Pay attention to your injuries, muscle pain is great but when over done it may lead to joint failure. Acute joint pain is to be avoided at all cost. Ask your local physical therapist to help you develop other exercises for strengthening your knee area. Your wonderful machine, bicycle, should last you a long time with good…

The final tally for July: I have two more days this week to do 55 miles to complete my training plan below this week was recovery week: Over all on track and ready to tackle August. Good job on everyone who loves getting out on the pavement and dirt to see the world from the perspective of the humble bicycle. The distance…

Congratulations on choosing, deciding, and taking action towards swimming as part of your routine in exercise! I am a water professional of over thirty years, swam for sport and fitness, surfed big waves, competed in triathlons and currently a budding ultra endurance cyclist. I still make time to swim three to six days a…

Nice to have you on here @distanthorizons -- I use a Garmin and have to say that it helped change the way I ride being able to have stats like cadence & hr in conjunction with speed/distance accessible all on the same screen. Trying to keep track of my eating for Ultra endurance cycling. I do nothing but outdoors stuff. Also into the holistic health options. Pay attention to your therapy I hurt my back when I was 16 and just did a lot of gravity exercises and structured my core strength. Good luck and stay focused on that therapy.

Hey IT, I do endurance cycling but have been a multi sport athlete for the past three decades. I cycle anywhere from 150-250 miles a week but I love to swim. If you build muscle in other areas of effort you base metabolic rate will help you lose that extra. Try easing into crossfit or just start doing calisthenics or…

Don't worry about the weight unless you are anorexic. Concentrate on the performance and look for signs of over training like a high resting heart rate, lack of motivation, chronic dehydration etc. You are working out to be healthy so if you see signs of over training and it is not in your plan for an event decrease…
