I went out for a walk in the cold, ended up jogging for 2 minutes out of my walk (for the first time), and continued even as the snow swirled around me!

I have set up a chart with things like $5, $10, and $20 for a new wardrobe, new mp3s to listen to while I exercise, new equipment for the home, a new pair of jeans. Things like that. I have quite a bit to go. None of them are food related and help bolster my motivation.

Just enjoyed a raspberry yogurt, All bran cereal, a little bit of miniature chocolate chips (because it goes great with raspberry), and a banana. Typically, I eat what I feel like. Don't go into the mindset that breakfast has to be breakfast foods. I have never been one for breakfast foods that often.

The picture of the pasta makes me sad. 2 ounces isn't that much when dry. I personally cannot eat pasta at all. I am looking for some rice noodles to purchase. PCOS means no gluten. I am trying to move away from it even if it is a weakness for me. I noticed when I began using my scale that I overate some things and…

You have to evaluate yourself and why you do it. I didn't get any control on the situation until I started recognizing the anxiety/emotion/stress that put me in the mindset to binge. Now, if I bring any sweets into the house, they are immediately portioned and put away. If I want a sweet, I log it. (Sweets were my binge…

@aliciamunday7 The next time you are at the grocery store, go to the butcher and ask what days they mark down meat. Some grocery stores mark down meat on a particular day. I am lucky that one of my local stores mark down every day. I pass it every morning. If I feel up to it, I go in and check what they have. I come home,…

Personally I do not understand how anyone can buy all that. I LOVE finding deals. We just found ground beef (7.5 pounds) for $16 dollars. That is SO many meals for three people. We grow fresh veggies and fruits to bring down the cost of our produce. We buy locally and can things. Buying foods in season make them much…

Buy the fruits when they are in season. Right now, they are not. Personally, I grow the fruit during the summer and fall. I am adding more and more fruit to my garden. Take grapes. Usually they are 8 dollars for a pound.

Surprisingly...nothing. No cravings. And that is something to bear witness to. I began taking vitamins and eating WAY healthier. I did have a craving for Cadbury Mini Eggs a few weeks ago. I bought some on Amazon so they would take forever. Then I saw them in the store and caved. I portioned them out and added them to my…

Homemade ice cream isn't too bad. You can control the amount of sugar in it. Also, I have seen some great recipes for banana based fake ice cream. The Domestic Geek on Youtube has at least 8 different "guilt" free ice cream recipes. They look delicious!

I find it a little funny how you seem to be spouting like you are an expert on PCOS. Unfortunately (if your doctor hasn't told you), PCOS affects EVERY woman differently. Clearly, you have lost the weight by simply restricting your calories. That's great. But to sit here and practically say that the way to lose weight is…

If you cut out dairy, it has let your testosterone drop. That seems to be an aspect of PCOS that makes it more difficult for women to lose weight.

10 years ago was my diagnosis with PCOS. I was put on Metformin right away. I spent about 3 months curled up in bed unable to eat anything and crying because the pain was so great in my stomach. I refused to take it anymore and haven't dealt with my PCOS since then. I ate what I wanted. I gained weight. For about three…

Every day of my life, unfortunately. I found that it doesn't help to not enjoy what I typically crave. I am an emotional binge eater. A hint of stress and the urge comes back. A support system is great. Beyond that, measure everything. Portion everything. Enjoy that snickers within your calorie limit. But start working on…

I absolutely LOVE my stationary biking. It is my go-to cardio. I am quite amazed at the amount of people who continue to say that cardio isn't necessary. Yes, you could lose tons of weight by watching what you eat; however, I will stick to watching what I eat and exercising. Exercising isn't just about "heart healthy…

Of course you can do this.

At a 2 pound a week loss, you only lose 0.28 pounds a day on average. You will get there. I am looking forward to that moment! Grats!

It is no different. Like potatoes, a sweet potato can have a different color flesh. There are bright blue and bright purple potatoes. There are yellow potatoes and stark white. It's the same for sweet potatoes. It is just a different variety.

Sometimes I feel a little pushed to eat back those calories. It depends on the day. Sometimes I do and sometimes I can't. Today...is one of the days I feel like I cannot. I feel full with my daily allotted food.

The Shadows by J.R. Ward. Just finished The King by J.R. Ward. Also thinking about re-reading Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series.

This is a great idea. I bike as my main exercise choice. Absolutely love it. I might do this to purchase my treadmill!

I just made a list. I have a lot of weight to lose, but every 10 pounds I am giving myself 2 new mp3s for my player (Boosts my exercising) and $5.00 for a new wardrobe when I hit my goal weight. Each major weight goal gets 10-20 dollars put aside. I also added a treadmill, weights, and a new pair of jeans on the list.…

I have come to the conclusion that it doesn't matter what the others in my household or life do. I want to lose the weight. I am changing my life to be healthier. I just dealt with a similar situation with my sister and mother at a baby shower I hosted. I refused to eat any of the snacks/food because I brought my own,…

Congrats  You did great!

Why don't you make some raised beds? You can get fresh soil (investment) and over time turn it over with the lower soil. I would also suggest adding tons of organic material to the soil - kitchen waste, manure, egg shells.

I have been looking forward to the growing season since the end of the last one. I am looking forward to sweet corn (yum). This year, I am growing more - raspberry, golden raspberry, blueberry, pink blueberries, strawberries, zucchini, tomatoes, herbs, peas (I will only eat them fresh), cucumbers, spinach, carrots,…

Chili is a great thing to make in advance and freeze. I also make broccoli soup with VERY small amounts of cheese. All my broths and beans are homemade. No salt.

Youtube has many great videos to use and at all intensity levels.
