  • Passed 5000Km today, 43000 metres of vertical done too.
  • I went with red before, never going to anything but black bar tape again.
  • Got ~4100Km horizontal and 32000 metres of vertical so far, ahead of target and coming in to summer time too. :)
  • Been using strava for close to 3 years now, it's definitely help me keep interest in cycling and it's great to see the progress I've made within that time.
  • A buff is a really good way of keeping sweat off your head. Or even a cycling cap though I stick with the buff.
  • After seeing this video on Cycling Weekly, I'm going to consider it for my next set of wheels. http://www.cyclingweekly.co.uk/videos/cycling-tech/tubeless-tyres-tested-destruction
  • I do get those random kudos on strava too, doesn't really bother me unless someone is using their name fields for a company name. In which case I consider it spam.
  • Gabba's are great, I've 2 LS (one of which is convertible). By far the best clothing purchase I've made since I started cycling 2.5 years ago.
  • I'm about halfway through the 2nd book, it's been very informative. I just have to set a date to get my FTP test done but first up is a Retul bike fit next week. Once that's complete I'll set the FTP test and then start one of the Strava training plans.
  • I've got the very same one on route to me now. Really looking forward to having that extra data available during and after for analysis.
  • Fell short of my 2016 goal of 7500Km by about ~250Km due to being out for an entire month because of injury. 2017 goal is for 8500Km with hopefully 60,000 metres of climbing.
  • 32, living in Ireland and work in IT. Been cycling as a hobby/enthusiast for 12 months and really really love it. Relatively new to MFP but hoping to use it to help me drop 40lbs. Currently commute about 80Km/week but have started to take a slightly longer route which should see me push to 100Km/week. Try to get on longer…
  • Build yourself up to it. Try and get some 40/50/60/70 mile rides in prior to the 100. It'll allow you to troubleshoot any issues with longer trips. As others have mentioned, pace yourself. If part of all of the group is moving on, keep to your pace. Last thing you need to do is run out of steam with a lot of mileage left.…
  • I'm about 270lbs and have my tyres running at 110-120psi. I use Conti Gatorskins and rarely get a puncture (touch wood). When I have got one, it's because I've been running too low on psi or it's a pinch flat.
