know if I should trust anything on scale other than my…

I see juicing as a form of digestion outside of my body... so, nope.

I'm not in college anymore but my sister is! She lives on campus and relies on her meal plan a lot... Like many people have suggested, cooking yourself is a better way to control what you eat (at least know the calories). Cooking in a dorm (I'm not sure if it's allowed/ against the rule tho) could be very difficult and…

I log daily too! Would love to have more active friends

I'm not sure if this is true, but I've heard people gaining weight during the process of quitting smoking. Guess it's the constant snacking (need something to grab between fingers and put into mouth) that cause the weight-gain. OP, maybe this could help?!

Agree. It all depends on genetics, and maybe the way you use to lose weight. My legs and belly are the first place I saw fat-loss, and then boobs, and my hip, arms, & face are the last. Face is the place I'd like to get smaller the most and it's still kind of chubby. My arms are almost the same despite my almost 10-kg…

Just curious & not trying to be disrespectful... BF around 18-19% shouldn't count as skinny fat, right (I thought 28-30% does)? Otherwise I really have to redefine myself in my current status...

It's genetics and depends on what degree of leanness you're talking about...

Oh those are really good ideas! Thanks ladies I'll definitely do it! @jgnatca I totally forgot this option... making yogurt myself should be fun

Yes I admit feeling the same about group classes, but I guess I was able to ignore those (except schedule conflict) since the benefit I experienced was greater. And plus I hate using machines for cardio because I feel bored easily... I also found myself using other people in class as my motivation. Once a while I saw…

I enjoy going to gyms because of the group classes they offered. Since you mentioned cardio, I do recommended Les Mills programs and Zumba. Those are classes I enjoyed a lot and was able to keep going for 3-10 years (depend on where I lived... moved several times and not every gym offered those I want. Now I don't have…

I started when I was 14 and finally reached my goal range before I turned 30 this year. You can definitely do it! Give yourself the best gift for your big 3-0!!

I'm 5'5.35" (agree with the after-digit-numbers!). I think it depends on where you lose the fat. For me, my bottom size changed more than my top size. I was 130-132 in size 8 jeans first, 127-130 in size 6, and then I was in size 4 from 128 going down to 120 (hip size went from 38" to 37.5"). The measurement didn't change…

Hello~ I'm not on MFP long but feel free to add me :) (Btw we're about the same height! )

I only do that for the purpose of better bowel movements and habits (so I can be freed from fear of having constipation). Other than that, I don't see the difference and effectiveness for weight-loss.

I was worrying about carrying salmonella from the egg shell since I was a kid, so I don't even consider eating raw eggs an option... Even though I know it's safer to do that nowadays...

Good things: there are too many of them!! Most important one: I love myself more (in a positive way) & knows what's beneficial for my health. Bad things: spent more money on clothing since now the chance I worry about not fitting in decreases a lot. Also, I can't really sit on hard surface for long since I've lost some fat…

Have a good diet & workout plan and keep going. You body needs time to show you what it can do in response to the changes from diet and workout.

Agree! I also compared myself now and a decade ago before I started this whole weight-loss thing as a teenager- now I have good cardiac function, higher confidence, and am happy to keep going without giving up. I think I'm pretty fit physically and mentally now  And here's an interesting post I read a few days ago.…
