  • Years ago, I found out my bf of 5 years (ex afterwards) was cheating. He tried to deny that he was sleeping with her, and did the same thing in regards to me. She said he told her that he would never touch someone who was as big as me, so I must have been lying about it. Meanwhile, she was even bigger than I was, but that…
  • Look at your shoulders, there is a definite difference. That is where I saw it too, although I am much bigger.
  • I've taken it before and had success. I think I have gained a few pounds back after I have stopped, but after the quick initial gain (5-8 pounds), I have been able to maintain the weight loss. Then I got pregnant and gained a stupid amount of weight, so after having our daughter, I took it again. It didn't work the second…
  • I am 36 years old and had acute osteoarthritis in my left knee due to an undiagnosed injury. I had a total knee replacement last summer, after the first surgery failed and the doctor said my knee was too damaged to fix. I am 9 months out from surgery and I really began to struggle with emotional eating. Working out was…
  • I started running at 270 pounds and fell in love with it. I dropped down to 190 as a result. I understand the knee issue though. I injured my knee years ago, and literally had doctor after doctor write me off as a heavy person jogging, causing knee pain. I couldn't even get an MRI and I wish I had fought harder for myself.…
  • I think it is ok depending on your needs. For example, I've been a "gym rat" for at least 5 years. I need exercise in my life and 90% of the time, I need more than Planet Fitness can offer. Six months ago, I had a knee replacement though and I am slowly working my way back up. Unfortunately I have gained weight as a result…
  • That is what I have been told too, and as much as I miss running, I don't think it's worth the risk. I have really taken on a love of weight lifting, and adding walking or the stair master will be a good addition. Speaking of the stair master, that is the only cardio I have ever done that I can compare to jogging, in terms…
  • I totally agree, exercise is so incredibly important when it comes to recovery.
  • I started at the gym when I was 260 pounds. I started jogging on the treadmill in the cardio cinema because I was embarrassed that I could only jog for 30 seconds. Five years later, I have been hooked ever since. Once I hit my first mile, I started working out in the main room and never looked back. Even now, I am…
  • The 30 day shred completely changed my body. I only lost 2 pounds but I had the best shoulders after that! Even now, when I can't work out nearly as hard because I just had a knee replacement 3 months ago, my shoulders still look pretty good, LoL. I will be doing that again next summer!
  • **Update** It is now almost 4 months since my knee replacement and I am back at the gym and doing pretty well. I still have daily pain and I think that is to be expected, but Tylenol usually does the trick. I have a few weeks of Tramadol left, but I am trying to not take them unless I am having a really rough day. I have…
  • Mine was when my boyfriend of five years (ex now) told the "other woman" that I must be lying about our relationship because he would never date someone who looked like me. I immediately left him when I found out about her and realized that I was so much happier without him. My moment came when I stopped trying to make him…
  • Almost 8 weeks out now and I feel noticeably better. ROM is around 110 and I'm up to 20 minutes on the bike. I think my ROM would have been better if I rested more, but with two kids, it just didn't happen. I should have been. Water with the ice and elevation too, but what can I say? I feel like I am starting to feel back…
  • I hit 198 this morning by just because of the pain meds. I am miserable from them at this point. I can't eat because of them but then feel sick because I am not eating enough. I think I may go to just Tylenol, we will see. 27 pounds is nothing, you can do it. Try making small goals. I have mine set at 10 pounds a time, so…
  • 36 years old and 6 weeks out of a total knee replacement. I started the bike again last week and lifting (upper body only), and I plan on getting a timeline from the doc for lower body. I can already tell my knee is better and stronger, but I have to be careful not to overdue it. My range of motion is lacking at this…
  • Exercise is proven to relieve symptoms of PMS. You should workout harder when on your period! Haha, at least that's what I do, but that may not be for everyone. If you use tampons, nothing should change, right?
  • Whoa, really? That makes for a long year.
  • Welcome, everyone! I am excited to keep growing the group, so feel free to reach out to the discussion boards and invite people over. It doesn't have to be teachers or people who work with kids either, anyone looking for support is welcome. :)
  • Ahh, what a great idea. We should pick a week in August and do this. We can make little mini challenges if it all goes pretty well.
  • I am going to play Devil's advocate here. Is this for real? I've been fat shamed before, everyone has, but it is usually rare and very underhanded. It doesn't usually happen straight to your face like that, and it just happens to take place at the two grocery stores? Maybe I am wrong, but I wonder if other things were said…
  • I had a knee replacement 4 weeks ago but want to get back in the gym as soon as possible. I was talking to my physical therapist about lifting again and he told me what he does, and I might try it. He is not a big guy and doesn't want to bulk, so he thought it might be a good plan for women who lift. He suggested that I…
  • Awesome, I am adding you to the list!
  • This sounds supper yummy too. I work from home 5 days a week and my boyfriend works from home 3 days a week. These would be great! I cook a lot during the day but these would be amazing.

  • I am not Muslim but keep up the good work! As you keep going you may see that inches drop before your weight does. It is a good idea to take photos of yourself to track the changes. That is so motivational for me! Any positive changes that I see make me want to keep going.
  • Cauliflower Rice **For this recipe, you will really play with the spices until you find what works best for you. We have made some really good batches and have made a few that are not edible lol. For example, we tried paprika in our "rice" one time and had to throw it out. We did not enjoy that one at all, haha.**…

  • Chicken Stir Fry (My all time favorite "diet" recipe") So this recipe is not perfectly healthy, but we eat it a lot, especially during the school year. I will make a big batch on Sunday, and it is usually enough for Rob and I to eat lunch on Monday and Tuesday. Ingredients: 2 pounds chicken (Use however much you want, we…
