Your quote reminds me of a conversation I had with an acquaintance not long ago. They asked about my relationship and what my husbands parents thought of him marrying me. I said I didn’t really ask, as I didn’t know it would be a problem. They laughed and said they still ask their family permission to go out for the…

Same pov... you just said it better 😍

It’s not a question of whether women want this and men want that, as it’s completely unique for each individual person. I think attraction leans more towards trends and personal experiences more so than biology. It’s still an interesting topic though! At one point I wasn’t as intrigued by appearance as I was by attitude so…

Omg lol, this made me laugh. Your timing is perfect.

So many gender generalizations based on ones generational norms in this thread. The “women do this, men do this” attitude is old think and needs to die out already. This doesn’t lead to more of an understanding between genders but segregation and toxic stereotyping. It’s even more disheartening when you spread that…

Hi there! The general page will be very helpful. This is one of my favorite posts from there and it will answer your question. https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10191216/the-most-important-thing-you-can-do-to-lose-weight

That’s perfect! Sounds like you’re gonna do great 😊

The only way one can lose weight is a calorie deficit, carbs do not matter. If you don’t see a loss over time you might want to start weighing your food on a food scale. Read the stickies as to why that makes a huge difference in your logging accuracy.

Okay, I could be wrong, but I would bet you asked him how tall he was when you first started hanging out. My point is, when something is seen as a positive or admired, people don’t know they can’t ask. Heck, I get people commenting on my long blonde hair all the time. Anyone with a unique trait will get comments about…

Net carbs are the carbs minus fiber. This is a calorie counting site, so you’ll have to do the math yourself to track your net carbs from the nutrition of your recipes. Most of us eat whatever we want and just eat in a calorie deficit to lose weight here. I believe there is a keto group though, that might be of more help…

That’s my maintenance calories as well. Also, maybe it’s just me but I’m not a fan of programs. Been there done that. My lifestyle doesn’t fit in a box so eating anything I want but in a calorie deficit and weighing my food is perfect for me.

Yes 👏🏻 I’m 4 lbs up in a matter of days. Is it water, yep. Am I upset, nah. I know what it is so it doesn’t matter. The trend is where it’s at, and keeps me going. Because of long term tracking I honestly feel like my previous disordered relationship with food has been resolved. I know what to expect and what “normal”…

Hi Terri! Can you give us more info? Why exactly do you want 6 meals a day? What is your height, weight, gender? What is your goal weight? ETA: For protein: If you know your LBM, then 1g per lb, but otherwise 0.8g per lb of goal (for you, current) weight is a good estimate. That should be your minimum, fine to go higher.…

Glad this was bumped :) Fun read. There’s no such thing as good and bad food. and... Hara Hachi Bu: Stop Eating When You’re 80% Full.

Low fat, low calorie, low carb... sounds like a recipe for stomach issues and deprivation. You need fat for digestion and to keep things moving. You’ll need carbs for energy. Too low calories will have you losing muscle as well as fat and likely you’ll lose too fast. Can I ask you how you got up to 326 lbs? I would guess…

1 lb= 3500 calories. If your TDEE (maintenance calories)= 1600, you would chose a deficit above 1200 as that would be a minimum amount recommended by MFP. .5 lbs a week is a 250 cal deficit per day and would= 1350. Weighing your food with a food scale, with such a small margin for error, would be pretty important.…

Yay! Welcome!!!

Anything providing a deficit will work. But if it’s not a way you plan on eating for the rest of your life you are likely to gain it all back and more. This is why most people eat whatever they want and just count calories (weighed by a food scale). It’s a win-win.

Big win today- weighed in at 128 🤯 So excited! I met my Jan goal! know it’s going to go up again, but I’ll keep my eye in it and keep pushing forward.

Can we just create the acronym IIFYC already (if it fits your calories). That’s gonna be my thing now, just sayin.

Please ask for scientific published studies and share them with us. If this is an opinion, it should be stated as such by your nutritionist. Awesome that you’re turning your life around!! Super exciting point in your life, and it just gets better and better! Make sure you have a reasonable deficit or you’ll burn out and like many people, binge. The other huge mention and I’ll get out of your hair 😆 is to weigh your food! If you read the stickies it will go into…

What nobody told me I would hear on repeat once I reached a healthy weight, and typically from people who didn’t know me 50 lbs heavier: “you’re thin, you’re lucky!” or “you have a fast metabolism, you wouldn’t understand how hard it is” and my favorite “you have good genetics, you can eat anything” when I’m eating bread…

Hey, cool. No worries. Some people here are Keto fans because it’s what satiates them, and provides them the calorie defect they need to lose weight. I’ve gotta admit I’ve never heard them preach it was good for the environment though, that’s a new one. Also, if I may speak generally, I think most people here agree that…
-
Nvm I guess you’re not making them anymore. Your explanation makes sense.
-
Hopefully she’ll come back to clarify. Since it was a pretty thoughtful email, your guess might be right! In either case, I don’t believe starvation mode is the term she would want to run with.
-
Great message! Apart from what I bolded, which is a myth, there is no starvation mode. But the rest is 👏🏻

Thank you for being so clear, kind, and motivating. I’m excited to check out your YouTube channel.
