  • I also ride, though not dressage. I have my smartwatch running map my run to get a calorie count for my rides, and don't use the step feature at all, and that seems to be working for me. You can check my diary if you like to see. I get a double dip somehow because samsung health also adds calories for the same ride, so I…
  • I'm down 15 since my last post, hanging in there making progress! Anyone else out there?
  • Okay guys - i'm still in this thing. Been hung up the last few months at the same weight but i haven't gained so i've got that going for me. Been riding when i can - horsey's had some on again / off again gimpiness dangit, but i THINK we're back on track. Now i need to get down a couple sizes so i fit in my show clothes,…
  • Okay so, 20 by the end of may is NOT happening, i'm still at my year end weight - but hey, that's better than gaining right? Still on track, still going to make it - it's a marathon or 7, not a sprint - right? right.
  • Okay, two weeks into the new year and im just now hitting my pre break weight. My fault really, I've been eating very salty meals. Ah well onward and downward as it were!
  • Mmmm bread. I love it too. I may be lucky, as long as I'm within my calories carbs and fats don't seem to slow me down. Now insufficient protein turns me into my even eviler twin, but thats neither here nor there...
  • I'm 4 days in, and having an easier time staying in my calories again after my break. When i re-started back in June i was frequently only using around 1500 of my 1850 allowed calories, but by christmas i was often going over by a little bit. I took 10 days off of everything (work, tracking, everything) and now i'm back at…
  • Happy New Year!!
  • Yes thats me! I have Saddlebreds, haven't shown in a couple years, lost my old faithful and newbie isnt quite ready yet. That will only be helped by me getting fitter to ride him more and get him ready!!
  • Oh - feel free to send me a friend invite if you like as well, i'll take anyone friendly!
  • Dang it, I posted a reply earlier and tis gone! Anyway I'm glad you're here and posted, welcome back! I've laid off daily weigh ins and such for a bit now because I was feeling stuck. I just did my first weigh in 2 weeks and finally saw a small loss! Short goal: 20 To go:9.9 Hooray!!! Hocks are so weird. My old guy who's…
  • I like having both an overall goal, and a shorter term goal. My Overall goal was a total of 100# lost, without a time limit. Shorter term, in June i set a goal for myself to lose 30 by the end of the year. I'm slightly behind but it's helping me keep track of how i'm doing progress wise, without beating myself up that the…
  • Short Goal: 30 To Go: 13.4 I lost back some of what i had previously lost and regained last week - it was likely mostly salt anyway but it's gone now so yay! Softly, Softly, Catchee Monkey.
  • Short Goal: 30 To Go: 14.1 I was lower than this on Monday and Tuesday, but had a couple of sick days off and didn't get online to post, so this is where i am today. Slow & Steady man, Slow & Steady! Oh, and a Non-Scale Victory (of sorts). My pajama bottoms have gotten looser, to the point that the tag moves around enough…
  • Short Goal: 30 To Go: 14.7 Slow and steady wins the race and all, but MAN this is going slowly! I suppose progress is progress! AND i rode this week! This summer has been kind of a comedy of errors with riding, any time it's been dry enough to ride, the horse has been off, or needs a trim, or both. But he just got a trim,…
  • Short Goal: 30 To GO: 16.1 No real progress for the last two weeks, but i haven't gone backward so i'm going to call it a win anyway! I have seen a few days where i was down lower, and i DID have nachos for dinner last night (so salty so good) so this may be water weight, but i'll take it anyway! Slow and steady wins the…
  • I keep forgetting to weigh in the morning, i'll post as soon as i remember! (My wife is a health-care worker, and one of her co-workers has been exposed, so i'm sleeping in the basement for the 2 week quarantine period just in case.) The mare seems fine - in fact we had a major weather change yesterday (it was 70 in the…
  • Well if we're admitting overall total goals - my total goal is to lose 100#, of which i have so far lost 25. So i'm making progress - but that's 25# over the last 4 years, so it's certainly not SPEEDY. Since i began in July of 2016 i've been as much as 60# down, but then i fall off the wagon, and stop logging, and when i…
  • I typed up a long response here last night and it All Disappeared It was pretty annoying. Anyway, I have a horse thats really nice that I want to get back to the show ring, but right nownim so far and out of shape I barely ride him at all. I'm hitting it hard now after having fallen off the bus several times now for…
  • OP - I'm in nearly the same boat, I'm 45, 5'8, and about 260 - I've got my stats set at "not very active" and 1# / week. I'm actually mostly sedentary, but i do have a garden i work on, and a farm and ride horses here and there, and move a bunch of hay frequently, but i've found that for the most part logging each of those…
  • I do weigh daily for the most part. I occasionally forget, and occasionally intentionally skip if I know I overdid sodium the night before and don't want to know, but I would guess I weigh myself 27/30 days. I just thought weekly checking here would be plenty, for me at least. If you want to check in daily please do!
  • Finally made some progress this week, unfortunately tied to some stress as my old retired lady had a bad day that threw me off my feed. She's 24 and presented like she had a TIA or maybe Hypokalemia, but all her bloodwoek came back normal and she seems entirely fine now, so a bit of a mystery. She would like me to STOP…
  • Hey, a pound a week is really decent progress!
  • I'm just using MFP to track calories - set your goal however you like and lets getter done! I have stalled the last two weeks, my weight has been the same every day, to the point i was starting to think the battery needed replaced. No foolies even the decimal didn't move - today it finally DID move so i'm back! Short Goal:…
  • Short goal: 30# To Go: 21.4# Today it shows that i've lost 8.6# off the short goal, yesterday the scale said 9.6. Frustrating, but i'm still on the wagon and going strong! Anyone want to join me? Maybe i should start a new thread...
  • No, no i don't see any way you could have predicted that. It's just way out of left field!

  • Hah, I've come close to that myself a few times. Trying to get a deep clean of my barn done, been working at it a month now, bit by bit its getting cleaner and better organized and I keep thinking "why did I keep this?" And "why did I ever let this get dirty??" But at least its a nice workout!
  • Short goal 30# To go 22#
  • My breakfasts vary a lot, and if i'm not hungry i'll just wait till i am to eat, sometimes that means late breakfast, sometimes that means i just have a bigger lunch. My favorites right now (not in order) are: Jimmy Dean Delight breakfast sandwiches - english muffin, eggwhite, turkey sausage, cheese (260 cal) I don't…
  • oh no! ulcers are the worst. My new horse is ulcer prone but fortunately only really related to travel, general working stress doesn't seem to bother him much. Ulcergard is so expensive!
