Short Goal: 30 lbs, January 1 To go: 25# LONG Goal: 100 lbs, 2 years? To go:85#

Well, for me 80 is my goal, though perfect world me has even more than that to lose! I'm at 4.5 pounds in 4 weeks, so its going pretty okay so far! Managed to ride today, and hope to ride tomorrow too!!
-
Good to see you! I rode today!! Hope to ride tomorrow too, and keep at this recording thing, its amazing how easy it is to lose if I just log!!

okay, 3 weeks in, 3.7# down! So far so good! Anyone else back at it after a break? Im just starting to get to woek my horse again now, after building a new house, a rough winter and a spring so rainy I couldn't ride at all! I've lunged horse 3x so far just to get him used to the idea again, and if this heatwave breaks I'll…

Right, 3 weeks back on the wagon, 3.7# down. Hooray! I'm gonna get it done this time for real i think! Join me folks, let's do this!

Hi! Just saw this, last week it said no new messages! I'm back at back at it, hopefully for the last time this time. Are you weighing your foods? I'm amazed at how much difference that makes for me. The only thing I've found that consistently weighs what it says it will is slices of bread. Otherwise things are allowed to…

The water park closes at 7 for general public, and then the local RC has it rented for classes. So only the river runners are in the lazy river, and they also have a water Zumba class in the tide pool, and i think another class but i missed who they were. It's pretty neat really! Nobody is in the park except people taking…

Thanks guys, I logged it as water aerobics and we'll see how that does me! It was a blast - if you have a chance you should definitely do it. The river is a half mile circuit, and at about halfway on each side of it there was an instructor changing our task. We started one lap just walking with the current to warm up, then…

I definitely include them in my meals, i frequently don't get time to go for lunch when i'm at work at remote locations, so i keep a couple in the freezer at work. I also keep several in the freezer at home. I don't cook much so if i'm on my own for dinner, a frozen meal is delicious. Remember though, that they frequently…

I have a few favorites, but i swap it up pretty consistently. It's probably not the most nutritious list, but it's mine! Jimmy Dean EggWhite Delite Sausage sandwich (260 cal) Noosa Greek Yogurt with Granola (Cascadian farms lemon blueberry is my favorite) (210-250 cal depending on which falvor yogurt & how much granola)…

I've seen it published in the past (sorry can't remember where) and it seems to hold true - that you need to lose around 20% of your weight in order for others to notice it easily (without it being pointed out). In personal experience, that seems true for family and friends. Co-workers will go ahead and wait a little…

I lost 70 pounds 2 years ago, and gained it back because i had stopped logging. So Just honestly logging my food is really the #1 habit that i needed to reinforce. Now that i'm tracking again, i'm losing - its pitiful how easy it's been. Other than that, knowing my eating/snacking tendencies has helped too. I've noticed…

Bananas could also be an issue, if you've recently increased them, and you like them on the green side. I like them slightly green myself, and but if they are too green they can cause constipation, as well as some gastric distress. :#

I think I mostly agree with everyone else here - but i have some strategies that might help too. I think part of it depends on where you are in the process - i don't think it would be out of line to ask that there be no sweets in the common areas of the house during an adjustment period while you get on track for your…

The 2# a week weight loss is only considered safe if you have quite a lot of weight to lose - i'm shooting for 2# a week and i have over 100# to lose. (yuck, did i just say that out loud???) If you don't have that much to lose, then a less aggressive setting is suggested. Also, if you burn 150 on the treadmill, then MFP…

Hey Gang! Well, i'm pretty much exactly where i was in January of last year, but i'm back at least. Last year was hard, i lost a beloved pet &/or horse every month until June, and i just couldn't keep taking the hits.. Down a dog 3 cats and a horse from last year, but gained a puppy - otherwise i think i'm also at the same…

I'm in a similar boat as far as weight & goal rate - something that i've found to be helpful to myself is to look at the calories i need to eat to maintain my current weight and keep it in mind as i go. Right now my goal is 1730, but to maintain my current weight i need to eat about 2350. I've promised myself i will log…

I'm 5'8, 270 and i'm set at 1730, at that rate i've lost 6# over the last 20 days which i'm quite happy with. My first goal is 180, and calculators say at that weight i should be fine at 1850 calories a day. I used "lightly active" as my setting, and i think in reality i'm somewhere between that and "sedentary" during the…

I have six meals scheduled in MFP, although i often only eat 5 of them. I have Breakfast, 11sies, Lunch, Afternoon Tea, Dinner & Dessert all as scheduled meals. Usually i have EITHER breakfast or elevensies (often i'm not hungry right when i wake up so i eat my first meal at 11). Lunch is usually between 1 and 2pm. Then my…

I'm currently on a 1700 cal diet, usually eating around 1500 a day during the week so i have a little extra wiggle room on the weekends. Here's what I had today, I've had a few munchies today that have gotten me up to 1500 but my 4 main meals were around your goal amount. I do better if i don't go to bed hungry, so i…

I'll play! I live in Kansas, and i ride & show American Saddlebreds. I used to do saddleseat and hunter, but after some wrist surgeries i mostly do western now - riding one handed means my bad hand can just kind of be a decoration and that's what it prefers! My show horse (profile photo) is mostly retired this year, last…

I weigh & log daily. I've noticed that about 7 days out I start retaining water, and then as soon as I start I have a woosh to make up for that week's water retention. A little odd and different from what many other people report, but it has been awfully reliable so I guess that's my patttern =)

You won't convince him to join in on your diet by suggesting it to him, it has to be his idea. Meanwhile asking him not to eat any of his favorite things it sounds like is a no-go. If you have any specific trigger foods you could ask him to either not purchase them, or not keep them in the kitchen. Baking bread obviously…

I feel you, i never don't want pizza. always, any meal, pizza is welcome. Just recently tried Blaze pizza though and will be going back - whole pepperoni pizza was like 660 calories and yum. Will probably go every couple of weeks for that =)

Allright-allright-allright! Down 9# as of today's weigh in, the Piggy is all paid up. I started out using quarters but my credit union had some rolls of dollar coin yesterday so i got those for going forward, should save some wear an tear on the ol'pig =). Hope you guys are getting there and making progress too. Just so…

Awesome! I haven't been on a horse but once this year. I have all sorts of weird allergies but the weirdest is an allergy to cold. I actually get hives if my skin is exposed to air that is too cold, and if it's cold enough i'll even get the hives through clothing. So most of the time winter is time off for my kids. I bring…

Welcome back! You're doing great too I think! My newbie horse is headed up to KC to the trainers on the first of March, should attend his first show ever in late April (if all goes to plan). So i'm hoping to be at least a size smaller by then, and see where we go!

My doctor, back before he retired, told me that he had some patients of each sort - some did way better on prednisone, some did way better on Mederol, and that it had to be something related to genetics but that he'd never seen any studies done. He'd just experienced it enough that he'd warn us if we had all the hunger /…
