Hey! My goal is roughly the same. I want to lose about 45 lbs, and will be eating around 1400 cals a day. I am already down quite a bit from my highest weight (245 to 175) but I really want to push to get the toned, athletic look I am after. I cook all of my own meals, so my focus will mostly be on portion size, and…

Slice them thin, roast them a bit, and then use them as a pizza/flatbread topping with fresh basil and goat cheese. It's seriously amazing!

Quinoa: My favourite is to cook it with broth instead of water, and then stir in chopped feta and green onions. Chia Seeds: I use them in recipes for overnight oats. I just posted a recipe for Chai Latte Overnight Oats, if you're interested!

Wow!! You are truly amazing.

Thanks! Sometimes when I get down on myself I have to take the time to visually remember how far I've come, and then just keep pushing! Keep at it. :)

Wow - you guys are awesome! So inspiring. Here is mine. It is from a while ago, and I have been pretty stagnant since then. I'm trying to gain some new momentum, so hopefully reposting my before/after and looking at all of yours will do it! I am currently at 175 lbs. 240lbs to 170 lbs (5"8')

Awesome! Sounds like you're learning what you like. Keep experimenting. :)

It still has a slight texture to it, not as impeccably smooth as true alfredo. If the "graininess" of it might be an issue for you, a standing blender would probably work better in smoothing it out. Still, it's not too bad. It certainly didn't distract from the flavour for us!

GENIUS.

Personally, I love salad. I eat a different one every day! I have a couple pieces of advice for you: 1) Chop/shred your veggies very small - the texture and consistency between bites can be easier to stomach for some. 2) Make your own dressings. I find them waaaaay more flavourful, and I can control the acidity level. My…

I have a big tupperware of cherries in the fridge for my afternoon snack, and it's taking all my strength to not go get them right this second... Fresh cherries are one of my top 5 favourite foods. Along with pineapple, avocado, ahi tuna, and smoked gouda cheese.

I have never been able to find a reliable source for calculating yoga calories - hot, bikram, or regular. I just log my class as an even 200 calories and have a light snack afterward. Any extra (actual) burn is just a bonus!

You are seriously rockin' it. Great work!

I ended up trying this recipe (with a pizza dough recipe from a friend) and it was pretty awesome! We grilled it on the BBQ instead of baking it, as well. http://youpinspireme.ca/rhubarb-basil-pizza-savory-rhubarb-recipe/

Why are you drinking so much water?

Here are my easy-peasy meal formulas! They are super simple and really basic, but you can use these formulas for almost ANY ingredient. Play around with things until you find what you like. I am a pretty adventurous cook, but when I am just trying to get through another day, this is what I go to. Breakfast: 1) Toast two…

28-year-old woman, living with my boyfriend, no kids, 1 cat. I am 183 lbs and my goal is 140 lbs. My highest weight was 240 lbs. My favourite exercises are running and yoga, but I'll try just about anything!

Fresh B.C. cherries!

Mmmmm, these all look amazing! Thanks, everyone. :) I am especially intrigued by the roasted rhubarb and mascarpone recipe...
