MFP August 2015 Running Challenge: Yesterday I got 1 mile in via two 5 min treadmill runs(6mph). Today I changed it up instead of running my usual route through town. I went to a recreation area at my local lake and did a "dam" run(1 hour-4miles). This gives me a total of 5miles this weekend. August Goal: 45miles…

Sorry wasn't trying to hurt feelings. I was just making fun of product I think of as "snake oil " and a big waste of money. There is no quick Fix short of a medical procedure or PEDs. I am very sorry you feel bad about my stupid comments. I was making fun of the product not you. Now reading it back I can see that I was…

It's not just Saran Wrap it is a super secret formula that has been proven effective in Broscience medical studies. I mean really, if it was just Saran Wrap and mineral oil do you really think people would be paying upwards of $100 a wrap?
-
Thanks. And who said Broscience has no real value?
-
They work GREAT but don't follow the directions that come with it. Follow these: > wash and dry your midsection and back >take wrap out of package and spread out on kitchen table >next go to your pantry and remove all junk food items like chips, cakes and cookies >place gathered items into wrap and wrap up tight >throw wrap…

MFP August 2015 running challenge: The miles are getting harder to come by now that I am spreading the cardio around instead of just running. Today I did slip a mile in via two 5 minute warm ups on the treadmill. Goal:45 miles Completed: 15 >>>>>>>>> 30 to go <<<<<<<<<<

@ndj1979 This is kind of what I am saying here. Although I am in a different situation then these guys. I don't have a high metabolism, I lost 45# in 2 months due to cancer treatment. The idea still the same >> get aggressive with it. If they start seeing too much fat then back off. But what's probably gonna happen is what…
-
At 5' 8" and 127# sounds to me a little fat may not be a bad thing. It may not be a good goal if their goal is to be super shredded. But that's not necessarily everyone's goal. I did it just to put some meat back on my bones realizing that at least half is gonna be fat. I don't think it's good advice to stay at that rate…

August goal 45 miles/completed 4 so far Today I did 4miles :1 mile in warm ups and cool down. Plus a good 3 mile slow jog at the track after lifting. So new total is 8 completed. 37 to go August: 8 of 45 complete

I don't think it is necessarily wrong. I just think it's more of a generalization. And although most people will fall into one of those categories their individual needs may be different from someone else who is the same type. OP: I don't think your 2-3# goal is too aggressive. At your height and weight , a little body fat…

Thanks for the reply and kudos to you for your awesome attitude!

Thanks everyone. It has been about a month since I came here to log food. This site has made a huge difference in helping me reach my goals, And surprisingly this community has made a huge impact on me as well. I think my thyroid is declining(Dr says it's inevitable) and even with low energy levels I have been making gains…

I am gaining at a rate around 1 1/2 # a week. I lift 4 days and been steady on the cardio. Most of the belly fat I shed has come back. It is the 1st place for it go and last place to leave. I have MFP set to gain 1 pound a week plus eat a surplus and my exercise calories back. I think 2 a week is as far as you want to go…

Goal is 45 miles for August. Completed 4 today: a half mile jog on treadmill >>some knee stretches>>another half mile jog>> then 18 mins of 1:2 HIIT on elliptical >> ended with 10 min light cycle. Took a late night jog through town and knee start aching a little at the halfway point so I walked from there. I think by doing…

Add me. I am new here 1 month. I am consistent about posting and logging food and exercise. The friends I have made so far are very helpful. My main focus is lifting and I am currently trying to gain weight. In the month I have been on here I have gained 7 pounds!

In July I ran 42 miles / 40 mile goal. My main fitness focus is on gaining weight and lifting. I have started doing a lot of different cardio like cycle and elliptical. This has cut back my miles a bit but I still want to "challenge" myself. So this month my goal is 45. Good luck everyone!
-
My goal was 40 at my last report I was half mile short. Squeezed in couple more to finish month out with 42. I know this is not much compared to a lot of y'all's outstanding runs but it is a big deal for me. Thanks for joining me on my journey and congrats to all other participants!

JUly goal 40miles completed 37.5 so far ran 1 mile after Friday workout. ONLY 1.5 miles to goal :)

you can also thicken/add cals with yogurt
-
to thicken add another scoop of powder>>> thicker shake and more quality cals
-
I know it has already been said but whole milk and peanut butter are my go to bulkers when I need to add in extra cals to my protein shakes. For protein powder I use inexpensive whey from grocery store. I tried more expensive brands but all seem to work and taste the same to me.

I do a few quick light stretches after a 5 min cardio warm up usually on elliptical before lifting. I did develop runners knee after trying to vamp up my cardio sessions. I found a good series of stretches on youtube for runners knee and no longer get pain in my knee when running. I don't do them every time but I will…

good read. thanks. I lost about 50 lbs in 2 months while going through cancer treatment. i was left with a fat roll at my belly but lost most fat elsewhere. I tried for a few months to get rid of the belly fat and only could put a small dent in it. I finally decided that I was going to bulk despite the stubborn belly fat.…
